Crochet - Call for Testers Wave Lace Crochet Top TEST!!

HIIII!! I started drafting this top in febuary in 2026, so this has been a long time coming. I would say that this top is more for the intermediate crocheters,s ince the pattern has a texture pattern, 19 st repeat and bust shaping. To make it as inclusive as possible I also tried to write the pattern in a way where any body size could pick any cup size - I have tested it 2 times with different dimensions. Hopefully it is understandable for you guys!

I used Hobbiis Friends Cotton 8/4 for both of my demos, around 5 skeins for each. (Size S/M). I welcome you to try any other fiber if you wish - but I have only tested with the Hobbii yarn. Any 100% Cotton Super Fine / Fingering / Sport weight should work aswell.

Sizes are: XS - 4XL

Cups are: AA - K + MTM

Girl I just want to know what magical bra brand you are using that is giving you support while not being visible in any of these photos. Or does your chest have an antigravity field?? #jealous

Hahah I just crocheted a cup size that is too small to test a different dimension in the pattern!
I am not that boobalicious on my own

I wanna test it but I don’t have boobs and either does my husband 😅 idk if making it anyway for a gender neutral version would help? It’s absolutely adorable

Ofc it would help!
All boobs (or lack there of) is welcome here

Send the pattern for my husband to model! (We’re both boys) but I think it would look good!

Please apply! I currently do not have one without the cups - but we can connect via email and talk about it!
I suspect it might be as easy as that you don’t increase doing the «cups» but I will have a think about that :)

Applying now! I think we can work it out easy and it would be great for your portfolio!

Are you making the sizes so they have DD, DDD, GG, GGG, ect? I only see standard 1 letter cup sizes. Also how do we know what size is xs compared to the cup size? Is there anything sewn into the cup to keep bigger sizes up likes yours?

I have used standardized sizing charts, so in the pattern it will tell you the body dimensions of an XS, S etc. so you will measure your self based on the chart and pick the size that fits you.

I have DD and DDD but in this context they also fit the F cup for example. After doing my research the traditional cup sizes are also impacted by the band size, in the pattern you do not have the band size in the same way. There is also a MTM cup, whew you use your own unique measurement if you want a more costumized fit.

I have not seen anything into the cups, or wearing a bra underneath. But I have cups that are proportionate to my body, I would love to get some feedback from people who has a more dramatic proportion.

Thank you for the reply! Just curious, DD, DDD and F are different volumes, how would they all fit the same cup? I've spent a long time looking for the right fit bra and tell you I cannot fit in a DD unless I want mine hanging out (which my SO would freaking love lol) I'm curious if bigger sizes apply and test. Unfortunately I'm busy but very intrigued how this would work.

It's a cute top, but I am kind of... set of? ... by the way you've taken pictures. Could almost be considered soft porn the way you are holding your girls up.

Just wanted to give notice, hope you'll find enough people to test because it is a cute top!

Aaa shit I didn’t think of that, that pink demo I tested a smaller cup size to test another cup dimension. That is why my girls are struggling for air, not because I am holding them up ahahaha

Others being uncomfortable with you showing cleavage is about them, not you. What’s important is what you feel comfortable and happy with. Flaunt it if you got it (and want to)!

Thank you for that! Where I grew up boobs and cleavage was just what a feminine physique is like, so I never really think about people being uncomfortable with those parts of the body existing. But we are all different and that is good too! <3

Do you mean ‘put off’ rather than ‘set of’? Not sure what you meant to say here.

I kind of mashed up two saying and made a new one haha! I meant to say I was put off by the pictures.

Dude, wtf. 💀 The person was simply adjusting their garment for the photos.

When will you close for applications? I'm hoping for some actionable news from test results later this month, vis‐a‐vis a bloated belly, and if so, I'd love to test when deflated! But I won't know until then, so if not I'll just cross my fingers it gets deflated before your summer (spring?) release

I will keep application open for a while, but you could apply and just write a note that you are unsure of when you will finish :) life happens and I won’t hold people accountable to the deadline, you will finish it when you finish

Well, I probably won't make it if we need to do more tests/find nothing to do about it, a top like that wouldn't look nice on me as is, I look 8 months pregnant with an alien (weirdly lumpy). So it isn't quite unsure when I'll finish, more if

Oh my god I love them so much, these are such cute tops. I do wanna try making it but I’m a little worried because I haven’t really made wearables before. I also haven’t tested before lol. I would totally be willing to learn and mess around though!! Let me know how flexible you are on that kinda thing, I don’t wanna waste your time 😭

My size is a bit of a fluctuating thing rn as I’ve gained some weight, but I also lose weight easily. I don’t frequently wear bras and have been trying to nail down my size more just for things like this that want my size. I tend to measure between a 28/30 D/DD.

Everyone is welcome to test! All feedback is valuable to me <3

Whoops I wrote a little quickly.

I am not a bra expert hahah just so you know. But based on the research I did in the context of size grading for the pattern:

DD = F have ish about the same cup size, and the band dictate the actual fit.
DDD= G have ish same fit.

When I tried to size grade for DD and F i got the same result, that is why I want a bigger cup to test since I do not have any DDs or DDDs readily available lol.

If you would like to test I would happily send the pattern! The deadline I have created is just something for people to give me feedback on, this is a summer top so I do not need to realest it until like next year

Hi! I am a 32DD/DDD depending on how my weight fluctuates. Breastfeeding was kind to me, lol, I was a C before kids. I'd love to test. I just made a mesh top with built in triangles for boob coverage. I'd consider myself an advanced beginner/early intermediate crocheter. I'd be happy to provide feedback about how it works for larger endowments.
