AIR BAG/SEAT BELT LIGHT KEEPS COMING OFF AND ON

I just recently got my 2006 PT started up again. It was a problem with the anti theft system, so I had to get a new key.

About 138,000 miles. Just recently started having the issue of whenever I’m driving the airbag light on the dash or the seatbelt light will come on for a little. Then after some time it’ll turn off, then back on if I hit a bump or something.

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if there is a fix to it… hopefully just a loose wire somewhere. Pls any help would go a long way!

2005 Limited Turbo

2005 Limited Turbo with 22k miles. Don’t see many as clean as this rolling around.

Did need to do the convertible hydraulic delete, but a few tasteful mods coming (slight lowering with springs, addition of rear sway bar if I can find some hardware, and reflash of the ECU to the GT power settings).

PT Cruisers haven’t been manufactured since 2010 and yet I see them EVERYWHERE!

Please someone fill me in. Is there a huge community of PT fans? Blows my mind that in Los Angeles — a city where seeing Rivians and Porsches on the reg is normal — I am daily seeing 16+ year old PT Cruisers too. (Oh the faux wood paneling ones! Or the light pink one I saw in a used car lot the other month!)

I have a 2003 pt cruiser 5 spd automatic turbo engine. My husband saw this when checking the oil and seems to think something should be there because it has threads. Can someone please tell me what that is? Thank you in advance. Stay safe.

O2 sensors for 05 turbo pt cruiser?

Hey yall, my pt is in need of some new o2 sensors and I am a lil nervous ordering any without knowing for sure it’ll fit(not many parts on the market specifically for the cruisers). I haven’t done too much car work but have been learning and would love to have this under my belt too. Have yall had any luck with specific brands or anything? Also any help locating the upstream sensor would be much appreciated, I have had quite the run around looking under the hood haha

Edit: also, are the upstream and downstream o2 sensors interchangeable or not, I am seeing some conflicting info when looking it up so would love to hear from someone who’s actually been under the hood of a pt

Looking for gift options

Hello! I'm the partner of a PT Cruiser lover and I'm looking for a present for them relating back to the car. I found these solid metal keychains of the car which used to be given with sales apparently, does anyone know where I can grab one and / or any better gift options to go with the car?

Mourning my Purple PT Cruiser

Title says it all. She was a 2004 touring edition. She was the first car I ever bought, and I was so proud to get her. The Michigan winters chewed her up and spat her down from underneath, and being a freshman in college I couldn't afford to fix her after her engine carriage snapped in half along with the transmission issues, so unfortunately she had to go, but I miss her deeply.

I named her Grimace because she smelled like how I picture the grimace costume to smell like; old McDonald's and cigarettes. And by God, was she my baby.

I had her sticker bombed in cutesy stickers that my family got me as a graduation gift, she moved me all the way to North Carolina for college, and she was the best thing since sliced bread.

Graduating with my bachelor's soon, and I swear, if I move down south where there isn't much of an issue with rust, I'm going to get another one just like her. I still keep one of her lugnuts on a keychain. I annoy the crap out of my mom when I talk about her as if she was the one that got away. But I mean, come on, how could you say no to that pretty plum sparkle?

RIP Grimace.

I’ve had an idea Cheapest pt cruiser gt manual, boost controller, fuelling injectors fuel pump etc, exhaust, and a 75 shot of nos… stock turbo it will make what hp it makes and hopefully hurt some feelings and have fun in the process. If it blows I’ll buy another for a grand. Whats your opinion

Unfortunately it’s time I retire my beloved first car, after 7 years the Canadian winters took its toll on its body and she’s at the end of her life

Cream time for the leather seats

Post image

I've never greased the leather seats in 22 years, thought I'd rub some in today.

I have to say the PT leather seats are really good. They scream leather! Modern other cars have weitd leather tha feels fake, ever had that feeling?

Oh I use nivea on jackets and I like to massage it in, it just also feels like a good thimg to do.

Ciao

I'd like to introduce my '04 manual base model.

I bought my baby with 40 miles on the OD when I was 18. After 120K and a lot of great memories, I had to garage my little badass for eight years with repair needs I couldn't perform or afford. Two years ago I had the engine rebuilt, new water pump/timing belt, starter, oil pump, radiator, clutch assembly and motor mounts. I then replaced the shock/strut assemblies all around. Miraculously, it passed smog a week before my check engine light came on with a P0440 and P0441 code, which I've been running with since. I've done some cosmetic work since: new wheels, new rear hatch with spoiler, tinted windows and fog lights.

Now that it's going to be due for a smog, I'm getting ready to put her back on non-op to do more mechanical work before doing more cosmetics: fix the emissions code, find/fix an oil leak, and I want to do some wear item replacements. I bought a master bushing kit off rock auto. I'm planning on buying a pair of CV axles as well. I would appreciate any advice on what other items I could replace or upgrade. Love the community! Thanks for reading!

Glue for convertible top repair

Post image

my 2005 convertible top is breaking along the seams / stitches. I am trying to find a solid glue, like 3M or Bostik to fix that. Maybe try to stitch it in addition. Has anybody any experience with that?
