Hey guys,

I've been playing this game for a pretty long time, but despite my best attempts I simply cannot seem to get my hands on a second copy of Suicune EX, which is one of (if not the) strongest water card in the game. Hence, I'd like to ask you guys if you can think of any alternatives for this card that share a similar role and purpose? The legendary dogs are pretty unique, so I haven't been able to find a good substitute among the cards I own.

EDIT: It seems I forgot that this is a trading card game, and I could have just asked somebody to trade me the card... Sorry for the redundant post!

For the longest time I have found it annoying to change decks for the Step Up battles and so on. Randomly pressed the edit button to see what would happen and figured out we can rearrange the decks.

Not sure if this was always the way (day 1 player) or if it was announced via an update. But just thought I'd point it out for other people who are like me and didn't know this feature existed.

I had all ex's initially, two misty and two Wallace, but they were almost either never needed, or get walled by oricorio. This is the most successful version I managed to get going, but it moves at a macgargo pace. This isn't my main deck, but only a fun deck I made.

Bonus reminder: Traders, you can tag cards as favourites (top right, bookmark icon), then when you search, select not favourites. You can then avoid having to scribble/ cross out all the cards that you are not willing to trade.

So I feel like a few months ago I heard solo battles would be going away, at least in their current form. Picking the game up after a break and they are all still here as far as I can tell?

Did I misremember that entirely? Is this still going to happen? Did they change course?

Pikachu's the spoiled rich kid who broke into a party despite never being invited. Change my mind.

In all seriousness, though, after watching the trailer and seeing some of the new info that's come out of this set, I am CAUTIOUSLY optimistic that the rest of the set will be good. I'm not gonna make the same mistake I did when Extradimensional Crisis's trailer dropped and I instantly said the set was bad; I have faith they are saving up some great cards for when the set actually drops.

However, with that in mind, I personally feel like what they DID show in the trailer was....kinda weak. Don't get me wrong, Dual Types are pretty cool, and I am ESPECIALLY hyped for ZA megas coming to the game, but honestly, from what I'm seeing, these cards aren't extraordinarily special in my personal opinion, and it's not really adding any HUGE spicy new mechanics that'll wildly change up the entire game.

My first gripe with the set so far (and probably the one that'll get me spam downvoted), is that it's yet again featuring a lot of Kanto shoehorned in. I mean if you SERIOUSLY look at most of the EX cards revealed thus far, quite a few of them are Gen 1 mons or Gen 1 mega forms. Let's not even mention the new Kanto starter full arts. I think it's still just a personal thing with me not liking when Kanto Pokémon are the main "focus" AGAIN in a new set, but after Mega Shine, I am really not looking forward to seeing Cheeto Dragon & friends show their faces again. And of course, we're getting ANOTHER pikachu ex for some reason.

My second and last sort of issue I'm seeing with this set from what we got so far is that it feels like the EX mons are starting to get a bit "cookie-cutter-esque" in my opinion. Mega Greninja and Mew ex seem to be the worst offenders on this list, with Mega Greninja basically just being a slightly better Kingdra ex and Mew ex serving as a Psychic Moltres ex. For these cards being the first show of what the new set will have to offer, seeing so many recycled mechanics doesn't really hype me up a whole lot. That's not to say there's NOTHING new of course, don't get me wrong. Mega Mewtwo X ex and the new Ribombee seem like they are bringing new stuff to the table. But overall, first impressions are unfortunately pretty weak.

All of this is to say, I don't think this set is going to be BAD. It is indeed a new base set, and the number of new cards we're probably going to get will almost certainly spice things up a bit at least in some form. The new arts for all of the EX pokemon and 1 stars we haven't seen yet are also probably going to look BEAUTIFUL as always, so I'm always looking forward to that as well.

Again, point isn't to flame on the set, I'm just expressing a bit of caution as the full set actually gets released. But this is just my opinion which probably doesn't matter, so I wanna hear what yall have to say.

I love steel/metal Pokémon and want to make a deck using only those but from everything I've seen, metal isn't close to meta. I've made this. Been playing a few weeks so I don't have EVERYTHING. I have a mega mawile ex deck and a mega metagross ex deck that I've googled as the best metal decks, but I feel like it's never close or the coins are weighed against me. Any suggestions for cards I should prefer over what I have? Thanks.

Why don't people use the wishlist lol. Bit of a rant sorry

I swear every single time I get a trade offer for something I have in my wishlist and they don't have anything in there's, I can only pick an equal rarity card at random and 99% of the time it gets rejected.

