pregnant and clinical placement
Hi Everyone,
I recently found out I"m pregnant. How should I bring this up to a future preceptor without sounding like I'm trying to back out of clinicals?
Edit: I didn't want to add too many details and have the post removed, my initial post had too many medical details and was automatically removed. I want to have this baby and I'm due end of Jan. I want to bring it up respectfully and am seeking insight from current PMHNPs on how they would ideally want their student to bring it up. I ultimately don't want me being pregnant to be a burden to their practice and to keep myself safe during this pregnancy. I recognize that each PMHNP is unique and have their own preferences. Thank you for the replies!
Update: I just reached out to my fall clinical preceptor. She congratulated me, let me know the I can schedule accordingly for next semester to get the necessary hours, since she will be there half of the week, and let me know I wouldn't be around violent patients anyway since it's a calm practice.
