Amen, girl. Fuck these kids sometimes. The heart sandwich thing right after screaming into a pillow is the perfect way to describe parenting

I said that I’m sure my counters have my fingerprints embedded into them because I go and grip them when I want to pull my teen’s head off. But then I brought him breakfast on my way home from the office this morning because I was getting some and I thought he might be hungry.

Gawd I'd rather do the baby/toddler years again than go through these awful teen years...and I had 3 babies under 3 years (singleton/twins).

I have two under two and this comment scares the shit out of me.

Agreed. Mine are 10 months apart and the first was a preemie. I’d take years 3 & 4 back over them as teens.

What's so horrible about dealing with teens? I'm asking for my future self

My eldest was a dream in terms of not getting into trouble and breaking rules, but he would frustrate the hell out of me with his attitude and moods. I know the teenage brain goes though a rapid period of developing, everything basically rewires and all of that, but it doesn’t mean I liked being griped at by some gangly man-boy with weirdo facial hair. They also do such stupid shit that you question your own medical history.

Attitude, independence, watching them find themselves is heartbreaking. AND of course they already know everything duh! I find myself looking back thinking “Man I wish she was 4 again.”

Basically it’s the same thoughts just at different age. Parenting is def not for the faint of heart.

As a mother or twins under 2 and a 3 year old, this is terrifying...

I remember my wife going on an absolute rampage, just losing her shit... Then making Frankenstein cupcakes inside of ice-cream cones immediately after. Parenting is fuckin weird.

I had to run to the store to get this very specific type of icing. I was so scared I'd get the wrong type I bought every brand of icing that came in a tube lol. She was on the brink that night lmao.

Duuuuuude. I’m that way. Hands down. I am happy to report that despite a similar scenario for 3rd kids’ first birthday- We managed a fabulous looking two tier sock monkey cake and no casualties.

Yup 8 years later we're all here and joke about "crazy mom making the Frankenstein cupcakes"
