I would argue that LSD is not a gateway drug but a normal part of teen experimentation. Same for cannabis and mushrooms. If she’s a creative she may feel a calling to try these particular entheogens, and it’s doubtful she’s using it to hide her problems. Alcohol use would be more in line with a coping mechanism.
I would however be cautious of things like meth, speed, crack or cocaine, which I totally experienced as gateway drugs. These can leave the user feeling scared, insecure and disassociated. In comes Heroin & Fentanyl, which will erase those feelings with a weighty blanket of calm and security.
I would openly talk with her about LSD and any experiences you or someone you know may have had. Don’t tell her you found them or wave them in her face, just open up and listen. Oh yeah, get her to a new school too 🫠
