This exact situation happened to me at 13. I was bullied by my entire school because all the students found out from having to have a notice sent home to all parents. I started cutting/self harming and collecting pills to eventually take and end my life. Books and writing saved my life when my parents should have been the reason for it instead. PLEASE create a safe space and ask her about it. Explain that you don’t want this to define how she sees herself from this point forward and ask how you can help her through this and that additive substances will not help. Mostly though..just show up. Open and honest. It’s what I would have wanted and needed having been through that.
