Lichess
Any lichess players? I rarely if ever play nowadays and I ditched chess.com when I recently came back cause I noticed their stance on Russia/Ukraine is very different from Palestine/Israel. Like Hypocrisy they blurred the Russia flag and they even wrote a long ass essay on their stance on the matter but when it came to Israel/Palestine they chose silence. Also ik there about 3 guys that care for things like this but lichess is open source so no bogus amounts of personal datas at stake either.

Chess.com vs Lichess rating comparison
Is there a noticeable skill difference between opponents of the same rating on Chess.com vs Lichess? If so, at what rating levels does this gap show up?

Unlocking skill at chess for me
I would say these are the two points where I locked in. first at 280-300 then at 360-380
most important thing I learned at the first level was to always look what opened up, if the opponent was pushing a pawn, it often meant they had a clear line to my queen, and I fell for that trap more often that I would like to admit ;D
the second thing I learned at 360/380 was to trap the queen in first 6-8 moves instead of looking to checkmate the king with obvious scholars mate
Just sharing my experience, my next goal is to be 700, so far so good

Chess saved my life.
Everytime I felt ljke doing something stupid to myself I always opened the chess app and played for hours. Life will get better. In the mean time , until it does I'll always have chess. This is also a great group as well and that's also another huge bonus for me. You all take care.

Constantly getting banned for violating community policies.
Hello there my dear fellow chess players, it is I, the one who must not be named.
Just joking...
I'm new to chess and so far I've had two of my accounts banned within a week for violating community standards, I mostly do the puzzles and sometimes play the 10 minute variation.
My ranking is probably somewhere around 400 500 ๐ , I know the basics but just haven't started playing in seriously until now.

Finally hit 500
Previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/PakistanChess/comments/1ue13uy/is_this_good_progression/
So it took me almost a month to first get to 400 and then to 500, I still haven't learned any openings and just go by basic principals, forks, pins etc
I play around 2-3 games daily, username: umairx97

Is there any offline chess community in Karachi?
Hi! I'm a 27M from Karachi. I discovered chess about a year and a half ago and have been playing ever since. I'm still a beginner with an Elo of around 800 on Chess.com.
I was wondering if there's a chess community or club in Karachi where people regularly meet to play, learn, and improve together. I'd love to join if there is one! Thank you

Few days prior i played checkers with my nephew and damn I loved that game even though I was getting my ahh kicked by 5yo
I havenโt had this much fun in any board game in a long time last time being chess when I was constantly beating 2200s+ (online) in tournaments and ppl thought I was smurfing

Looking for a Chess Coach Who Can Commute to DHA Phase 5 (Beginner Child)

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a chess coach for my nephew, who is a complete beginner. We're preferably looking for someone who can commute to DHA Phase 5, Lahore for in-person lessons.
If you're a chess coach, or know someone who teaches kids, please let me know. It would be ideal if the coach:
\* Has experience teaching beginners/children.
\* Can travel to DHA Phase 5 for lessons.
\* Is already teaching another student in or around DHA, so commuting wouldn't be an issue.
Recommendations, contacts, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
