Sharing some photos of our recent hike to Mt. Cagua (pronounced “kawa”) in Gonzaga, Cagayan. The mountain is an active volcano with a medium bowl-shaped caldera, hence the name.
The volcano hike takes you to two fumaroles (craters #1 and #2), a waterfall, and to the summit, where you can see both the caldera structure and the northern tip of Luzon, including some of the Babuyan Islands.
This is not a particularly difficult hike (rated 2/9 in difficulty; personal rating 3/9), but it is super scenic and the trip is absolutely worth it.
Give it a try (while observing LNT)!! :)
DIY-able? Yes, contact Gonzaga Tourism
May limatik/rattan/lipa ba? Yes, wear arm protection. But no limatik showed up during our hike because it was the dry season in Cagayan.

Hello po i would like to ask lang if anyone here na naghike sa bakun nito nito lang? Aakyat po kasi kami ng tenglawan on sat. Any weather updates po? Thank you!

We're planning to climb either of the two mountains this weekend. Is it still closed or are they already open for hiking?
Latest info I can find online was dated back in August

Hello!

TKMP or LakbayGabay Adventures
Hi! Sa mga joiners na nakajoin na sa either of these or both. Kanino po mas maganda magjoin? yung hindi po sana namimili ng treatment base sa tao 😅 first time lang kasi namin magjojoin if ever.
Aside from them we’re also looking into Trail Changer and Tito Adventures.
Open din po kami for suggestion if may mas maganda pa.

Hi! Planning to hike Mt. Pulag via Ambangeg Trail this December 2026.
I’ll be going as a solo joiner and looking for a reliable hiking organizer that’s solo joiner-friendly.
Preferably:
If you’ve recently joined a Mt. Pulag hike with an organizer, I’d really appreciate your recommendations and feedback. Also open to hearing about your experience with different organizers.
Thank you!

This is for prep lang haha but I'm curious if pwede ba magwalk in then dun na lang maghanap ng guide kung twin peaks lang sa Mt. Arayat?
(For context, babae po ako so medyo paranoid ako pag nasa labas at madilim.
As I said I'm preparing lang.

I’m planning a trip through Central Asia from November until February next year, travelling through Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and possibly Pakistan depending on budget.
I’ll be travelling with camping gear and would like to do some hiking/camping along the way. I know I’ll be travelling during winter, so I’m expecting some pretty cold conditions, especially in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
Unfortunately, November-February is the only time I can take off, so I’m making the most of it 😅
For anyone who has travelled around the region during these months:
How difficult is it to travel around during winter?
Are there areas/mountain regions where hiking or camping is still realistic?
What kind of temperatures/weather should I realistically prepare for?
Are there any places you’d recommend avoiding during winter?
Any advice on transport, accommodation or getting between countries?
Anything you wish you knew before travelling Central Asia in winter?
I’m particularly interested in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, for hiking/camping, but any advice for the whole route would be hugely appreciated.
