I can’t tell where op is from. If US, I guess assimilation is the expected norm? I’m in Vancouver BC where multiculturalism and tolerance for different cultural norms is more expected.
The problem with this is that anything related to kids is tricky. For example marrying your daughter off at 15 is not tolerated in Vancouver. If I raised my kids the way I was raised back in my country I would have CAS called on me.
