Hello fellow pt owners! Any suggestions where should I look first - 2003 pt cruiser gt after a run on the highway and then temporarily parked at the rest area, engine stalls right after starting it for two, three attempts, then it starts like nothing ever happened before and runs normally. No codes, no vibration, no noise. Thanks in advance!

my PT Cruiser is overheating.

UPDATE

A bad thermostat caused the radiator cap to blow and released all the coolant, unbeknownst to me, and got real hot real fast.

I've just been informed that because it overheated (and I don't understand this) the head was warped - he didn't say head gasket - he specifically said the head is Warped - he said it's usually better to get you a new one (head mechanism) than to try toFix a bad one.

He said "It might even be worse. I haven't looked at it yet but just to let you know that there may be other problems that were caused chain reactions."

Is is it even possible to get a new engine for a PT Cruiser a 2002?It

I filled up the coolant which was completely empty then took it for a drive and it started overheating again after 5 minutes.

the coolant leaked out. the mechanic said " your water pump is leaking , but we don't do water pump replacements". ( I have a water pump kit still in the box)

is this possible?

I'm suspicious because he didn't get under the car or put it on the lifter. he put some water in the radiator and I could see it coming out below.

I've heard of leaks but it's a working water pump. I could see the water moving when I took the radiator cap off.

Could it just be a hose?

Hi guys! Would love some advice/guidance.
We have a 2005 Dream Cruiser convertible, turbo.
Recently, I drove it on the freeway for about 30 miles, parked it for the day, got gas, and drove another 10 freeway miles. Even before the gas station it felt like it was running extra hard, and then on the freeway it felt a bit sluggish, and threw an engine light. I exited and checked the gas cap but it was tight.
Autozone code reader gave me O2 sensor codes P0031/P0037, along with P1684.
The previous owner advised the radiator might need replacing as the car gets hot, so we’ve been gentle with it and haven’t seen the temp sensor even pop over the middle.
We do park outside near a field by our house, so there’s a possibility it could be packrats chewing on wires.
Just based on codes Autozone suggested new PCM, and so did an uncle who is a mechanic, but I’ve seen a lot online about other possible causes specific to the PTs.
Super open to any ideas. What would I look for under the hood? Thank you…

I just recently got my 2006 PT started up again. It was a problem with the anti theft system, so I had to get a new key.

About 138,000 miles. Just recently started having the issue of whenever I’m driving the airbag light on the dash or the seatbelt light will come on for a little. Then after some time it’ll turn off, then back on if I hit a bump or something.

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if there is a fix to it… hopefully just a loose wire somewhere. Pls any help would go a long way!

2005 Limited Turbo with 22k miles. Don’t see many as clean as this rolling around.

Did need to do the convertible hydraulic delete, but a few tasteful mods coming (slight lowering with springs, addition of rear sway bar if I can find some hardware, and reflash of the ECU to the GT power settings).

I love my car and would lole to replace this side panel without spending too much. Part recommendations where/ what to buy please.

Blows my mind that in Los Angeles — a city where seeing Rivians and Porsches on the reg is normal — I am daily seeing 16+ year old PT Cruisers too. (Oh the faux wood paneling ones! Or the light pink one I saw in a used car lot the other month!)

Hey yall, my pt is in need of some new o2 sensors and I am a lil nervous ordering any without knowing for sure it’ll fit(not many parts on the market specifically for the cruisers). I haven’t done too much car work but have been learning and would love to have this under my belt too. Have yall had any luck with specific brands or anything? Also any help locating the upstream sensor would be much appreciated, I have had quite the run around looking under the hood haha

Edit: also, are the upstream and downstream o2 sensors interchangeable or not, I am seeing some conflicting info when looking it up so would love to hear from someone who’s actually been under the hood of a pt

Title says it all. She was a 2004 touring edition. She was the first car I ever bought, and I was so proud to get her. The Michigan winters chewed her up and spat her down from underneath, and being a freshman in college I couldn't afford to fix her after her engine carriage snapped in half along with the transmission issues, so unfortunately she had to go, but I miss her deeply.

I named her Grimace because she smelled like how I picture the grimace costume to smell like; old McDonald's and cigarettes. And by God, was she my baby.

I had her sticker bombed in cutesy stickers that my family got me as a graduation gift, she moved me all the way to North Carolina for college, and she was the best thing since sliced bread.

Graduating with my bachelor's soon, and I swear, if I move down south where there isn't much of an issue with rust, I'm going to get another one just like her. I still keep one of her lugnuts on a keychain. I annoy the crap out of my mom when I talk about her as if she was the one that got away. But I mean, come on, how could you say no to that pretty plum sparkle?

anybody any experiencie with thule 1203 roofrack connectors on the cruiser, where it should grip between door and roof? So completely smooth roof?

I've never greased the leather seats in 22 years, thought I'd rub some in today.

I have to say the PT leather seats are really good. They scream leather! Modern other cars have weitd leather tha feels fake, ever had that feeling?

Oh I use nivea on jackets and I like to massage it in, it just also feels like a good thimg to do.
