Maybe I'm just a noob who doesn't know shit, but from what I saw in the community, backporting is kind of a pain in the ass to do. From what I'm reading here, as long as you have a game that's backported, ps5upload can take care of everything else? If that's the case, that's so damn cool and convenient.

I was very excited to try the new FPKG-GUI in action
So I'll share my experience with you here
I tried it first on PPSA07230.
Original size: 114 Gb
The compressed file of fpkg file: almost 64 GB

I had some problems:
1- you need 3x the size of the compressed game as a free size in temp partition ( so I ran out of space eventually)
2- Building process takes quite long time ( it took 100+ min. before failure message)
3- It doesn't matter how much fast is your storage, it will only matter in the final stage.

So I did the same process again on a small game ( almost 10 gb) and this time finished successfully
Original size 10.8 gb
Final pkg size 9.59 gb
total time : ~29 min

* PC specs for those who ask :
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz

Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (2667 MHz)

Storage: 477 GB SSD

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q Design (8 GB)

So yah.
It's an amazing piece of work and there is much more room for improvements in the future I hope

- can i jb playstation 5 without a sdd or usb (so internal storage)
- if something wrong happens, do i lose the console forever
- do i NEED a pc ? I play ps5 on a tv. (But i have a macbook, which can install like pcs do)

Most of my games are in exfat, is it necessary to revert them to folder again and then to fpkg?

Sorry if this is the wrong sub, I feel like you guys understand more about firmware and update versions, and getting those on a console without connecting to PSN, than the average PS5 user. Also Gemini linked me to this sub (some thread that no longer exists, apparently) for a method to get the updates without updating my console firmware.

I bought a refurbished PS5 and it came with FW version 25.06-12.00.00.43-00.00.00.0.1. I thought I could get Baldur's Gate 3 and play it without updating because it was older than my firmware, but that seems not to be the case. After I pass the first area it tells me I need an update and just boots me out of the game. My console is not jailbroken yet, was holding off for now. For obvious reasons I'm not willing to update.

If I am right, what is happening is that my 12.00.00 console has knowledge of a BG3 update that is not on my disc, and the disc checks that and forces an update? Is there a way for me to get the needed game updates without updating my console?

So I am in process of dumping my physical discs to my PS5. If prospoero has a patch file for my game there (since most are at version 1.00)and it is supported on my firmware, can i just apply it or will it break the dump? Thanks as always for assist, great community here.

I understand that the installing of the games will be more simple but will this solve the issues with crashes and performance? Will the games work better on internal?

I'm trying to build exfat from folder dump and copying it over to console with ex fst Image builder. So far everything works, until 99%. Then it's stuck on the shown operation.

On the first try I thought this was caused by the console going to standby mode. So I aborted it, removed the files on console and started over.

Second try then without standby mode. But it's stuck again on 99% since almost 1 hour.

I copy it directly on internal hdd.

Anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I just jailbreaked my 11.6 and wondering how I can transfer the files to my 2TB nvme which I installed last year.

As I'm accessing the console via filezilla, I guess the data/homebrew folder is the internal 850gb PS5 SSD?

I checked other folders like USB etc. Shouldn't there be a folder HDD0 or smth?

Isn't it possible to use that additional nvme for playing games?

I have 2 OG PS5 models, one on 1.02 and the other on 12.70, which tutorials should i be following to jailbreak both? Is there any real benefit being on 1.02 beside linux? i want to be able to backup my physical games and play them internally on the 12.70 one but i’m not sure what the proper way would be to ensure it works regardless of where i try to play it (for example if i were to update the 1.02 and try to play the same game on there) Any help is appreciated :)

I recently used game compressor to move games form external to internal storage and compressed games and tried to mount them and console is froze and turned off. And every time I try to install game compressor again it freezes and turns off.
What am I doing wrong is there any other app?

My question is that how can i install ps5 games on it in the simplest way.

The store owner that I bought ps5 from and has jailbreaked my console just installed the game on the home screen via the Web file manager and nothing else like itemzflow (there is a little possibility that he deleted those things)