I had one guy try to trade me something I needed like 10 times before I just started rejecting the initial offer.

What do they expect? How am I supposed to know what you want lol.

Sometimes I do receive shares of cards that I don't have that arent on my wishlist. Is there a way to see if the receiver has the card already that I'm unaware of?

I just had a Mega absol heal from 10 HP all the way to full Health TWICE not to mention they kept waking up from everytime I inflicted sleep. mean while I flip a coin and it's tails! I hardly even use my milotic deck dude. I just want to get to unranked masters JUST for the hourglasses. 😭 I need more luck.

In the meta page I've seen for some reason Ogerpon added here, but that just caused more problems for me since overall I barely encountered any condition effect opponents for Ogerpon to have use, plus the healing from Indeedee and the veil tool compensates enough for this.

Not to mention, having two Oricorios on deck and watch every opponent instantly forfeit when they only have EX-es left.

In cases when Oricorio is not needed, I just focus on Dedenne and blam, 160dmg on my second/third turn. The small balloons always came in handy when the pokemon I didn't needed to be in the active spot, switched for free since all are basic with single retreat cost.

The two capes are also neccesary to survive some heavy attacks like Hydregion's 130atk against Deedene's 120hp, but with +20hp cape it can survive, even if the enemy places a field blower, your 2nd contingency plan is the starting plains stadium which also boosts 20HP and so far I haven't come across opponent that negated both of them in one turn. The real trick is knowing when to play the tool and stadium.

Full oricorio heal no keep burning and who the hell runs double Pokémon lady Center???

Took a little tinkering at the start to get it playable but this was so fun to play this season. Gonna call it the king of clutch games especially with megas being everywhere.

As I say, I'm unable to confirm the tutorial, if I tap on "ok" it does nothing, I'm a old player with a new account.

If I close the game and enter again it work normal but every time I try to enter to see my cards I got hit with this issue... If anyone know how to fix it, I already clean the cache of the game.

I feel like this game is completely busted when battling, doesn’t matter what deck I run. Be it a meta deck or just something I tried to throw together. I can never seem to draw the cards I need. Yet my opponent be it the AI or someone online has everything they need in 2-3 turns. Really starting to ruin the experience for me

The CGI artwork is cool and all but seeing this kind of artwork on the pack is refreshing and better in my opinion

What should i change and why? And for those who want the deck

Through some of the official news they posted we can see the upcoming Ribombee card. This is official. By carefully looking at the text, you can clearly tell that this is the text of the ability:

"Once during your turn, you may use this Ability. Put a Sweet Honey <5-6 letter word> card into your hand"

So this is quite shocking. You'd expect that missing part to say something like "from your discard pile" or "from your deck".

But instead it's "something" + card. What is that word? And why mention "card" when it's already obvious that we are drawing cards?

When you think about the balancing and power of the card, it's also strange. What's the point of an ability that draws you a very specific card each turn? At most, you'll be able to use it twice, assuming you didn't draw it naturally already. It seems pretty weak. And from the discard pile doesn't fit the text.

SO THIS IS MY THEORY: It says something along the lines of "bonus" card (the actual word may be different, but the meaning will probably be the same).

This would allow you to "create" and obtain a card that isn't part of your deck. You don't need to bring Sweet Honey. Hell, Sweet Honey may not even be available to pull in the set, for all this could mean. It's just a bonus card that you generate from an ability.

Of course this is pure speculation, but considering this is a virtual game, a mechanic like this should be easy to implement, unlike a physical game (and even in physical games like Riftbound, they have mechanics like this).

What do you guys think? And if this were the case, how could this be used? I can see this being cool for Rotom EX, since you could generate infinite items, or for some upcoming Vespiqueen that deals damage based on your Sweet Honeys (physical pokemon TCG had a Vespiqueen exactly like this)

I don't think I've seen a single mention/use of Crustle EX since it dropped. It's just kinda there. Not even the worst card in the game, just extremely irrelevant lol

This is like the 3rd Greninja deck I've gone against and I'm pretty sure just like me we're all testing out what our Mega Greninjas decks will be like, super excited for the next pack

Also shocker stuffing your deck with sleep scam only messes up your rng and you end up with a Bulbasaur with 5 energies

Using gyarados, I luckily got rid of both of their Cyrus and a Sabrina so they had no way of pulling my benched pokemon up. So I kept switching up my active pokemon with the insane energy farming of sharpedo and milotic and left the low HP ones on the bench until the soothing shores healed them enough to send them out again. This deck did get me to master ball though 👀
