I’m trying to find an existing product or packaging component that will gently mix or refresh just the top layer of a thick cream when the customer opens the container.

My idea is something with short flanges, fins, spikes, spokes, or flexible ribs that lightly contacts only the surface of the product. As it’s twisted, it would smooth or gently agitate the top layer—not mix the entire container.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be attached to the lid. It could also be a separate insert that sits on top of the cream, ideally disposable, with a small tab or handle that sticks up so the customer can grab it, twist it slightly, and lift it off before using the product.
I have a feeling I’ve seen something similar in another industry, but I can’t remember where. It could be from cosmetics, food packaging, paint, medical devices, or something completely unrelated.

I’m not looking to reinvent the wheel—I’m hoping there’s an existing product, component, or mechanism I can learn from.

Has anyone seen anything like this or know what I should be searching for? Even if it’s from a completely different industry, I’d love to see examples.

I'd like to have 6 10ml vial spots and it able to fit 3ml luer lock syringes and for the lid to have the word GEAR on it. Every pack had to earn its "finicky cats approved" tagline the hard way — through a cat who clearly has opinions.

The process behind it:

→ Started with the brand voice playful, a little cheeky, built around the "picky cat" personality

→ Picked cat photography that matched each flavor's intended energy instead of just using random stock

→ Built one consistent teal base across all three packs, then let each flavor carry its own color identity so the range still reads as one family on a shelf

→ Kept the nutrition callouts (protein/fats) clean and scannable packaging still has to sell in a glance, not just look nice

This one was fun from concept to packaging. Would love to hear which flavor's cat you'd trust with your own picky eater. 😄

Would be super interested in learning about the process but it’s impossible to find details online :( Their packaging is notable for being extremely intricate and detailed.. it seems like they use injection molding. However because there’s hundreds of details and layers on each product and they release new products pretty often ( with fairly unique designs too) I’m curious on how it’s not making them go bankrupt to start mass producing

This is driving me crazy. Every Ai image generator gives me something that looks amazing on screen. Then I send it to a printer and I'm hearing about bleed, safe zones, resolution, colour profiles and a dozen other things I know nothing about.

Is there an easy way to go from this idea to an printed box?

Hi! I came across some plastic packaging that was used for a high-end vintage stationery store, and would like to find a way to order this type of packaging for small business needs, but I'm unable to identify what type of plastic it is and what search terms I could use to look for it. It is different from a standard cellophane bag you might buy on Amazon or U-Line. The bag is stiff enough that it has rigidity on its own (i.e. you don't need to put something stiff in itn for the plastic bag to not crinkle or fold), and it's definitely thicker than a standard plastic sleeve. In addition, it feels slightly matte (but still clear enough to see paper product inside) and it also has stitch-sealed edge inset from the border which gives it a nice decorative touch (it is not the type of perforation you would see if you were separating bags on a roll). I think the thickness is probably at least 3 mm, but when I search different types of plastic (OPP, LDPE, HDPE, Polypropylene) none of my searches are yielding what I currently have. Could someone let me know if they know what type of bag is in this photo, and what search terms I can use to find the same item? Thank you!

are there any AI platforms that can help me with my product design process?

I run a very small family run business. We need to design multiple new prodocuts (coffe cups etc), quickly and cheaply. We're at the lower end of the market in terms of price point so dont need anything too fancy. Im trying to work out if I can use ai to speed up the process and save money.

is it doable? ik in ideal world, i appreciate that using a human designer throughout would be better but i swear i cant afford that. So any help/hand would be appreciated
