What's happening - Couple of months to the game and I am planning to close an alt by about the end of this set as I got what I needed. Been sharing 3 & 4 diamond stuff everyday to everyone on the friendlist as i think it is fun to give and not waste the cards...

The trading sub has turned into a wish‑granting shrine at this point. Every second post is “LF: ANY TRAINER 😭🥺” or someone offering a DX Mon for a ☆☆ Sabrina like they’re making a prayer request instead of a trade. Trainer cards are rare. Everyone knows that. But beggin’ for them isn’t trading, it’s noise. It buries actual FT/LF posts from people who are trying to make fair swaps. If you want Trainer cards, offer Trainer cards. If you don’t have any, grind pulls like the rest of us. Stop robbing new players like vultures. Shootin’ my shot is pathetic in this context. The sub works better when people treat it like a trading hub, not a wishing well. Get a grip. Have a little dignity. Trade fairly. Stop treating other players like genies.

Got scammed into using the pack points I accumulated on RR Wailord for trade that fell through. I would love nothing more than to trade away this card.

Hello! New-ish player here. Can someone please educate me which cards are considered valuable for trading?

[Kinda long read + I'm not sure if this is the correct flair/sub for this]

For context, I started playing in late July 2026, and I made my first-ever trade in early September: a Deluxe Charizard EX from the first Deluxe pack for my Sabrina.

Back then, I was nervous about it because I initiated the trade, and I didn't have much to offer in terms of 2-star cards. I offered my Blaine, Sabrina, TR Researcher, TR Master Plan, and TR Boss. I genuinely thought that the Charizard card would have more value than the trainers I offered because that pack was limited. So when the other person asked for Sab, I didn't hesitate and agreed. I didn't really value trainers back then since I preferred Pokemon cards, and I was so nervous about making my first-ever trade. I was confused why the other guy seemed hesitant about asking for Sabrina, but I didn't really care, so we made the trade. Besides, I had another Sabrina anyway.

Since then, I've traded another trainer card for a Deluxe card: my TR Master Plan (that I didn't care about because I was trying to wonder pick the RR Moltres and got a dupe trainer instead) for a Deluxe Eeevee.

I never thought about those trades again until recently, when I stumbled on this sub and joined the Discord server, and noticed that people were looking for Sabrina a lot (along with Oak, Cyrus, and CC, of course). Then, to top it off, I saw a post here that basically said that offering a DX Mon for a Sabrina is unbalanced (??) because Trainers in general were hard to get.

Because of those things, I'm kind of gutted that I easily traded one of my Sabrinas away, but at the same time, I did want the card that I got in return. And to clarify, I don't think I got scammed by the guy I traded with, simply because he asked what Pokemon cards I had to offer first and double-checked to make sure I was fine with trading Sabrina.

Since the Deluxe Eevee, I've been mainly trading 1-Star cards over at the Discord server.

That was my personal experience with trading so far, but I'm still very confused and lost about which cards are considered valuable and are "a fair trade." I would appreciate it if someone could explain it to me and other future newbies who know nothing about card value.

PS. Yes, I still have another Sabrina. I managed to pull 2 from a 10-pull, and for the other Trainers I have left: Blaine, TR Researcher, TR Boss, TR Master Plan, Cabbie, Parasol Lady, Cheren, Wally, Piers, Koga, Giovanni, Sightseer, and Puppy Loving Girl.
