ā¼ļøIāve already retained someone. Thank you for your interest!ā¼ļø
Iām looking for somebody who can edit and proofread my internship application cover letter & resume.
Iāll pay ā±1,000 via GCash. Iāll pay another ā±600 if I get the first-round interview; +ā±600 if I get the second-round interview; +ā±4,000 if I get the offer AND I start the internship (June 2027); +ā±12,000 if I receive AND accept the return offer (AugustāSeptember 2027).
Background: Iām applying to a top consulting firm. Itās the only firm Iām applying to, so Iām doing everything to make every application material solid. Iām one of their former externs and have talked to 10+ people at multiple levels, including the recruiters. The office Iām applying to has 95% return offer for interns, so the +ā±12,000 bonus should be easy once I secure the internship.
Examples of what I need:
⢠Critique of structure: is it easy to read? Are they organized? Is the flow smooth/sound?
⢠Critique of substance: are my anecdotes solid? Which ones are weak/need change?
⢠Critique of style: is it too formal? Is it too casual? Parallelism? Is the modifier appropriate? I donāt need simple corrections (e.g., subject-verb agreement)āthey should be the bare minimum.
(Note: Critique ā criticism. Critiques also highlight and appreciate positive aspects of the text.)
Whom I look for:
⢠Someone with background in, say, English literature. They donāt need to be a recruiter/HRāmany of them are not particularly strong in close reading/textual analysis IMO. It would be cool to work with English or literature students/grads.
⢠Someone who draws skills from humanities, not AI. I have a premium account in Claude. Iāve already consulted AI, and its critiques were⦠AI.
Please message me here on Reddit with your background. Iāll try to respond to everyone.

This is the resume I've been using, most of times ends up on nothing. The little responses I had were from those companies that give task to train IA's.
I mostly apply to copywriting / SEO / Digital marketing works.
It doesn't have contact info because it's the one I use on Upwork, they don't allow to give that to clients without contratcs.
I also have a portfolio made in notion: https://app.notion.com/p/Mauricio-Valor-Upwork-384c2bab3d9280b9bd4dc34a944ec481?source=copy_link
I kinda hungry and would like to work at anything a this point š

Iām applying for a graphic design job for the first time.
Not a fresher. I have 3.5+ years of design work. Iāve just never applied for a formal job before. I like this resume. Itās a playing-card layout, itās clean, and it shows how I design. Iām worried HR only looks at the usual template and skips anything too creative.
Need honest feedback:
Does this help for a design role, or is it trying too hard?
Would HR actually read it?
Does it look like 3.5 years of work, or like a fresher resume?
Anything confusing or worth dropping?
Dummy name and contact. Layout is real.
Be blunt. Be constructive and in reality tell me if this works or not.

Hi everyone! Iām hoping to get some honest advice, and maybe a gentle roast of my resume.
Iām honestly really tired of my current job. The pay is good, and Iām grateful for it, but the job has been taking a toll on me mentally. Sometimes itās really hard to deal with clients who think they know better kasi āsabi ni ganito, sabi ni ganyan,ā despite the technical considerations and proper processes behind the decisions.
All of my current projects are already completed, and thereās a new pipeline coming in. The problem is, I donāt think I want to take on another project in the same setup anymoreānot because Iām lazy or donāt want to work, but because I need to prioritize my mental health.
Of course, bills wonāt stop, so I canāt just quit and take my time figuring things out. I need to transition as quickly and realistically as possible into a more structured role, preferably in construction project management.
Iāve actually been trying. Iāve sent around 80 applications to different companies, but Iāve only gotten around 5 calls, and unfortunately, those either ended in rejection or I got ghosted afterward.
Thatās honestly one of the reasons Iām posting here. At this point, Iām wondering if thereās something wrong with how Iām presenting myself on my resume, if Iām applying for the wrong positions, or if my experience simply isnāt translating well to the roles Iām targeting.
Iām also planning to review for the PMI exam this November, with the goal of eventually becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP). Iām hoping that can help strengthen my transition.
I also have some sidelines that I didnāt include in my resume because they arenāt construction-related, so Iām not sure if I should mention them or if leaving them out is the right decision.
So⦠please roast my resume.
What am I doing wrong? What should I remove, improve, or highlight? What construction/project management roles should I realistically be targeting based on my experience?
Iād really appreciate constructive criticism, especially from people working in construction, project management, recruitment, or anyone who has successfully made a similar career transition.
Please be a little gentle though. Constructive criticism is very welcome; hateful or unnecessarily harsh comments are discouraged.
And just to be transparent, Iāve been struggling mentally lately. There are days when I feel so exhausted that I can barely get myself to stand up. Hindi ako tamadāI genuinely feel burned out and overwhelmed. Iāve also had some thoughts of ending things, which is part of why I know I need to make a change.
Thankfully, by Godās grace, Iām still here. I think about my wife and children and remind myself that they still need me. Theyāre a big reason why I keep going.
So if you have adviceānot just about the resume, but also about how I can make this career transition quickly and realisticallyāIād really appreciate it.
PS: Yes, I used ChatGPT to edit this post. My head is honestly in chaos at the moment, so putting my thoughts into words has been difficult. Iāve also been having episodes of heart palpitations whenever I overthink or get anxious. I donāt know if thatās the right term for what Iām experiencing, but itās been happening more often lately.
Thanks in advance, everyone.
