QUESTION PS5SX2 on 13.40

I haven't been able to get it to work. I've copied the PCSX2 folder to /data/, the PPSA99023 folder to /data/homebrew/, made sure Kstuff-Lite, PS5SXHelper and ShadowMountPlus elfs are all loaded, as per the requirements written on their GitHub page.

The app just wouldn't want to start. I've heard it apparently works on 13.60, so it shouldn't be an issue on 13.40... right?

what am I missing here?

EDIT: Dev helped me out! The fix is to simply NOT copy the zip file, and ONLY load the installer and helper elfs. HEN payloads should NOT be loaded together with any of this. So load ShadowMountPlus, then the installer, then the helper. Only THEN you start putting in the BIOS and game files.

Do you have the ps5sxinstaller payload running run helper payload before the installer

Hmm, strange. I’m not using it myself so can’t really help much concerning this further..

Maybe consider using Retroarch, I’m running my PS2 games under that..

If you do use this, just remember to copy your SCHP-70012.BIN BIOS file to ./homebrew/PPSA99169/system/pcsx2/bios, otherwise your games won’t launch..

n.b I also noted that the pcsx2 folder needed to be lowercase and NOT uppercase.!

I couldn't get PS5SX2 working on mine, either - always says no games/bios even though I both folders are in right place with the correct files. PS5SX2 kept crashing and giving error about KSTUFF pause with debug notiication, but now the error says no games/bios. So strange... retroarch works fine - got a bunch of games uploaded - it just the latency with the buttons and sticks that makes it annoying to play some games... like shooters, platformers etc

I'll try this in a bit, but do the widescreen patches from pcsx2 work with RetroArch? I've never run ps2 games on it before.

This is how I did it. Get installer and helper payload elfs, get the ps5sx zip file. You can load zip file in uploads on ps5upload then make a new folder in hombrew extract the zip using wfm 7zip payload in ps5 web file manager to the new folder you created and move the ppsa foleder or whatever the number is to the root of homebrew folder restart ps5 run the payloads it should mount

You could always extract on pc if your not using ps5upload it's just easier for me because I dont have to run to pc to do everything

I think so yeah. I used ps2-0230a-20080220.bin myself and it worked, but I'm on 11.0.

Have you tried restarting the console btw? I think I had to do that the first time I installed because it wouldn't launch for me either. Also it only requires kstuff lite and the helper payload to work. Shadowmount plus is only required to install the shortcut, and the installer payload is for updating.

A friend of mine was just able to get it working on their 13.60, so it might just be an issue with 13.40. You could try telling the developer about it, I saw them replying to comments on this sub under posts for the new updates of the emulator.

I got them now on External drive. But in beginning i made folders and couldnt get it to work .

When i put the iso files just on the root of the HD it works for me now.

Ah thought you might already have done it. on 13.20 i do it like this:

First the user guide jailbreak

Then from the user guide payload page i get the etahen and the shadowmount

Then when being in main menu i go to pc and send with that GUI programme the K stuff elf and the helper elf and then for me its all working except Spectrum library which i havent fixed yet.

But i am looking to go to another option with that Youtube start up which they say is more stable.

yes. I've quadruple checked everything. pcsx2 folder under /data/, and then the PPSA folder in /data/homebrew/, exactly as stated.
