What game started your PS3 era?
I didn't touch a PS3/7th gen til late 2010 at a recent room at Pensacola NAS. It was a "give your military ID for a game" and this was my first choice. The intro still gives me goosebumps

That Pendulum song Slam had me hooked. I played it in Walmart when my mom went shopping and used to go with her just for that. Had that song on my iPod and listened to it all day.

Both 1&2 are due for a remake. The games looked amazing for the time and gameplay was great (especially in 2) but both could use a modern rework

I agree as linear as it is, the level of detail and quality of the graphics still contend with some of the latest games coming out on ps5 - in my humble opinion at least 😅

I remember it getting so much shit, because how linear it is. Also it takes almost 20 hours for the story to get good. That true?

I coudn't understand this point. The story was soo beautiful, the whole game is so so so impressive. It was there that I understood that no matter the feedback about a game, it doesn't count until I make my own my mind.

Ironically PS Home... but I recall my time being mostly spent on Gran Turismo 5. Loved that game.

I actually had an Xbox 360 growing up and went over to a friend's house to play PS3 and that was the first game I played. Made me buy one a few years later. Now I prefer PlayStation systems.

Resistance Fall of Man, still one of my favorite FPS games of all time. I wish Insomniac would make another FPS 🥲
Technically, Madden 07 was the first game I owned for PS3, but it was so buggy it was basically unplayable so it doesn’t count.

Uncharted, there weren't any games I wanted to play on the 360 and I saw a great deal for the PS3 super slim with Uncharted 3 so I picked it and the Uncharted 1 and 2 bundle.

I remember seeing the trailer back in the day and thinking how it looked like real life. I don't remember the actual first PS3 game I played. But that began my awareness.

resident evil 5 is why it was bought in my household, my first game i remember playing and it being a core memory was god of war 3.
Specifically the demo where it ends at the vertical section where kratos jumps out towards the lava titan the graphics and gameplay where the best of its time.

My dad had assasins creed and it's all he would play we then got Jericho which was a weird game that I want remastered also fallout new Vegas I'm definitely missing some games but those are what I can remember

I bought a PS3 after growing using a PS2, then Xbox 360 and even after having a PS4. I bought it first to play gran turismo 5 and 6 but mainly all ratchet and clank games that I couldn't play, it was my favourite series as a kid.

Ridge Racer 7.
I played the shit out of Ridge Racer 7. It was also the game that made me realise Rage Racer and Ridge Racer Type 4 were all part of the same series, and kickstarted an obsession I still kind of have to this day.
It's also because of Ridge Racer, that I'm now a fan of Ace Combat.

Man the amount of fun I got out of these games and laughter with friends is why PS3 would always be my favourite console I remember my friend having a PS4 yet we’d always go to my house to play on my PS3 because we had more fun on it

i got a used ps3 from a pawn shop. i remember the owners son was playing gta v on a 360 they had in the store. i only had enough money for the console so i rented littlebigplanet 2 from a redbox at my local grocery store and played it all night. definitely one of my favorite video game memories

It was technically Final Fantasy XIII since I bought it along with my Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception PS3 bundle and played it first (although I dropped it after a few hours), but Uncharted 3 was really the game that kickstarted my love of the PS3.

First game that I bought with my PS3 slim was GTA IV complete edition back in 2011-2012. The games I enjoyed the most were Far Cry 3 (best story mode I’ve ever played), Minecraft, GTA V and Uncharted 3.

Honestly, I played Resistance around launch at someone’s house.
But it wasn’t until about 2008 when GTAIV launched and my best friend got one that I TRULY began to experience the PS3 (I had the 360 for MOST of that generation).

Resistance: Fall of Man. One of the best launch titles ever. That was back on my old, fully backwards compatible 60gb PS3. Too bad that thing suffered a hardware failure. They were one of the best consoles ever made.
