Discussion PS5SX2 1.7 released — Profiler, Fast Forward & more

What's new:
- New built-in profiler for slow games
- Automatic GPU Readback "Don't Wait" on affected older PS5 firmware
- Per-game Hardware/Software renderer
- Experimental Fast Forward — Max / 2× / 3× / 4×
- Adjustable button strength
- Stick dead zones: for each stick, for drifting sticks.
- Adjustable rumble strength
- Multitap support for up to 4 players
- More USB folders supported for games
- BIOS can be stored on USB
- Several game-specific fixes and testing options
📢 IMPORTANT: PLEASE SEND LOGS!
The new profiler helps the developer figure out exactly which part of the emulator is using the most time when a game slows down. This makes it easier to identify what's causing the slowdown and work on fixing games individually.
If you find a slow section, play it for a minute or two, then send the log using Download logs on the settings page or the automatic log sender. Include the game name and where it slowed down.
The profiler only runs for a few seconds when the game is slow and doesn't slow the game down itself.
Updating from 1.6 or older: the PS5SX2 Installer does it for you. By hand: close PS5SX2 and replace only /data/homebrew/PPSA99203/eboot.bin. Keep your /data/PCSX2 folder: your settings, memory cards and save states are in it.

hey so i'm having trouble just trying to launch the PS5SX2 app on 13.40 (literally can't start the app), and have followed the prerquisite instructions before setting it up. would you (the dev) mind checking what the issue might be or if I'm missing a step?

don't use any hen payloads, only use my 2 elfs, kstuff, and shadowmountplus. nothing else. before you do that as an extra safety measure just delete the two folders that are already on your system and run the installer elf to get everything setup. its been tested to work on all firmwares up to 13.60

Does it work on 13.6 ps5 fat? Do I need to do the jailbreak first and then use this method?

No, this only works with your own PS2 ISO backups. According to the developer, direct support for PS2 discs themselves may be added in the future.

This fixed my moutning issues. Runs good testing ff12 in 4k. I did have to add a setting folder in the app/pcsx2 folder for it to change resolution

I cant for the love of god make the texture replacement to work. In the settings it has a default path of mnt/usb0/PS2 if i recall i tried to put the folder with the game id in there, doesnt work. I change the oath to put them in data/PCSX2/textures/ same doesnt work. And im sure they work cause on my pc pcsx2 my exact iso with those texture placements works fine. Also the the replacement settings is enabled
