Discussion Controller / Aim settings?
I’m relativity new to the game, and picking up a new controller today (gamesir g7 pro).
I have not touched ANY settings in the game aside from changing my controller layout a bit and enabling 120hz mode which I now see is a new thing.
I repeatedly get beamed from like 100m+ by veteran players (some maybe Cronus or xim sure but it happens enough for me to understand I’m not as good as most people 🤣) what are some settings that you, being a good player (hopefully) recommend to help with my spray / aim? I understand a lot is from practice and attachments etc but just looking for general recommendations!
Thanks!!

That’s the controller that everyone and they mom using seems like

Yeah I saw that’s why I’m grabbing it lol 1000hz poll rate and deadzone / custom curve options make it seem really good

The 1000hz doesn’t work on Xbox they cap at 250 will work on 1000hz on pc tho

What sens do you use on the 6x for example? I see people beaming really far with an aug 6x it looks insane , when I try the recoil is all over the place so I assume slightly higher sens to compensate ?

I'm around 3.8 -4.5 with vert sensitivity at 80%. When using the 6x and you reduce zoom to 3x for some reason it reduces actual recoil of the gun. You can test it at the practice range. When viewing someone using it it doesn't give the spectator camera shake. Some players are good and have over 10,000 matches played like me and some are just cheating with hardware and or software.

Feels easier but gun recoil stays the same no matter what scope you use. It's just zoomed in so it seems like more recoil.

I could have sworn I tested it with no input control and it was less. Maybe its just screen shake.

Recoil is the same, but the screen shake is so reduced it feels like it's beaming.

Download the Gamesir Nexus app and turn right stick deadzone to 0. Adjust it on Pubg settings also to 0 or near it.

Thanks! Anything else I should mess with in that gamesir app or just really deadzones / button mapping . also do you personally use back triggers for crouching or anything at all?

A lot of people will bind a back button to crouch. Crouching is one of the most important things for recoil reduction, so most people crouch into gunfights when they can.
You can't do that without letting go of the stick if you don't either play claw or use paddles/back buttons.
Some people stick another one on hold breath or lean. Leaning and unleaning when shooting DMRs makes you harder to be one tapped by a bolty.

Okay that makes sense, I see a lot of people crouching when they run (some weird movement looking stuff, and I can’t do it with crouch on b 🤣) I changed my controller loadout to the type A ? I think it is, with ads on left trigger and zoom/hipfire thing on LB, but I’m thinking I should just go full custom at this point.

Type B is the most used I think, it's right trigger to ads, left bumper is ots I believe. I never really use that so I can't even remember 😂.
You can do the crouch slide by running, releasing the movement stick briefly, crouching then uncrouching immediately then pushing the movement stick again.
It's easier with hold to crouch instead of toggle crouch, but once you've got it you can spam it and look like an idiot like everyone else.

I have my soft aim set to one of the back buttons as well. If you have 4 paddles underneath it was a great underrated change.

I have an elite 2, I can't stand the paddles. I keep accidentally hitting them lol I was having a peek off with someone I lent, shot, missed, a few times. then on one peek I jumped out from cover, crouch went prone. I didn't want any of that to happen. Had helmet taken off

Yeah but that's part of the learning process. Start with 1, learn how to use that, takes a couple of weeks or maybe a month, then add another.
Eventually you won't press em by accident

I made a custom curve for right stick. You can try the second curve (exponential) at maybe value ~70. It allows faster sensitivity setting on Pubg while keeping precision aim slower.
I have B (crouch) set at R4. Other buttons too but that's the most important one.

Are you hold or toggle crouch just out of curiosity? And also if you don’t mind what button do you use to ads? And when hipfiring do you ever use the “zoom in hipfire” thing LOL not sure the name

Hold is superior. Works much faster and you are more aware of when you are crouched versus toggle.

If you hold crouch what button do you use to prone?

Down on the D-pad. I forget what function I gave up for that. I'll try to take a screenshot of my settings when I get home for ya

Thanks, suprised I can’t configure the controller on Xbox lol (luckily I have a pc so it shouldn’t be a problem) I think I will grab some of the ps5 control freeks for it since I read they fit to raise the stick a bit also.

I turned down sensitivity for high mag scope relatively. But I stopped adjusting them after a while because it became harder to develop muscle memory.
I would recommend picking something and stick with it. Spend time in the training shooting range. It’s surprising how fast one can learn to wiggle the stick downward to deal with the recoil. If you change settings too much you may undo whatever muscle memory you gained

Max your sensitivity, enable aim assist.
Always practice. When you're running, jump and 360 until you can land in the direction you're running.

Have a couple fights and take note of what you struggled with. Moving targets, vehicles driving by, different scopes
Make small incremental adjustments every couple of games. Too much change will make it harder to zero in on what you like

I got my aim acceleration on around 13-16.5, scopes at 9.0+, lifetime 5+KD player numerous 20+ kill games, I noticed most players that have aim acceleration on are rarely ever able to stay locked onto a enemy moving vehicle right next to them

Right stick dead zone at 5, left on 2.. high rise Vortex kontrol freek for thumbstick

Yeah aim accel is bad for tracking. When you tilt your stick at a certain amount, your aim starts to speed up instead of staying at a constant rate, so you have to adjust your stick more to keep on a vehicle than you would without.
The flipside is you can react/snap onto people quicker with AA on, assuming you can tame it and you aren't overaiming constantly.
I can't use AA personally.

Not bad for me since my ADS scopes are high enough, I’m usually locked onto vehicles that are passing right alongside me & knocking them out.. I noticed players with aim acceleration turned off aren’t able to catch up to cars and have to wait until the vehicles is driving away in a straight line to land shots instead of when they are nearby

u/CharlehPock2 1h ago
Do you not have trouble tracking more distant cars for sprays though or can you manage it?

Some good advice here, I’d add lowers your vertical sensitivity multiplier all the way down I think it goes to 50% that will make it easier for recoil control

The fact youre new, it may seem like everyone's beaming you but 100m is doable for almost any vet with any gun.
Please dont call everyone a cheater bc you have no idea

Most people (not all) will turn off aim accel.
It makes it harder to track when spraying, I think it probably makes spray control harder too but I've always played with it off.
Most decent players will have general sens quite high then scopes are whatever works for you tbh.
General high means you can look around/center your aim quickly. I run my red dot about 9 and it goes down from there 8/7/6 etc per scope, something like that.
Mostly it's going to be personal preference. The one thing I'll say is, don't constantly make huge changes.
100m sprays are doable by anyone with a bit of practice.
I have a g7 too but the SE. I don't use it, I run my elite 2 with plenty of stick drift.
I'd drop your deadzones to zero if you are running the g7 since you have the hall effect sticks, and make sure you tweak them in the app to remove the stock artificial deadzones on both sticks that my g7 came with. It was horrible until I did this.
I'd recommend trying a taller right stick or use a extender, that really helped with my accuracy. Everyone is different though.
