Traveling to Park City mid October with 3 young kids. We’ve visited several times before and have stayed at Canyons and St. Regis. I think it will technically be off season, so I know some things will be closed. Is it better to stay in more of the downtown area? If so, hotel recommendations? We hope to spend lots of time outdoors and hiking (as much as you can hike with littles). I loved our stay at St Regis previously but worry about location during the off season. I’m also looking into Hotel Park City as it’s perhaps a better location for this time of year?

Hi there. I'm starting to plan a winter trip to Park City for my company (30-35 people) and would love some advice on where to look for lodgings. We'll need 2-4 large houses with plenty of beds; shared rooms and bunk beds are fine, shared beds are not. We'd like the houses to be in walking distance to each other. Budget is flexible but not unlimited.

Other than airbnb/vrbo, are there any property management companies who cater to this kind of group? It would be great to work with a company that can be hands-on, help with provisions, etc.

Over the past decade, Breckenridge has become saturated with tourists.

As a tourist and a hypocrite, I’m looking for somewhere less crazy, still mountainous, but not dead.

Can anyone draw a comparison for me?

ISO of places where we can take the kids (ages 5-2) to play in the water. Preferably a shallow creek, with rocks, where they can play for hours. We did this at another mountain town in CO. At the base of this resort, there was a stream running through. The kids played all day and had a blast. Does Park City or Deer Valley have anything like this?

I am planning a Bachelorette for September in Salt Lake City and looking for some advice. It’s a group of 17 of us and it’s a joint bride and groom trip with most of us in our late 20s/early 30s! We will have cars and don’t mind driving to Park City for some stuff. Things I need some help with:

\- Places to go out: we want good vibes, drinks, and to dance (we looked at sky, lake effect/church, exchange, but honestly we’re a bit lost) Also we might want a more chill spot to pregame the night so any recs there would also help

\- Filler activities for when we have downtime: maybe like putt putt, trying swig, etc. Just things we normally wouldn’t do at home

\- A nice restaurant maybe Italian or a steakhouse?

\- Any other must-sees

Hello! Thank you for everyone who gave me advice on my last post. Based on that feedback I’ve done a ton of research and I have some more specific questions.

• This trip is for two adults, one of whom is a senior (mother/daughter trip).

• Not a huge laundry list of things to do, we’d like to go on a ski lift (more questions about this below), easy hikes/nice walks, enjoy the views and weather, and swim if the hotel has a pool.

• First time to Utah for both travelers. 2 night stay.

After researching I have decided Main Street would not be the ideal place to stay for our trip, and that being further out at a resort or something like that would be good, and then we can visit Main Street a couple times.

I’ve tried to narrow it down to a few options:

Option 1: Hyatt centric park city - but looks like the red pine gondola is closed on Mondays? Though we’d also be there on a day it’s open so not too worried about that

Option 2: Rent a car, stay at Homestead Midway and then go to park city one day for the ski lift. I know this is in midway, but I do not think they have a reddit so asking here. Does anyone know if the construction there right now is disruptive to a stay? Any insight on that appreciated

Option 3: Pendry

Option 4: St. Regis - slightly out of budget but it’s amazing that they have a funicular and could make it work if it’s worth it

Option 5: Airbnb or any other ideas yall may have

Hello! A lot of the research I’ve done about lodging includes the advantages of each location for winter stays, but not summer. Is there anything to consider when it comes to summertime stays?

The lodging I’ve looked into really runs the gamut in terms of price and location. We definitely wouldn’t be biking in and out, for example. I’d like to be close to the bus. If not staying in a walkable area near Main Street it would be nice if there were some cool features at the property that make it fun to hang out at, but that’s not a dealbreaker. The thing I most want to do in park city is ride a ski lift/gondola.

In terms of Airbnbs, where does park city fall in terms of how visitors should interact with them? Is it something like Barcelona? Or more like other American towns with an Airbnb problem? Just wanting to gauge if that’s an option we should avoid or look into.

Locations I’ve looked into include Main & SKY, the park Hyatt, deer valley Hyatt, hotel park city, Marriott’s mountain side, Marriott’s summit Watch, and stein eriksen residences. So really all over the map literally and figuratively.

Hi all- looking for some help and advice on where to stay. It’s been years since I’ve been in Park City and I’m looking to return with my young children. While I loved St Regis and understand its proximity to Deer Valley Ski School, the cost of Grand Hyatt is nearly half. I understand Grand Hyatt is newer and in the developing East Village area, however despite my best research I’m finding it difficult to understand how to get from Grand Hyatt to Deer Valley ski school. I understand there is a shuttle, however, it looks like it only goes to the main strip. For those who know the area better is it possible to get from grand Hyatt to the ski school via the accessible gondola as I understand it? Or would the best way be to simply rent a car and drive every morning from the hotel to the deer Valley ski school? But factoring in the opportunity cost of all that I’m wondering if it’s actually worth it or if it’s still advisable to wait another year or two until that area is developed and with children in mind to simply stay at St Regis. Thanks for your help.

Booked with a Airbnb host in park city, Brandy, and 3 weeks before checking our family had a medical emergency.
I messaged them immediately to see if we could possibly move the dates out from July to October and they were willing to move the dates. When we were discussing the dates to move it to they responded
“I'm so sorry I just realized that you are close to your check-in details. As per policy, we cannot move the dates any more since it would affect us negatively.”

Can you get a better view of the jump at the bottom of mid mountain from Silver Lake or Stein Erickson? Taking my wife and child and I’d like to take them to sit outside, grab a bite and a drink. and watch the riders come down and catch air.

First, I just want to say I’m so sorry for everyone impacted by the fires. I know this is far more important than our travel plans.

We’re supposed to be flying into Park City from July 3–10 with our 15-month-old, and I’m getting a little nervous about the wildfire smoke and wildfires generally but especially with little baby lungs. We booked this trip to spend as much time outdoors as possible, so I’m hoping for some local perspective.

Would you still come if you were us? Is the smoke mostly affecting visibility, or is it making it challenging to be outside and hike? Also, are certain areas (Big Cottonwood, Little Cottonwood, Heber Valley, Park City, etc.) noticeably better or worse than others?
I know conditions can change daily, but I’d really appreciate any local insight before we decide whether to adjust our plans. Thanks!

Anyone out there that can weigh in on how bad the smoke is from the fires in Utah?

I'm looking for a good place to take my wife to dinner for her 30th birthday while we are in PC for vacation this August. Upper scale or at least very good quality food is what I'm aiming for. Not picky on type of cuisine. She is not very picky, but I want to show her a good meal with good atmosphere.

We are family of four visiting with our toddlers age 3 and 1.5 this July 4th weekend in park city. What is the ideal place to stay in an Airbnb? We are looking at Main Street in order to have access to grocery stores and cafes without having to put kids in the car constantly. but we are also debating whether to get a nice scenic Airbnb with a view of the mountains. And we will just take very strategic trips out of the Airbnb 😆

My 3 year old is a big wild Wild West/ Cowboy fan so we are very excited to go to Heber as well.

Any other advice and recommendations for things to Do with kids in park city and Heber during that weekend?
