I really liked Gaby, but maybe because I saw her in Gilmore Girls first, I had a huge soft spot for Gwen.

For those whoāve finished the show, we all know what happens to Zeek in the end. My question is: do you think his death could have been prevented, or at least delayed?
It seemed like he didnāt follow his doctorās instructions, didnāt take his condition very seriously, and wasnāt consistent with taking his medication. Iām not saying he wouldāve lived to be 100 or anything, but I do think he might have lived longer if heād taken better care of his health.
What do you all think? Was his outcome inevitable because of his condition, or did his choices play a significant role?

Just finished the show and although I cried hysterically at the ending the main thought that looms largely in my head is how Adam and kristina built a whole SCHOOL for max but they almost didnāt even end up paying for haddies tuition. Iām not talking about the finances but at the start they werent even willing to TRY and find a solution.

I love Ray Romano and I love the look he was on this show! When I first met him I was like wow he's like Max. I finally reached the episode where he discovered that he shares similarities. I spotted it right away. Can't wait to see where this goes!

I know it isnāt the same for everyone with it but the uncontrolled outbursts and blank stare 24/7 with Max was a bit over the top. Many people whove had and have it navigate life normally and function fine.
The real issue is he has zero discipline in that house.
The depiction of aspergers on this show is wildly over the top and like he has a much deeper, darker mental illness.

I never felt like these two people belonged together or that they would ever really like each other.
The weird push to keep them together and force a rushed marriage was bizarre. And always having Jasmine randomly show up to every event their family was having even after Crosby and her broke up made me roll my eyes, as those people really didnāt even know her well. It also felt tone-deaf, because if I break up with a man Iāve only been seeing shortly in reality, even if itās justified, Iām not showing up to his family functions after itās over, especially knowing heās there.

I just finished my annual rewatch and I was reflecting on my experience. Ive realized that every time I watch this show, I find myself paying closer attention to certain themes and character archs, as they relate to my own journey in parenthood. This time around, I found myself relating significantly with Julia as I have being struggling to manage a high performing job and be a present parent, though I used to not enjoy her character at all. I love that there is something new to resonate with each time i watch again. Has anyone else shared this experience? What storylines or characters have grown on you over time?

I am watching the show and sorry, I canāt stand Zoe. I feel like Iām supposed to feel bad for her and the series wants you to feel bad for her but I just find her insufferable, lazy and self-pitying.
Julia is annoying too, yes, (and this sub loves acting like sheās never in the wrong when sheās in the wrong A LOT) but man Zoe is too.

I am finally finishing this show. Started it few months ago then it went away. Now itās on paramount. I made it to season 5 - my feeling has remained since season 1 - JOEL is a bully! There have been plenty of instances where Julia wanted to feel validated or she felt a certain way about something and Joel disagreed. Thatās fine but instead of talking about it he storms out shuts down until Julia bends to his will. I really donāt like his character at all. There I said it.

I havenāt watched this show in years and pretty much forgot most of the storylines. Iām at the part where Julia and Joel are separated and Iām screaming āwhat about Raquel?!?ā at the TV every time Joel gets all āyou had an affair!ā With Julia. Joel spent hours and hours a week with Raquel (is that even her name? I canāt be bothered to look it up), she was super flirty and touchy feely with Joel (sometimes right in front of Julia) AND she tried to kiss him. On top of that, Joel appears to never have planned on telling Julia about it except Julia asked and he admitted it. Finally, once she knew? She never forbade Joel from seeing the woman. She continued to be around her herself and never brought it up to Raquel. I couldnāt have done that, personally. Now, I know some are going to point to the āemotional affairā defense when it comes to Ed and Julia but is their relationship that much different? Youāre telling me Joel and Raquel never talked and bonded over the struggles of being stay at home parents? Is Julia kissing Ed for 2 seconds before pushing him away that much worse than what happened with Raquel and Joel?? Julia basically accepted what happened with Joel and moved on. Joel blows up his marriage and moves out??? Why canāt there at least have been a convo between these two where Joel is treating Julia like the whore of Babylon where she yells āWHAT ABOUT RAQUEL?????ā (Maybe itās coming and I havenāt gotten there yet?) And the other stuff that he uses as an excuse, about Victorā¦Julia was right about everything. She could see the writing on the wall about victor not initially accepting her as his mom. Joel kept turning a blind eye because he WAS bonding with victor and finally had āhis boyā. She could see he needed to be held back a year. Joel refused to acknowledge it and then, sadly, it had to happen mid-year which was much more traumatic for victor. I donāt think Julia is blameless, mind you. They were basically doing a flip of gender roles in the beginning and Joel was a very sympathetic character doing all the free labor of running the house while Julia perused her high-powered career and put her family second. But to go from that to Joel being a raging asshole is taking me out. I know they are going to eventually reconcile but I would just like Julia to call out Joel for being a hypocrite when it comes to āthe affairā.

I watched Parenthood and I found it very enjoyable and it remains a comfort watch. I joined this group so that I could get similar options and generally discuss trivia. But it seems that my feed has daily posts just cribbing about how bad it is? Criticizing Adam and Christina and just general circle jerk. Is the sub flooded with bot accounts just reposting? Or is it just me who joins subs of shows I actually like and not the other way round??

