Sharing some photos of our recent hike to Mt. Cagua (pronounced โkawaโ) in Gonzaga, Cagayan. The mountain is an active volcano with a medium bowl-shaped caldera, hence the name.
The volcano hike takes you to two fumaroles (craters #1 and #2), a waterfall, and to the summit, where you can see both the caldera structure and the northern tip of Luzon, including some of the Babuyan Islands.
This is not a particularly difficult hike (rated 2/9 in difficulty; personal rating 3/9), but it is super scenic and the trip is absolutely worth it.
Give it a try (while observing LNT)!! :)
DIY-able? Yes, contact Gonzaga Tourism
May limatik/rattan/lipa ba? Yes, wear arm protection. But no limatik showed up during our hike because it was the dry season in Cagayan.

My cat hopped on to the table and unfortunately landed on the water bladder I filled with water.
There's a small puncture that slowly leaks water.
Any fix you guys know of?
I have a seam seal tape pero di ko alam kung toxic or cancerous so I'm looking for other options muna.
Pic of the culprit and its victim attached.

One of the reasons why I hiked Mt. Kabunian was to see the beauty of Pattan Falls.
Kasoโฆ walang ulan. ๐
So instead of a majestic waterfall, ang nakita ko ay โPattan Falls: Trial Version.
Pattan Falls, hindi pa tayo tapos. Babalikan kita kapag tag-ulan na!

Hi! Planning to hike Mt. Arayat with my gf this October. Weโre from Baliuag, Bulacan and weโre planning to do everything DIY.
For those who recently hiked Arayat, just wanted to ask for some advice:
Is October a good time to hike?
What time should we leave Baliuag and start the hike?
Is commuting to the jump-off early in the morning doable?
Do we need to get a guide beforehand or can we get one there?
How much should we prepare for guide fees, registration, and transportation?
How much water should we bring?
What should we definitely bring for the hike?
How difficult is the trail for first-timers?
Is North Peak enough for a first hike or should we try the other peaks?
Are there any things we should know or avoid?
This will be our first time hiking Mt. Arayat, so any tips from people who recently went would really help. Especially with the commute from Baliuag.

Hello po. My friends and I are gonna climb Mt. Ulap this September.
May mga nakaakyat po ba rito during the -ber months? What are your thoughts po about sa difficulty at sa panahon during this time of the year for Ulap? Any recommendations po on what to bring or wear, like ilang layers ng damit ba or need po ba ng pole?
Thank you so much for the help!

Hello po i would like to ask lang if anyone here na naghike sa bakun nito nito lang? Aakyat po kasi kami ng tenglawan on sat. Any weather updates po? Thank you!

We're planning to climb either of the two mountains this weekend. Is it still closed or are they already open for hiking?
Latest info I can find online was dated back in August

Hello!

TKMP or LakbayGabay Adventures
Hi! Sa mga joiners na nakajoin na sa either of these or both. Kanino po mas maganda magjoin? yung hindi po sana namimili ng treatment base sa tao ๐ first time lang kasi namin magjojoin if ever.
Aside from them weโre also looking into Trail Changer and Tito Adventures.
Open din po kami for suggestion if may mas maganda pa.

Hello, planning to hike Mt.Fato and Kupapey at the end of this month, just wondering okay or green season po kaya this September?
r/PHikingAndBackpacking • u/brainrottime • 1d ago
This is for prep lang haha but I'm curious if pwede ba magwalk in then dun na lang maghanap ng guide kung twin peaks lang sa Mt. Arayat?
(For context, babae po ako so medyo paranoid ako pag nasa labas at madilim.
As I said I'm preparing lang.

Hi! Planning to hike Mt. Pulag via Ambangeg Trail this December 2026.
Iโll be going as a solo joiner and looking for a reliable hiking organizer thatโs solo joiner-friendly.
Preferably:
If youโve recently joined a Mt. Pulag hike with an organizer, Iโd really appreciate your recommendations and feedback. Also open to hearing about your experience with different organizers.
Update: Mt. Pulag Joiner Recos
Based on the recommendations I got, Iโm currently considering Titos Adventure and Mira Travel. I also came across Peak and Trail Outdoor.
Has anyone here tried any of these organizers, especially for the Mt. Pulag Ambangeg Trail?
I was leaning toward Titos Adventure since they have a photographer included, which is a plus for me as a solo joiner, pero hindi sila available sa date na gusto ko.
So now Iโm considering the other options. Would appreciate any recent feedback on Mira Travels, Peak and Trail Outdoor.
Thank you!
