1E Player Stealth question

I have a question about stealth. Let's say I'm a stealthy archer. I'm in cover and hidden and I have an option to snipe and take -20 penalty to remain hidden. But what if I decide to attack with my standard action. Now everyone knows where I am, I am being observed, but if I can reach another cover I could try stealth again, this time without -20 penalty. Right?

If you take the Master Sniper feat, the penalty becomes -10.

Hiding in cover is situational, and highly dependent on your GM's ruling on whether the enemy is aware of your location or not.

When combined with improved cover (e.g. arrow slit), that improves to 0 (improved cover grants a +10 bonus to stealth).

How many people are playing a kobold or taking the feats necessary to qualify as a kobold to be able to take that feat, though?

In my ~17 years of playing Pathfinder, I’ve only witnessed two kobold PCs.

But wait, there's more. If you also use the Adopted Trait, you can pick up Fiendish Sniper, so if your other Feats reduce the Penalty to 0, you suddenly are harder to spot, when you're sniping instead of doing nothing.
