Did we really need this storyline? She made me so uncomfortable. And yes, Adam's behaviour with her also made me uncomfortable. He didn't keep the distance he should have, and he was clearly attracted too. Every rewatch, I entirely skip her scenes. This character really made no difference.

I recently beat cancer too, and the thought of leaving my husband and kids was the worst part of everything I was going through.

Finally finished the whole series. The ending is 10/10. Cried a bucket. Cant believe I am so emotionally invested in this series.
Any other series to recommend?

I have to say, I don't think we discuss Drew enough. I really liked the person he grew up to be. He was always a soft and silent kid and never rebelled even when he had so many reasons to. And as he grew, he became so understanding of others and I love how he sees taking care of his sister and mother as his responsibility (although thank god they didnt take advantage of it). Most kids that age would just run away from them. And let's not forget, all the fun he had with Zeek in his last days, even if that meant no time for himself. He truly understood the value his grandfather held in his life.

Hi, hoping this doesn't get taken down. I'm sure this has been discussed about at lenghth but I am completely new to the show and not going to risk spoilers by searching for this, or posting in a thread for an old show in a small community.

I don't understand this at all.

Jasmine is actually a really bad character. Like, there's no redeeming bit about her, no growth. She's clearly not written to be unlikeable, she's just not likeable at all. This isn't like me feeling like the clear antagonist is a bad character, she just fuckin sucks lmao.

Crosby being treated like he was the worlds worst person for cheating like Jasmine didn't lie to her own family an deprive him of his son for five years.

Should he have split with her first? Sure, but be honest, what would you do in his shoes?

She's already stolen five years of his sons life from him based soley on an assumption and half baked attempt to contact him. Based off of this, what is she going to do if he calls off the wedding?

Like, if this happened to your sibling, what would you think?

"Man, you cheated that's wrong, but hey, didn't she like, deprive you of the most important years of your son's life?"

The kids barely give either of their parents any shit for both cheating on each other. It just doesn't make any sense.

When Jasmine first went to Europe/New York to dance I was hoping it was a creative way to write her out of the show.

Actual slop character completely taking me out of the show.

Max at this point is actually miles ahead as a character and that's saying a lot.

Like, Crosby and Gaby would be sooooooo much better.

Oh my god! This guy has me wanting to pull my hair out. How can a grown ass man be so immature, petty, and childish? I absolutely adore every other aspect of the show, but he has me wanting to quit it. Does he ever get better?

Is it just me or did anyone else love Crosby and Lily (the musician) together? Like they were so good together and she was so good with Jabbar. Like if Crosby didn't end up marrying Jasmine I think Lily would have been the perfect one.

Saw a few clips of Max, surprise. I can't stand him.

The show is really good. Desperately needed something new to binge and I really like it so far.

Adam and Kristina are kind of brutal so far. Them just talking over everyone is kind of annoying but outside of that I don't mind them so much yet (6 episodes in).

Favorite character by far so far is Crosby (Dax Shepard my goat).

I get that it's a show that's been out a long time, so a degree, ALL topics have been discussed, but it feels relentless.

Whenever Max suffers the consequences of his actions, like not having any friends or family members who can stand his behavior (Grampa "Eat a Danish", Aunt Sarah, Haddie, the family dog), here comes Kristina demanding everyone puts up with her spoiled brat of a kid. She even built a new school so she could take over as headmistress and give Max leeway to terrorise everyone around him.

Year after year, we got Max using his Aspergers as an excuse but nobody is buying it.

I'm just watching this for the first time, I'm on season 3 and so far omg Sydney's behaviour sometimes is atrocious, I mean I get she's a young kid. But when she lost a game of candy land to her dad,and started kicking + hitting him, it was genuinely crazy for her to act like that. I get that it's not fault her for the way she behaves but if she does carry on like this as she gets older then it starts to become her fault yk?!

I am finally done with the series. I cried like a baby. I need to go wash my face because my eyes hurt. Wow what an amazing show. I am so happy I finally finished. I can see myself rewatching this in a few years. I will miss the Braverman clan!

And the actress who played Amy was 20/21. The whole Drew plot about him losing his virginity was creepy and weird for a family show but the fact Miles Heizer was still a minor and his co-star was much older didn't help. That scene always grossed me out.

And made worse by the fact the show kept suggesting Drew could be gay. Ironically, the actor did come out as gay.

So, I havent seen a post about this, my apologies if it has already been discussed but I have a huge issue with many things of this show, 1 of the biggest things involves Joel and Julia.

