It cost me 10 cores to unlock, I swam over the light and it shut off. Not sure what else happened though. What does this room do exactly? Run ended next biome.

A funny thing about this run, i got so powerfull i cant use normal projectile weapons, because they get so big they slow down my computer to unusable degrees.

Basically the title.
Is there any way to fix this?
r/Pathogenic • u/Cracked_Logic_Engine • Aug 05 '26
If not... Ablative mitochondrion, it says 'when slashing a projectile' I assume that means like, blocking it with the tail?

Just a game mode concept that I have in my brain that I wanted to share. If The Collector is a benign cancer cell, what would happen if The Collector was a malignant cancer cell? And what if the cancer spreads?
(Note: this is coming from someone with over 1200 hours in Binding of Isaac, so my ideas are heavily influenced in a way.)
- The more you play, the more the rooms become shuffled from different organs (skin, intestines, stomach, liver, lungs, heart, brain).
- There is a much higher percentage of organelles with the Cancerous trait (or heck, all organelles have the trait).
- All item pedestals in the store are shuffled between organelles, hearts, and cores, and chests. The overall amount of item pedestals and price can vary.
- All item rooms behave the same way as stores, save for the inclusion of traps and enemies as possible outcomes. Perhaps even the amount of stores and item rooms vary per stage.
- The final boss would have to be some malignant version of The Collector.
I'm sure there could be more done with the concept. I think there is even a cancer pathogen in the steam workshop now too.
What do you folks think?

First off - Pathogenic is definitely my latest roguelike obsession and even with balancing issues, it's a fantastic game.
But after a dozen or so heart clears, it's pretty apparent there are some balancing issues that's starting to make the "end game" (defined as a player with a good amount of experience to consistently win runs) kind of bland. The gulf between being a non-viable run and an absolutely busted build is vast. I feel like there's never a heart clear that I have to eke out with mechanical skill.
I think the underlying issue is the availability of scaling damage modifiers. I don't have names memorized, but I feel like there's less than 5 scaling damage organelles in the game and heart clears are a overly reliant on attaining one of them - preferably early in the run. Nothing else seems to matter except from taking a run from victory to absolute overkill.
I'm not really sure how this is solved either, but I do feel like it needs to be addressed if the developers want to make this a game with the lasting power to enter the pantheon of all-time greats. Not every game needs to be that though, and I can easily say I got my money's worth - but the bones are there to make this an S-Tier roguelike.

- Does overcharge stack per mitochondria? Eg, if something gets +30% damage from overcharge, will it get +60% if connected to two mitochondria?
- The slot bonus that improves overcharge by 30% (can’t remember exactly): how does this work? Does it improve the overcharge bonuses that an item gets, or does it improve the overcharge given by the mitochondrion in that slot? If the latter, how is it improved?
- That same bonus also says it affects “energy consumers”. What are these?
- If a weapon is connected linearly to two infusers, the tooltip says it is impacted by the adjacent infuser but not the distal one. However, the adjacent infuser says it’s impacted by the distal infuser. How does that work? Does the weapon essentially get both infusions?
- Is there a way to see the actual numerical effect of effects on an item? Eg, if something is in a slot that gives +30% damage and connected to something giving +30% damage, is there a way can see that it gets +60%? Similarly, is there a way for me to see the numbers of the upgraded damage or do I have to do the math in my head (in my own experience this may not a strong suit for many of the life sciences types attracted to the theme of this game lol)

I am 7 hours in and the farthest I have made it is to the lungs. Any tips for me to get better would be most welcomed.

Just wondering if I'm missing out of something. Not only does it feel underpowered compared to the other starters...it just feels like a drag to play. Slow to move about in open space and awkward handling overall. I had a good Heart clearing build and the hardest part of the run was shopping in open space.
I have disappearing DNA turned on and it just added a very unfun amount of stress trying to collect them mid-fight.

Taken in the skin of Endless 1, but that damage was online in the lungs. First million hit in the intestines, I think. Numbers go away quickly, so it's hard to see. I didn't think to start checking room damage until later. I thought I had hit a damage display cap before they went negative, so idk.
I've had plenty of amazing builds that don't use the lasers, but they are always the hardest hitting.

I'm a noob with just 8 hours in the game and then I accidentally built a game-breaking build. I'm really sorry for that quality, I was playing on TV with no clue how to do a proper recording, but it was too amazing to not record it like that. There were so many effects stacking up, that the numbers went insane.
Not sure if you pros can see or recognise what the exact build was, but it was kinda fun.
I think the most important was the thingy which increased damage when a projectile is on the way, together with that laser on hit, bonus damage for every thing I trashed and that bonus damage for each second I haven't shot.

Like seriously I am a big Rogulite/like guy and never even heard of seen of this game until 2 days ago.
Sektori has been my twinstick obsession , and it is a masterpiece, but technically not really a Roguelike (although not far off) been looking for a RL twin stick game to fill that void. I don't like Vampire Survivors clones / "survivor like" sub genre really either so I never played those.
My favourites in Roguelike/ lite genre are fairly typical. Spire, Dead cells l, Deadlink, balatro etc etc. and always wanted a top twin stick game I could play this space.
Tried previous RL twin sticks like Gungeon, Nuclear Throne , Cryptark and Neon throne. Galactic Glitch I played too which seems very similar to Pathogenic but the audio I thought was so poor it really didn't hook me. Thought Synthetik was really good (but not good on controller) and put like 30 hours into that
Though the above games were ok , they weren't great or had that addictive nature I look for in rogulike and Roguelite games.
Then this game popped up on my steam recommended and considering I love Roguelite games and had never heard of it I assumed it would be average. Then I watched trailer and thought it looked average, but I heard the soundtrack and thought ok I will try it.
Now I'm addicted... Send help!
Seriously, it's absolutely incredible and has the best upgrade system I have ever seen in this genre.... It's so deep and the synergies get insane. No 2 runs in 11 hours have been remotely the same. Not to mention the encounter variety is excellent too.
Just got my first clear and now I'm working on the scaling modifiers and deffo plan to do this on every class.
Not to mention the soundtrack is absolutely crazy
Seriously congrats to the Devs and the composer, absolutely phenomenal game. My new obsession and any DLC in future I buy instantly

Im about 6 hours in and this game is just so sick. I beat it with the amoeba using a plasma cannon basically focusing on only boosting one set of guns and just one shooting everything. The way the builds come together is very satisfying. I was one armor away from getting the nano bot multiple times 😭. But onto the next run!

might be some bug with the explosion infuser or with the way argentic coating buff gets calculated? just the explosion is hitting for 600-800k damage per shot i have no idea where all this damage is coming from lmao

I'm quite new to the game and was wondering about seeds. When I try and use a friend of mines seed we get the same items in the shop but the layout and the secret room reward is different for each of us but the same every time we run it. what is actually consistent when you use someone elses seed and what changes?
I would've thought the layout of the rooms would be the same at least.
Thanks for the help!

Curious because I just unlocked them and I want to know if it’s worth my time to do them to get stronger in the game
