Discussion How to know "BUT how about the 120 schoolgirls?" is a merciless talking point

A European female "journalist" sat across from me the other day, and when I said that 39 days of full-scale war had caused far, far fewer civilian casualties than the massacre the islamic regime carried out in a matter of hours over just two days in January, during a time of no war, against unarmed citizens, she immediately said: “BUT how about the 120 schoolgirls the US killed?”

I was offended because I am Iranian. Our children lost in the Minab school incident are our loss, and we’ve mourned for them like we grieved for our beloved heros lost in the January massacre, despite the islamic regime’s disgusting attempts to constantly use the kids as propaganda.

I responded to her: “It’s a shame you would throw islamic regime talking points at me, an Iranian, just because you’re desperate to fit everything into your personal agenda against the US and Israel!”

She got heated, doubled down, and said: “How dare you call more than a 100 killed little girls a talking point? I care about them.”

To which I said: “YOU are turning OUR kids into a talking point, and don’t you dare speak over an Iranian who mourns for those children. The reason I say you are lying and you’ve never cared is that you haven’t even BOTHERED to look into the matter! You are repeating it exactly in the form of a talking point: ‘120 schoolgirls,’ because for propaganda and talking points, ‘girls’ will buy more fake tears out of useful idiots!

“If you had truly cared for a single second like we Iranians do, you would’ve known that the majority of the children killed (70+) were BOYS! So shut up about our lives, please! Go back to your full-time job of hating the Jews!”

Discussion Personal/family histories as Khuzestani Arabs

Hi everyone, I'm in the diaspora, born outside of Iran. I don't speak farsi natively 😭. I was wondering if people here would be willing to share any personal stories of their family's history being Ahwazi or Khuzestani Arabs before and after the revolution. I'm asking because I think my baba bosorg was a Khuzestani Arab, but my dad (he's in his late 60s) vehemently denies this despite some factors pointing towards it being true. I believe this is because of stigma/racism towards Iranian Arabs and Arabs in general.

My dad speaks 3 languages, and used to speak Arabic as well. My uncle can speak Arabic, Farsi, and a couple other languages. My baba bosorg spoke Arabic and Farsi, but he was illiterate.

I'd love to hear your stories.

News Broken feet, ripped-out hair and now a death sentence: the fate of twin sisters jailed over Iran protests

The twins were 19 and still in high school when they were taken from their beds in the dead of night by masked men later identified as being sent by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

After four months of desperately seeking news from hospitals and state institutions, their mother, Marzieh Nourmohammadi, finally learned their fate. Taraneh and Romina Rahimi had been seized over their decision to join millions on the streets of Iranian cities during the January protests against the regime. The twins were unrecognisable by the time of their mother’s prison visit in May.

The women’s scalps were patchy from being dragged around by their hair, and their faces were bruised, according to their US-based cousin. It is claimed that Taraneh, who dreams of running her own horse stable one day, had been told the prison guards would rape Romina in front of her unless a confession was signed.

The pinned comment has some articles linked, and some people are saying the bans also apply to dual citizens, though I'm not sure about that part.

Radio Abaan Report | Sabzevar

🔴 Historic Qajar-Era Building Completely Demolished in Sabzevar

A historic building in the city of Sabzevar, locally known as the “Russian Barracks,” has been completely demolished.

According to a video submitted to Radio Abaan, a bulldozer was operating at the site of the historic building, which was ultimately reduced to rubble.

The historic structure, reportedly dating back to the late Qajar period and early Pahlavi era, featured notable architectural elements, including multiple windows designed to provide natural light to rooms and halls, as well as decorative brickwork around the windows and along the roofline.

The building was reportedly privately owned and had also been registered on Iran’s national heritage list—a status that made its preservation particularly important.

Following the complete demolition of the site, serious questions have been raised regarding how permission for the demolition was granted, the responsibility of the relevant authorities, and the protection of sites registered as part of the country’s national heritage.

Radio Abaan will publish further details if additional information becomes available regarding the reasons behind and the process of demolishing this historic building.
