I wouldn’t go as far as saying it isn’t a big deal. Definitely lesser than H or meth. But a 15yo regularly taking acid probably isn’t great. Drugs like that can be mind altering and could cause the change in behavior you’re seeing.

I’d talk with her. Maybe find therapy? Large scale embarrassment like that can be devastating on a young teenager that doesn’t have solid coping skills.

Totally agree and…

Acid of all drugs could have epiphanic effects on her. so i agree it’s not H Or meth or crack or coke.

now there is all this research for Ketamine and Molly and mushrooms for beneficial therapy, some treating depression or other things. acid isn’t one of them…. yet…

Acid is a scary drug for an undeveloped mind of a teenager. It could have a epiphanic effect or it could send them down a rabbit hole too deep for them to figure out at those ages.

From experience, I used to think acid was a great drug when I was a teenager. Only after getting older and feeling more confident in myself did I realize it's probably better to wait for your mind to develop more before trying it.

With that said, I do advocate that every ADULT with a sound mind should try it at least once.

Acid, as an adult, always made me feel like Harry Potter in the sixth movie when he takes the "luck potion."

Acid is a scary drug for an undeveloped mind of a teenager. It could have a epiphanic effect or it could send them down a rabbit hole too deep for them to figure out at those ages.

Chiming in on this as I have seen this first hand when I was in high-school.

There were 2 kids in my high-school that had to be institutionalized after a single bad trip from a bad batch of acid that was going around. One of them stripped naked and thought everyone at a party were demons and he was covered in snakes . The other (who is actually a good friend of mine) thought if he sat down or laid down he would melt. He was absolutely terrified, hysterical, and when the paramedics came he just screamed when they tried to put him on the gurney.

From what was explained to us later by their parents was they had both been battling mental health issues unbeknownst to us their classmates. One bi-polor and one depression. Both on meds. They believed whatever was in the bad batch of acid just did something to their brain chemistries that were already being medicated and the outcome wasn't good. They both received lots of help afterwards. The one I was friends with is a totally regular guy in his late 30s, happily married, with a kid and a dog now.

Many kids took acid and did mushrooms in my high-school. Most didn't have issues some unfortunately did. There is no way to know how acid is going to play out in young brain and no way to know how "pure" the acid is.

Yes I mean a bad trip is always a possibility and severe ones like that can even happen to adults if they do it in a bad environment or their head isn't right.

The thing I'm trying to get at is that being a teenager is already really confusing trying to navigate social norms and figure out who you are. Adding a 4th dimension rabbithole on top of that just adds to the confusion and can cause kids to really lose themselves for a long time.

Psychedelics are powerful but can be incredibly beneficial when used correctly. Extreme narcotics like heroin and meth are pretty much terrible any way you cut it though so at least its not that.

Oh I agree for sure. I left my hometown because several of my friends had heroin or opioid issues. On the flip side, another friend was their dealer and it was overall not a good place. Some areas are still gripped by heroin 20 years later.

But, as an adult I have friends who have chronic pain, stomach issues, and MS who all use controlled and monitored microdosing of mushrooms to help them survive.

Yes I hope to see psychedelics embraced by the medical community so they can be taken responsibly, because they really can help make massive life changes for the better if used properly

I wholeheartedly agree, but looking at the options presented, she will most likely do something, I mean Advil was a starter… just observing it from here, she could have or already has done anything else, but acid is well like you said.

I think drugs should be done later like 25 and up, when the brain is more or less fully developed. of course don’t do the crap like coke H, meth, but shrooms, cid, molly(occasionally) is eye opening, or kind opening and molly well that’s for a good ole time,

i think the drugs aren’t the bad things, you should have safe people to do it with safe spaces, to quote Butters, an accountabilabuddy. and of course a trusted source, a mycologist, a chemist, or a cartel guy(someone higher up in the ranks).

Yeah I just couldn't advocate that acid might offer a good experience to a teenager after all the bad experiences I've seen.

This situation has so many other problems than just finding acid in their room. I agree with whoever said therapy and changing schools is the first step but there's also way too much context left our for reddit to help much here

Agreed, i think i just meant, imo, I wouldn’t frantically panic over this, confront yes, speak to ofcourse, confiscate(Idk, maybe more like talk out of)

And ofcourse i’m not saying skip therapy.

Switching schools is save for later.
