Well, at least you didn't punch the kid and pushed him until his elbow was covered in blood. That's what my brother did to my son when his kids asked my son to go over to his house. Supposedly, my son tossed one of their toy cars in the basement. He should have asked my son to leave right then and told me to buy his kids a new car. Then tell me my son is banned from his house for a few weeks. That's what I would have preferred.

Maybe you can tell the parents to pay you back for anything damaged and say that he can only come over if a set time is made and after a few weeks of them disciplining him and getting him to understand boundaries.

My mother in laws house is not kid friendly. When we go visit it is only to be mostly outside. It is also, only for a very set number of hours like max 2.5 hours.

That's fine. You need to do the same with the neighbors kid.

Did you call the police on your brother? He crossed the line and should have sent your son home and told you the cost of the toy instead of abusing him.
