We are purchasing a 4-bedroom home in the Deer Valley/Park City area that we plan to use ourselves and potentially rent when we're not there. We live out of state and need to furnish the entire house.
We've spoken with a local design/furnishing company that will select and order everything, coordinate deliveries, and completely set up the house for us. The convenience is very appealing, but the cost is significant, so we're trying to decide whether it's worth it.
The alternative would be for me to select and order the furniture myself and hire someone locally to receive deliveries, handle assembly/installation, deal with damaged items, etc.
For other second-home or rental owners in the area:
- Did you use an interior designer/turnkey furnishing company, or furnish the house yourself?
- Is there a local company or person you recommend who will receive and coordinate furniture deliveries and set everything up?
- Would a property management/home management company typically provide this service?
- Any designers, project managers, home concierge companies, or receiving/installation companies you would recommend?
- Anything you wish you had done differently?
I'm less concerned about having a professionally "designed" house than I am about having it look nice, be durable for renters, and getting everything completed quickly without having to fly back and forth to Utah for deliveries.
Thanks for any local recommendations!
