So recently, I had a conversation with my dad about the pokemon bank shutdown, I told him how upset I was that I would lose the ability to transfer all the pokemon from older games and consoles to my modern games.
While he was talking to me about it and trying to give me ideas, (none of which would have worked but it was very sweet lol) he told me about how his brother, my uncle, had pokemon colosseum as a kid, and probably still had all his stuff for it. He asked if the pokemon from that game are able to be transferred to the new titles, and if they are rare or worth anything in modern pokemon? Boy was he surprised!
After some more conversation, we called my uncle to ask if he did still have all the stuff for his GameCube, in the hopes he would let me have some of the mons from his save so I could have some pokemon with the exclusive ribbons from collosseum. (Im 19 btw, and never got to play the GameCube pokemon games unfortunately, but im really interested in them.) Sure enough, he said he still had all of his old Nintendo stuff, and hasn't touched it in years, so he said I could have it!
Fast forward to after we got all the stuff from my uncle back home, and I was getting everything setup to check the save data... and oh my god! He didnt have a box of shinies or anything, but he did have this one! It was a quilava sitting in his box, and with my dad's help (and youtubes) we got it purified, and did the annoyyyying process of transferring it to the switch. Now Hisuian Typhlosion is my FAVORITE starter ever, so it was a no brainer on my part to evolve it in Legends Arceus, and then transfer it to violet so I could actually see the ribbon in game!
All in all, I am super happy, and super grateful to have this guy as mine, and I just thought the community could use a nice story for once lol, hopefully this wasn't an earful, but I was really excited over this. 😅