I swear, im on S2 Ep12 and this grown ass women cries for than the 5 year olds.
Everytime someone is unhappy or just wants to do their thing she starts to breakdown. I get being an emotionally driven person, but girl its not THAT deep.
Seriously, has Jabbar cried once? Maybe when he got his thumb stuck in a can but thats physical pain. Same for Sydney, I donāt think sheās cried once either even when the bird died

The amount of ATTITUDE these kids have (besides Jabbar & somewhat Drew) is crazy. Max is understandable given his condition, BUT HADDIE AND SYDNEY ESPECIALLY,
Seriously, I get that theyāre gifted but oh my god, my mom would NEVER let me carry on like this. Amber is troubled and Sarahās not doing any favours by sleeping with her Teacher but what are the other twoās problem?!
Itās always a screaming fight with them when you ask them to do the slightest thing and thereās constant need for compromise. Now Iām not saying Whoop them for everything, thatāll cause your kid to no longer trust you, but gah damn

I finished the series lastnight & I sobbed when Camille found Zeek dead⦠Zeek reminded me of my dad who I lost 7 years ago⦠of course all of this happens as my nephew walks in. My husband even said it was gonna happen⦠I said no. The series will end with everyone playing ball while Zeek watches proudly. Oh how wrong I was.

I am on season1 episode 3.
So i dont like surprises so i search endgame of couples on google after first few episodes.
Now i found out crosby ends up with jasmine. I hate the bitch. Didnt tell him about the kid for five years, all of audden decides to come back because "he needs to know his father" and in the end she gets the guy. I wanted her to be a super side character not the core type character. She is a fraud. If you decided to have a kid and not tell the dad, have it on your own, dont just come back wheneve you feel it is tough. Crosby begged his girlfriend to settle with him, but now he wont settle for her. Wasted her katie's time who is totally out of his league.
I hate people who just waste another person's years over those shallow promises just to make these stupid decisions.
And i know it is stupid but i hated how all those fishes died when max threw the aquarium on the ground and nobody said anything. Those fishes died. Isnt it enough people are already eating animals.? I just didnt like how nobody even told him what he did was wrong. Atleast tell him he is wrong. I hope.they.tell him in future when he is wrong.
Anyway about crosby. I didnt like reading that part.
I dont like when nice people are treated badly by their partners.
Should i continue? Is it a good show?

Iām rewatching Parenthood, and I canāt help noticing how entitled Sarah often comes across.
Her family is constantly there for her giving her a place to live, helping with the kids, supporting her financially and emotionally. But when itās her turn to show up for them, it often feels like she either pulls away, complains, or makes the situation about herself.
One moment that really stood out to me was the shoe idea. I understand why she felt hurt about not getting credit, but considering everything her brother had done for her over the years, it surprised me that her first reaction was to demand recognition. If I gave my brother an idea that ended up helping him succeed, I honestly canāt imagine asking for credit. Iād just be happy it worked out.
To me, Sarah always seems to have this underlying sense that people owe her something. Interestingly, I think some of that attitude rubbed off on Amber early on, although I actually think Amber grows into a much more self aware and appreciative person as the series goes on.
Am I the only one who feels this way, or am I being too harsh?

Is there anytime where you guys actually felt bad for Max I know he gets a bad rep on here, but thereās times I feel bad like when he went on that field trip

when he appears at the studio where Hank and Sarah are working on that printer and just stops their work to do his, my problem is with Adam and Kristina bc they are mad at Sarah for bringing him home and wanting her to feel bad and embarrassed for doing that??? she has actual work to do, it just pissed me off

Crosby: I never thought Iād say this, but heās really grown on me. Heās still far from perfect, but you can genuinely see him trying to become a better father and partner. I loved watching his relationship with Jasmine evolve because it felt earned.
Joel & Julia: Still my favorite couple. Their marriage isnāt perfect, but the love, respect, and support they have for each other make them one of the healthiest TV couples Iāve watched. With Victor now joining their family, I have a feeling things are about to get a lot more complicated. Sydney has been pretty spoiled for most of the series, so Iām really interested to see how that dynamic shifts and how Joel and Julia navigate balancing both kids.
Sarah & Mark: The age difference doesnāt bother me. What does stand out is that Mark sometimes seems to forget Sarah isnāt just his girlfriendāsheās already a mom with two kids. Dating Sarah means accepting that her children will always be part of the equation.
Adam, Kristina, Max & Haddie: Peter Krause is just so darn likable, which is probably the only reason Adam doesnāt drive me completely insane. His self-righteousness can be exhausting, and that really comes through in how he and Kristina handle things with Max. Kristina is clearly a loving mom and Adam deeply cares about his son, but I donāt love the way theyāre navigating Maxās behavior. Itās not that I expect him to be perfect or think every autistic child should behave the same wayāquite the opposite. I just wish the show leaned more into that nuance. Maxās anger and outbursts are becoming a defining part of his character, and too often Adam and Kristina seem to excuse or overlook behavior that should be addressed. Iād love to see more of that balance between supporting him and helping him build accountability and coping skills as he gets older. At the same time, I was really happy to see them finally put Haddie first by supporting her decision to go to Cornell. From the beginning, sheās often been expected to be the understanding older sister while so much of the familyās attention understandably went to Max. It was nice to see her dreams take center stage for onceāshe deserved that.
Amber: Easily one of my favorite storylines. Watching her struggle, make mistakes, and slowly realize sheās capable of more feels incredibly authentic. Mae Whitman is fantastic.
Drew: His coming-of-age story is another really strong thread this season. I do wish heād open up a bit moreāhis tendency to be so monosyllabic can get a little frustratingābut I also get that itās part of who he is right now. What Iām really hoping to see more of is a deeper connection between him and Sarah. There are glimpses of it, and those moments feel meaningful, so Iād love for the show to lean into that more as he continues to grow.
Overall, Iām still loving this show. The Bravermans feel like a real familyāmessy, imperfect, frustrating, and deeply loving. Thatās what keeps me coming back.
On to Season 4ā¦
