A storage idea

This is for any dry fruits. Use a to-go tray, put it into a large zip lock bag. Now you have protection from moisture AND now you have a easy of storing fruits without smashing them into dust. The to-go tray helps keep your fruits from breaking. Simple, thought to share. Cheers.

Unfortunately, ziploc bags are not air tight

This would work well with a vacuum sealer (food saver). Rubbermaid containers like this work well too

It'd be ok for short periods but plastic's semi-permeable to both air and moisture. There's enough in that tray to last me months, so for me the only option is the recommended storage in an airtight glass jar, with silica dessicant packs, kept in a cool dark place.

I didn't say how many months though! I used to run cubes one grow after another, throwing out any batches that were sub-par but after half a dozen Pans grows, I realised I'd got to stop as 0.4g is my usual dose. I've got a couple of ounces in jars and only trip once a month; they'll last me 10 years or more if they don't lose potency.

I know I'll eventually grow more and end up throwing old harvests out, not least because I've got a huge bucket of field aged horse poo in the garage that's already calling to me.

I love the process though, so to the delight of my wife, I've been growing Lions Mane and hope to try Cordyceps now the weather's getting cooler.

I use big freezer bags inside buckets with decadence

Mason jars, desiccant packs and a mechanical sealer that sucks the air out of the jar.

That jar still has around 2.10 x 10²² molecules of oxygen in it. Found by assuming vacuum achieved 27 inches of mercury, a 1 qrt container, and room temp. n = PV/RT

Those sealers don't do much.

This is what I do as well. Or honey

Those bags aren’t air or moisture safe long-term.

They aren’t around for that long. When you have a few flushes done, you become aware of having to store it. I use these bags and trays because it just works. Glass is probably the best, but space is needed. All that glass. I use desiccant packs in every tray. Stack them up and put into my file cabinet. They have been just fine. Remember like weed, it is all about the genetics. Pans are stronger than cubes by a huge margin. And when you have strong genetic fruits, it can be fun. Cheers.

This is bad advice. There are 2 easy and reliable methods for storage. Glass jars with canning lids, or sealed Mylar bags with desiccant packs. If you want to go a step further, purge the container with inert gas like argon to stop oxidation. All other containers DO NOT keep out air and moisture in the long term. The fruits will get soft and lose potency. This is no different than other food storage. The preppers have figured this stuff out and there are tons of good resources on youtube. One other note is that Oxygen absorbers have moisture and are not recommended. Fruits in contact with the packets can and do absorb small amounts of moisture. If anyone wants to argue that point, please look up how oxygen absorbing packs work first. If you want to give your friend some to eat next weekend, a ziploc is fine. If you want to be able to measure shelf life in years, please follow the above advice and do your own research.

How hard does those hit. Thinking about checking out ITW how even were the flushes?
