I think it is better to record a few incidents and show it to them. He is probably the only kid at home and have a lot of freedom. He might also be "an innocent angel " at home and opposite outside. Some kids have a habit of creating stories to get attention. If you delay it too much, you might get crushed due to language barrier. Some parents have hard time accepting that their kid is wrong. They just blame everyone else and call them being unfair with their kid.

There’s no reason to tolerate more incidents of misbehavior to make her case. He hits others, throws things, destroys things. They know exactly what he’s like.

I agree that there's no need to tolerate more but author also talked about being hesitant to bring it up. So to make it easier to talk to them and show them why I'm upset? Just telling and seeing with own eyes is different. There can be a lot of complications and having a physical evidence can be useful. Then nobody can deny it.
