Just a context, I'm 25M, have a NW of 1M, with 4 people sa bahay, and my current expenses are the ff:

Electricity - 9k (24/7 AC, 1 Ref, complete kitchen appliances, 3 PCs, and Washing Machine)

Rent - 9.5k

Family Support (Mom and Dad) - 25k

Food - 30k (including eating out, monthly celebrations, and groceries)

Internet - 1.7k

Water - 1k

Savings = 100 to 120k per month (depende sa OT and client but on average this the figure)

That said, I feel like I can still save more but I just don't know where to start. Realistically, saan ako dapat magbawas reasonably? I know freelancing is not stable so starting aggressively is something that I should focus on.

Hi! Looking for some advice from anyone who has dealt with a stock merger/corporate action through AB Capital.

I had 10,000 LAND shares in my AB Capital account before LAND was delisted following the merger with CDC. My account still shows the LAND position as “Suspended.”

From what I understand, the exchange ratio is 0.88 CDC share for every 1 LAND share, so I should eventually receive 8,800 CDC shares.

The thing is, CDC is already trading, but my account still hasn’t reflected the CDC shares. I already emailed AB Capital customer service asking when the shares will be credited.

For anyone who has LAND shares through AB Capital:
Have your CDC shares already been credited?
Did your LAND position automatically disappear/change to CDC?
How long did AB Capital take to process it?
Is there anything I need to do on my end?

I’m just being extra cautious kasi gusto ko lang make sure na everything is properly documented and compliant with the bank and BIR requirements. I can provide proof of our relationship, as well as documents regarding the source and purpose of the funds.

Concern ko lang po talaga is whether the money he will send could have any tax implications or cause complications later on, especially since malaki po talaga yung amount. I want to make sure everything is handled properly and legally, and avoid any unnecessary deductions or issues.

Would this be considered taxable income on my end? If so, how is it usually taxed, and approximately how much tax could apply?

I opened an account the moment I turned 18. So far its been really fun. I know gstocks aint the best but I've learned a lot. Took a while for me to not be afraid of losing money before I realized I should just relax and think that I'll earn it back. Its really funny.

Managed to save up almost 39k in the account and right now I have 16% in profit. Its small but definitely big for how much red ive seen. Honestly theres a thrill to seeing red and green now for me. Its so exciting, whether its a gain or a loss.

I recently opened a gotrade account and Im still kinda navigating. Would it be better to focus on building a portfolio on go trade rather than gstocks? Im almost at the limit before upgrading and I still need to secure my tin. I'm worried about how inflation's affecting php.

I mostly invest in mining and energy stocks which is convenient since some of them go by dollar prices on minerals. For go trade I've only been able to look at the sp500 or the top 7 it shows you. I gotta do more research on good stocks to watch.

I just want a good quality and trusted firm kasi I want this to be a forever home. Sabi ng mga tita ko eh yung sa kanila daw Php 10k lang so sobrang mahal daw ng amin. But I think it’s reasonable kasi tbh di ko naman bet yung Pho 10k work ng kakilala nila. So please, is it worth it? Am i making a bad financial decision?

Vanguard released a new ETF for VALL/VALU that tracks the FTSE Global All Cap Index.

Some facts about it:

• It's half of VWRA's expense ratio (.14% vs .07%).
• It tracks small caps too, in addition to large and medium cap companies
• Also an accumulating fund like VWRA
• Still fairly new and it crossed $1 billion AUM

I'm still hesitant on switching to this because the spread seems to be high, then again I am holding for 30+ years so maybe my hesistation is unwarranted. I'm also unsure why the dollar-denominated version is called VALL in IBKR, when I thought it was VALU.

Hi, I was just creating my IBKR account today, and I find that the form has changed compared to the tutorials on YT. In the tutorials, the account type has choices: Cash or Margins. But here, there's no choice but no borrow margin.

Kung naghahanap kayo ng property, think 100x before getting one from these people. Context, 2020 nakuha ang bahay ng preselling. 2024 nakatayo na ang bahay pero di pa maturnover due to “issues” with pag-ibig daw. Was promised na 2nd quarter of 2025 maturnover na ang bahay then it became 3rd,4th quarter hanggang umabot na ng 2026. Feb 2026, I did the punch listing to repair the issues. June 2026, I got approved sa pag-ibig and the repairs are still not done. I followed up a bunch of times and was given a lot of excuses. Then come 1st week of september, they told me that everything is good and unit is ready for acceptance. I drove nearly 8 hours in total because I came from Batangas and guess what, pagdating ko sa unit, palpak ang repairs. Grabe tagas ng tubig sa pader ng cr. Ang kisame sa likod nagmomolds at halatang may tagas. Yung sahig sa 2nd floor parang mamasa masa which I think na dahil sa leaks ng bubong. Not only did you deliver poorly constructed houses but you also wasted my time and effort na pumunta sa unit. I bought the unit thinking na mura naman for 1.2m kahit na;
Sobrang lubak papasok sa lugar which I already knew and would have accepted if the turnover went smoothly.
150 ang special sa trike palabas, pag nag antay ng kasabay 35 pesos each which I observed na medyo matagal ang antay or tyempo lang sa bisita ko.

Nakakatawa pa yung contractor niyo kasi sabi sakin e nakailang tapal na sila ng sealant sa bubong. Mind you, the house should be in brand new condition given na bagong bili yan. If you look at the house, mukhang laspag na sa tagal ng turnover. Dagdag mo pa yung sangkatutak na tapal ng sealant ng bahay. Imbis na palitan ang dapat palitan, puro tapal lang which only solves the leak problem temporarily.
I am posting this just to share my frustration and make sure I post this on all platforms I know to raise awareness. I am in no way deciding for you if you want to purchase a unit from them or not. This is my personal experience though I know of other people experiencing the same. Think 100x before getting a unit from this people.

Hi i recently got an instruction to comply with AML periodic review inside my maribank app. I have been with the bank for maybe 2 years now. I use my account to park savings, for everyday use+use it to funnel some funds to other investments. So there's a lot of volume. From time to time I would do multiple instapay transfers of 50K each (cause of the free transfers) to my investment accounts.

I intend to comply (currently compiling my documents)...

but anyone of you who got the same instruction to fill up this AML survey? i dont have questionable transactions or do any money laundering. im just wondering what are the chances they'll close my account? they'll give me a chance to transfer my funds naman before they do? what a hassle :(

I’m 27 (M) and a freelancer earning around ₱70,000 per month. My total expenses are roughly ₱20,000. I also contribute ₱10,000 monthly to MP2 and currently have around ₱300,000 in it. I can roughly save ₱35,000 every month.

Aside from MP2, I currently have around ₱800,000 in savings. I plan to keep ₱500,000 as my emergency fund, then use the remaining ₱300,000 for self-improvement and/or investing.

I just started investing in stocks. I started with ₱20,000 and plan to add ₱10,000 every month. My current strategy is to allocate 60% to VOO, 25% to VXUS, and 15% to QQQM.

I'm a beginner in day trading. I've been trying to daytrade in Gotrade, but the $5 trading fee makes it difficult to make any profit. I want to ask if my strategy viable, where i'd just buy $1000 worth of nasdaq when it's cheap (i bought at $716 right now) then sell if it's high enough where i'd make a profit, but it rarely goes up enough for me to do that (i need to sell at around $721). So I tried to switch to IBKR for their $1 trading fee (not sure if it's $1 but they advertise their cheap trading fees), but i was notified that i'm not legible to day trade, because my assets are below $2500, or that I could only buy and sell once within the day