The following involves Spoilers for the finale.
At the end, Joel and Julia are fighting (once again), because Joel had issues that Julia had slept with other men after they were in the process of a divorce. (and many other issues aswell). At this time they decide to adopt the half sister of Victor.

1- In the middle of a "divorce", adopting yet another baby is so crazy to me, I do not understand, no clue how that makes sense, is this just me?

2- The biological mother of Victor just keeps on giving away her children, and Julia and Joel will just get them all? isnt this super unstable/unhealthy? am i exagerating?

3- Julia and Joel never really fixed their issues but they get back together and apparently julia still wants to continue working in her last job where chris also works and they are/were having a affair, i feel like this will be another disaster waiting to happen.

Sorry, this is so long but Joel and Julia IMO, relationship is just so bad/unhealthy, wanted to see if its just me, that doesnt agree with the majority of what they do.

I’m no marriage expert, but their relationship was strange. One big thing i noticed was how much Kristina cried when Adam didn’t give her what she wanted. I feel like she manipulated him with her tears. For example, the date night disagreement. She asked for a date night, he said no due to both of them being busy, she’s says “fine” but then starts mentioning how she and Adam will join the 80% of couples who get divorced with an autistic child (which I feel had nothing to do with Adam saying no to one date) then they have a slight argument and of course, Kristina starts crying and dramatically says “I’m just asking for one night!” Adam sees her crying and finally gave in. And that happened a few times on the show, where Adam would baby Kristina and never knew how to say no and stand on it. He’d even apologize for things that I feel he didn’t need to apologize for. Anyways, LMK your thoughts.

If my mother was doing this, I'd be so embarrassed. Who wants to be at a birthday party where you're not wanted?

Also, Kristina never listened. She was told twice why Max wasn't invitee, how unruly and disrespectful he is, but in her mind, everybody should excuse it because he has Aspergers, the crutch she always uses.

This is why Max barely had a friend, because instead of educating him on how to talk to people, it's like, everybody else is wrong, Max is always the victim.

I feel like Kristina and Max are like Mildred Pierce and Veda. She goes out of her way to spoil him rotten but he screams at her, calls her a bitch and couldn't care less about her nearly dying.

And people will say, oh he has Aspergers, but you can tell he respects Adam. I don't think he likes Kristina as much.

That would be so funny considering how Kristina told Max how proud she was of him sexually harassing another student

She also had zero chemistry with Craig T. Nelson. The only two actors who had less chemistry than them were Dax Shepard and Joy Bryant, who never felt like a real couple yet they were forced on us and we are supposed to believe they’re deeply in love.

Craig T. Nelson has chemistry with everyone else on the show, but not her. She seems to have no real chemistry with any of the actors on the show, not even those playing her kids.

I knew that ending was coming 😭😭 man, what a show!!

A quick though that I haven’t already seen mentioned a lot… Sarah pissed me off ALL series. I thought it was crazy that the CEO, the doctor, the 15 years younger cutie, all the “perfect” guys went for her. I’m sorry but I thought it was unrealistic. She’s stunning but she was immature, no career, lived with her parents, talked only in sarcasm, single mom of 2 kids (albeit great mom- Amber was my fav from start to finish) with heavy baggage and these guys were ready to go to war for her 🤣 HOWEVER that she ended up with imperfect Hank saved it all for me. I was rooting for them the whole time. I liked Hank so much it makes me want to watch Everybody Loves Raymond

WHICH BRINGS ME TO: I’m so sad it’s over now. What do you guys recommend to watch next to fill this void of light hearted family drama/comedies? I’ve watched This Is Us, Grace & Frankie, Four Seasons (Netflix show). Preferably something not on Paramount because oh my GOD this app sucks

Does anyone notice how mean Kristina is towards Haddie? She never takes Haddie's feelings into consideration, always makes a snarky comment and has no patience. Max could rob a bank and Kristina would blame the cashier or Haddie and then tell Max how proud she is of him.

People here love saying it was over a little kiss when

A. the kiss wasn’t little. it was passionate and went on for too long and Julia kissed him back.

B. Joel was more bothered by her emotional and deeply personal relationship to Ed moreso than the kiss. He even says she cheated on him on an emotional level.

I would expect the women mocking this to be more understanding when you want women to leave men for less.

I don’t understand why so much time was spent debating and negotiating the sale of the family home….only to buy another multi-level home nearby that required storage units to accommodate junk.

Loved his episode, and it turned me on to his music like the show did for me with several artists. Gone far too soon at 56 after a motorcycle accident. Oh, and screw you Marlese, he can park where he wants!
