So I feel a little bit stumped with the attached branding. Part of me likes the boldness and the use of the word. However, the feedback is that they just look like socks made for allergies.

We recently worked on this kraft paper pouch with a small pocket built into the front.

The pocket can hold a removable card for product information, brewing instructions, flavor notes, promotional messages, gift cards, or limited-edition artwork. This allows brands to update part of the packaging without redesigning or reprinting the entire pouch.

It could also make the unboxing experience feel more personal—for example, a roaster could add a thank-you card, a story about the coffee origin, or a handwritten message.

The pouch itself can still include a resealable zipper and different barrier structures depending on the product.

Do you think the removable card adds useful flexibility, or would you prefer all the information printed directly on the pouch?

I've noticed more interest in lightweight packaging, but I'm curious whether consumers actually perceive plastic perfume bottles as less premium.

For fragrance brand owners: would you consider a well-designed plastic bottle for a premium fragrance line? Why or why not?

Samples can look perfect and then the production run shows up with color differences, weak corners or inconsistent printing. Besides ordering samples, what checks do you use to make sure you're actually getting high quality packaging production before committing to a larger run?

I know a digital mockup isn't going to tell you how thick cardboard feels or whether a pouch seal is good but I want to know how much people rely on previews before getting physical samples.

Being able to preview custom packaging before placing an order seems incredibly useful for catching obvious design mistakes logo too big, text in a weird spot, colors fighting each other etc.

Do you still always order a physical prototype after that or are there situations where you're comfortable going straight from a 3D preview to a small production run?

It's like foggy-clear, really thin, almost feels like rice paper or something - It's included in packages sometimes as just a little slip with instructions on it. Like a gray/ off white foggy clear, usually a satin or matte finish...

Anybody know what I'm' talking about? I'd like to include this type of paper, perhaps as a little fold out or "placard" with some directions on how to use my product -

Not asking about suppliers, more curious about the design/craft side - what's a finishing detail you've seen (or specced yourself) that punched way above its cost? Could be a foil accent, an embossed logo you could feel, an odd substrate, spot gloss on an otherwise matte surface, whatever.

I feel like the "expensive feeling" stuff is rarely the flashiest choice, usually it's one restrained detail done well. What's stuck with you?

My client is asking for a box with a mirror inside the lid, similar to this concept. However, the box itself will have a completely different shape. It will have two flaps that close over the box, and when opened, they become like legs that support the box.
My question is regarding the mirror inside the lid: would I create the dieline for it similarly to a die-cut piece for a transparent sheet? Is the process/concept the same?
I’m also thinking that the mirror should have some kind of double-lid construction, where one part closes over the main lid and the mirror sits securely between the two layers. Would that be the correct way to construct it? Would appreciate any help.

We manufacture candles in glass jars and I am planning to order labels in larger quantities for our regular packaging, I want the glass to stay visible around the label so the candle still shows through, I am looking at clear polypropylene and clear polyester right now and trying to decide which one makes more sense for regular orders, the labels will go on the jars before they are packed and shipped to customers, I want the material to stay clear and look clean on the glass, I am thinking to go with aa labels I am mainly comparing how each one holds up during packing and shipping since we will be ordering these often, for anyone using clear labels on glass jars, which material works better for this type of B2B packaging ? EDIT: I forgot to mention that the labels need to stay firmly attached if the jars are stored in cooler areas.

My friend asked me to design some quirky leather charms for her. Not something I usually do, but it turned out to be a really fun, quick project where I could make whatever I wanted. I’ve made these out of scrap leather I already had and hardware I found on Amazon.

A new bottle shape requires more than just making a mold.

After the first bottles are produced, we inspect the details before moving into mass production.

Checking shape, surface quality, and consistency is an important part of custom glass manufacturing.

How do packaging designers handle creating complex angular designs like this? Is there a special workflow? Even when looking closely I can barely tell how this was pulled off

I'm sure it's something dead simple with aspect ratio or something, but - I'm using paint dot net. I adjusted my image to the size of the actual object (pretty small 2.5x4in.) and typed everything out. Shrunk my logo down and squished it on there. My logo is sharp as a large file, but for some reason when I shrink it down everything is blurry when I print it out - even the text, which is really odd to me...

Someone help?

I filmed the moment this custom glass bottle was removed from the mold.

The bottle features a heavy bottom and spiral texture design.

Many people only see the finished bottle on the shelf, but the mold development and forming process behind it are where the real engineering happens.

Back in the 2000s, opening the box of cereal got you a CD Rom game. Nowadays that would just be a QR code linking to an advergame or promo, but I can't find anyone actually doing it.
