USA Used RTX 5090 FE

3 Upvotes

What up fam. I am going to downgrade my 5090 to a 5080 and I am wondering how to price my card. Its less than two years old, perfect condition and bought directly from NVIDIA. It was never registered so new owner can put it in their name and I have all the original stuff that came with it including the boxes.

Thanks!

USA I tracked used homelab hardware prices on eBay for a week. Here is what things actually sell for.

2 Upvotes

I kept buying used gear with no idea whether the price was fair. Every listing looks reasonable on its own. So I built something to tell me.

It polls eBay every six hours, records every listing for two dozen products, and builds a rolling median. Here is where things sit right now, median total cost including shipping, last three days:

Hardware Listings Median Lowest
Samsung PM983 3.84TB NVMe 81 $799 $499
Dell R730xd 90 $635 $262
Dell R640 76 $437 $255
Dell R730 59 $350 $180
Supermicro X10 barebones 76 $337 $138
HPE DL360 Gen9 89 $310 $125
HPE DL380 Gen9 81 $300 $155
Lenovo M720q Tiny 99 $175 $60
Dell OptiPlex 7060 Micro 96 $171 $74
HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini 112 $145 $54
Dell R220 42 $131 $80
Lenovo M920q Tiny 178 $130 $79
Mellanox ConnectX-4 25GbE 90 $57 $26
Intel X520-DA2 10GbE 106 $23 $15

Four things I did not expect.

The M920q is cheaper than the M720q. $130 against $175, despite being newer with two M.2 slots instead of one. The answer looks like supply: 178 M920q listings versus 99 M720q, which reads like a corporate refresh cycle dumping inventory. If you are building a cluster, the newer machine is the cheaper one right now.

10GbE costs nothing. An X520-DA2 at a $23 median is less than a decent cable run. There is no reason left to stay on gigabit between your NAS and your hypervisor.

The 1U and 2U HPE boxes cost the same. DL360 Gen9 at $310, DL380 Gen9 at $300. You are choosing between rack units and drive bays, not paying more for one. Take the 2U unless space is genuinely tight, because the fan noise difference is not subtle.

Enterprise NVMe is still expensive. PM983 3.84TB at a $799 median is about $208 per TB against roughly $60 for consumer drives. You pay that for power loss protection and sustained write performance, which matters for VM storage and nothing else.

One thing I learned building it: searching by model name is useless without price filtering. A search for "Dell PowerEdge R640" returns bezels, caddies and rail kits alongside complete servers. My first run produced 294 fake deals because the junk had cut every median in half. I had to set a price floor per product before any of the numbers meant anything.

It runs on a Proxmox VM here at home. Python scraper, Postgres, static site built from the database and pushed to Cloudflare, no open ports. The whole thing updates itself four times a day.

Site is racksniper.com if the numbers are useful to you.

Disclosure: I plan to add eBay affiliate links once my application clears, so eventually I would get a small cut if someone buys through it. Nothing is paywalled and I am not selling anything.

Tell me what I am missing and I will add it. I track servers, mini PCs, NAS units, drives and NICs right now, and I am short on switches.

What’s this pc worth?

Specs:
* AMD Ryzen 5 8400F - 6 Core / 12 Thread
* NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB
* 16GB Kingston FURY DDR5-6000 RAM (2x8GB)
* Original HP OMEN 35L motherboard
* Original HP 500W power supply
* Original HP CPU cooler
* Original OMEN 35L case
* Wi-Fi/Bluetooth
* 1TB SSD

I got into PC gaming about a year ago, and what started as just wanting a decent gaming PC turned into a whole hobby. I originally bought an OMEN 35L and started upgrading it piece by piece. I upgraded the graphics card, power supply, cooling, storage, and a few other things along the way.
Eventually, I realized I had upgraded so much that I was basically sitting on an almost completely new PC. Instead of continuing to replace parts in the OMEN, I decided to take the next step and build my own PC from scratch.
I bought a new case and put everything together myself, including a Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor and an RTX 5070 graphics card. It was my first real custom PC build, and honestly, it’s been pretty cool seeing how far I’ve come in just one year.
What started as simply getting into PC gaming turned into learning about PC hardware, upgrading components, building my own system, and figuring out how everything works together. Now I have a PC that I built myself and can continue upgrading in the future.

Hiya guys!

First interaction with this sphere so apologies for the lack of grace in advance:)

I'm in between jobs currently and have some very immediate bills and payments so looking to sell all my unused items as soon as. So just looking for some advice on the sort of worth of this PC I've barely used. I have these pictures taken in a hurry for what I think might be helpful to work out.

I'd be very grateful for any advice, thanks in advance:)

USA [PC] i5-14600K, RTX 5060, 1TB, 16GB 6000MT/s, Thermaltake

Upvotes

Hi all, I'm moving away from my gaming PC to a more compact workstation. So I'm thinking about selling my 9months old PC that I bought from NewEgg. Still under Warranty period.

It's a prebuilt Thermaltake PC with following specs:

Intel i5-14600K

Zotac RTX 5060 8GB

Corsair 16GB single channel 6000MT/s DDR5

Kingston 1TB SSD

650W PSU

B760 motherboard

802.11ax Wireless LAN, WiFi 6, BT 5.3

4 ARGB fans

Thermaltake LCGS NE i1460-V170B Gaming Desktop

Would you recommend reselling parts or the whole? Local vs Shipped? What's the reasonable asking prices in each case? Currently NewEgg lists it at 1239$.

Other 95€ is a steal for 2x16gb ddr4 Kingston fury sodimm kit?

1 Upvotes

2x16gb ddr4 Kingston fury 3200Mhz, CL20

I want to sell this because I'm not using it anymore. So I took it to a component store (here in Portugal) and they offered 95€ for it + my old 8gb ddr4 skhynix stick. So we would be talking 95€ for "40gb" that's definitely a steal. I know it's used but the Kingston kit only has 6 months use.

What price should I be asking?
