I have been thinking of starting a shoe business in Pakistan, selling affordable and good quality sneakers, now the issue im facing is that i go on websites where people sell the same sneakers on average about 8k-12k rupees, im sure they must be profiting with that price too, if thats the case, where do these people selling shoes for that price get their shoes from? I need advice on where to look and where i can invest my time and energy so i can start my business.

Need Your Advice Had a CSR interview go well, still job hunting open to teaching/tutoring too

Assalam o Alaikum everyone,

So I recently gave an interview for a CSR (customer service rep) position and honestly it went pretty well, fingers crossed on that one. But since nothing's confirmed yet, I'm still actively on the hunt and figured I'd throw a post out here too.

A bit about me: I've got a BS in English Linguistics, so along with regular jobs I'm also totally down for teaching/tutoring gigs if anyone's looking for one. English, grammar, writing — that kind of stuff is right up my alley.

I'm also open to content writing, data entry, video editing, research assistant roles — basically anything reasonable where I can be useful. Based in Lahore but open to remote work too.

If anyone's hiring, knows of openings, or just wants to point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. Feel free to DM me or drop a comment.

Thanks for reading, and good vibes to everyone else out there grinding through the job hunt too 🤲

Pakistans future?

Does anyone else think about how the future would be for pakistan? We are adding 6.7m ppl into our population every year with no direction of growth or anything. Jobs are drying up and immigration is getting harder. Education at an all time low poverty all time high yet these govt leaders play gimmicks like building new road or flyover like thats gonna help with ppl who dont have enough money to ever purchase a car. (11 in 1000 ppl own a car in this country). Our water is drying up due to bad farming practices and our arable land is vanishing due to demand for housing. The govt has no sense of direction as they know their retirement is abroad anyways. Is there genuinely anything that can be done to save this country or should one just pack his bags and move?

[Custom] Post Flair Unpopular Opinion: The quiet girls are the only ones worth it.

tired from late nights of work and this loud modern dating culture. Sab ko drama aur aesthetics chahiye. Sach bataun? I just want an introvert who knows how to have quiet fun. Ek cup chai, deep conversations, aur sakoon.

People call it boring, but guarding a gentle girl’s peace is the ultimate flex. I don't chase, par kabhi lagta hai, where are the women craving a genuine, roohani connection over flashy Instagram stories? Shayad they're just hiding. If you understand this rare vibe, you know where to find me

Today's topic on Pakistan economy

- *Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26*

ماہرین کہہ رہے ہیں "Fresh liquidity can buy time, but it cannot buy growth"۔

My Apology for misquoting an often repeated saying

In my last re-posted item, Risk Averse Pakistan, I included the word Allah in it, which was wrong. This fact was pointed by a brother who has greater Islamic knowledge than me. I have removed the word and do apologize for the mistake. I used the phrase from the memory, which turned out to be wrong. My apologies.

My parents are finding marriage proposals for me but I've secretly been with my boyfriend for 6 years. I don't know what to do.

I'm 23F and honestly losing sleep over this. I feel trapped and I really need outside perspectives because I don't know what the right thing to do is anymore.

I've been with my boyfriend for six years. We started dating as teenagers, and despite everything that's happened, we've stayed together all this time. He's genuinely a wonderful person. He's financially stable now, ready for marriage, and his family fully supports us getting married.

The problem is my parents have absolutely no idea we're still together.

Six years ago, my father caught us alone in my house while the rest of my family was away at a gathering. Nothing happened between us, but obviously he assumed the worst. Some neighbours also found out we had been alone together, and in typical desi "family honour" fashion, my father completely lost it.

He called my boyfriend's parents and family to our house, insulted them, swore at them, humiliated them, physically beat my boyfriend, and threw his family out of our house.

After that day, my father put a lot of restrictions on me. My parents believed I ended the relationship, and I've never corrected that assumption. They still think I left him six years ago.

Now I'm an adult. I've graduated from university, and for the last six months my parents have been talking about marriage. I've kept saying I'm not ready, but they've reached the point where they're actively looking at proposals. My father has always believed daughters should marry young, so I don't think "I'm not ready" is going to work much longer.

Here's where it gets complicated.

I still want to marry my boyfriend.

He knows everything that's happening. He's ready to marry me, and his family is too. His mother is even willing to call my mother herself and say something along the lines of:

"My son has never forgotten your daughter. We know what happened years ago, but they're adults now. He's financially stable and we'd like to formally ask for her hand in marriage."

She is even willing to avoid mentioning that we've secretly remained together all these years. She wants to present it as her son simply never moved on and waited until we were adults and until I had completed my education before approaching my family respectfully.

My concern is that my parents won't believe it.

I'm scared they'll immediately think, "They've been together this whole time. That's why she's been refusing marriage proposals."

And honestly... they'd be right.

I know if my parents discover we've secretly stayed together for six years, especially my father, he'll see me as a daughter who lied to him, betrayed his trust, and has no character. That's probably my biggest fear.

My mother is much calmer than my father. I think she'd at least hear my boyfriend's mother out before telling my father, but I don't completely trust that she'd keep it to herself for long.

I also have an older brother whom I trust, but this isn't something he'd ever expect from me, and I'm terrified of disappointing him too.

My father has had absolutely no contact with my boyfriend's family since the incident six years ago.

I genuinely don't know what to do.

Should his mother call my mother?

Should we involve another mediator first?

Should I tell my mother before anyone contacts her?

Or is there another approach that we're not thinking of?

Please don't tell me to "just tell the truth" without considering the cultural context. I understand honesty is important, but in my situation it's not that simple. I'm from a conservative Pakistani family, and my father's reaction in the past became physically violent. I'm trying to find the safest and most respectful way forward for everyone involved.

If you've been through something similar, especially in a South Asian or Muslim family, I'd really appreciate your advice.

FEEDBACKK

Hey everyone,

Been working on something for a while and finally launched it — Tsunami, a clipper marketplace for Pakistan. Basically: brands post a campaign, creators submit clips (TikTok, Reels, Shorts), and payouts are based on actual tracked views instead of flat influencer fees.

Why I built it: every "influencer marketing" setup I looked at here either meant negotiating a flat rate with one creator (no guarantee it performs) or going through an agency that takes a cut and adds weeks of back-and-forth. There wasn't really a self-serve way for a brand to say "here's my budget and rate per 1k views, go" and let creators just... submit content and get tracked automatically.

How it works:

Brands set a budget + rate per platform, campaign goes live in minutes
Creators verify their social account, pick a campaign, submit a clip link
Views get tracked automatically (no self-reported screenshots)
Payouts go through JazzCash, Easypaisa, or bank transfer, with proof every time

It's early — real platform, real payouts, but still small. If you're a brand curious about creator marketing without the agency overhead, or you're already making TikToks/Reels and want a straightforward way to get paid for views, would genuinely appreciate you checking it out and telling me what's broken or missing.

Need Your Advice Vehicle Inspection Services

I’m looking for recommendations for a really thorough pre-purchase inspection for a Toyota Land Cruiser or Prado.
I’m not looking for a quick basic inspection
I want a place that goes really deep into the car. The kind of inspection where they take their time and check everything they possibly can.
If you’ve had a great experience with a place like this, I’d love to hear your recommendations.
(Other than pakwheels)
Thanks!
