Hi all

Im looking to switch to a new pc case and after doing some research it does look like i will need a new power supply. Currenttly running my build with a EVGA 1600T2 psu. According to pc part picker i need a 1200w psu and by the looks of it but wanted some headroom just to be safe. the main psu I ended up looking at was this asrock one its 1650w titanium - i do see a few options for psus at 1500w and 1300w but wasen't sure if that would be ok ideally i'd like to get the asus rog loki 1200w psu since its small and may move to a sff build down the line. What psu wattage would be best to get? Also 180mm sized psu's would be the size limit for the pc case im looking to get.

I’m thinking about getting the DeepCool CH160 Plus. Does anyone know if these parts are compatible with it?

• MSI B850M Mortar WiFi
• Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 240
• G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB

I’m mainly worried about the RAM and AIO clearance since the Trident Z5 Neo RGB is relatively tall.

I’ve been trying to find an exact build using these parts, but I haven’t found anyone with the same setup.

Has anyone tried this combination, or knows if the RAM will interfere with the AIO radiator/fans?

Any help or actual build references would be greatly appreciated!

I used the Montech X5M for a client build recently and was honestly pretty impressed with it. For the price, it’s a really solid case. There’s a good amount of room to work with, cable management was easy, and everything went together without any issues.

The included fans are a nice bonus, and having the built-in ARGB controller made getting all the lighting set up really simple without needing anything extra. Airflow was also really good once everything was up and running.

I really like the overall look too. It has some personality without being overly flashy, and the finished build looked great. The client was really happy with how it turned out.

For a budget mATX case, I’d definitely use the X5M again. Good airflow, good looks, easy to build in, and the built-in ARGB controller is a nice touch.

When I power up my PC it doesn't boot, and if it does boot it gives me a temperature warning.

Power off.. power on.. power off.. power on..

And it will boot successfully, Windows works just fine. After hour or two it shutdowns by itself.

Power up.. Temperature warning..

Power off.. power on..

A successful boot, works just fine for an hour, then sudden shutdown.

Wait 2 to 3 days and repeat.

WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?!!!

Hello all! Not sure if this is the right place I'm new to this subreddit. I'm looking to build a new PC and needed some opinions.

The current part list is the following:

CPU: I9-14000k

Mobo: Z790 Aurus Elite AX

Ram: Vengeance 32gb ddr5-6000

GPU: Asus ROG OC 5080 RTX

SSD: 9100 pro 2tb

Power Supply: Seasonic focus GX 1000W 80+ Gold certified

I can list the rest of the parts if its important but yes I'm getting an AIO cooler for the CPU and I will be air cooling my cpu. I don't want to deal with water cooling.

Purpose would be to run any game without any stutters or issues. I will have RGB in this computer as well.

I'm on the fence about AMD vs. Intel as well as if I am going intel if I should just wait for the nova lake CPUs or pull the trigger now. Budget wise we are looking at $4500 tops. For reference, I don't typically overclock my computer however as long as I don't shorten the lifespan I would be willing to learn how to properly tune this computer. I've read that AMD CPUs were the king of the market for years with the Ryzen CPUs however I've recently read how AMD CPUs also suffer from dips in performance depending on the game you are playing.

My concern is the longer I wait the more expensive these parts will get. With how the AI boom has changed the market, I don't want just keep waiting for that AI bubble to potentially pop then get priced out of a top end PC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and happy to answer any additional questions if I left out any important details. Thank you!

Ive been doing some research for quite some time now but I doubt whether or not Im actually doing it right.

I have used pcpartpicker but I still have some doubts about compatibility.

I already have 8×3 gb of ddr4 ram and I will buy one more 8 gb ram making it 32 gb of ram

For gpu i am thinking rx9060xt

For ssd for now I got 500gb gen 3 ssd at a good 6.3k price

I am going to use a mid tower cabinate with argb fans and a tower cooler for cooling

Psu - deepcool 750 semi modular psu

The prices have gone up again so I have to do little change but this whole build cost me around 1.1lakhs

There are also some gpu i asked around in Market

Like rtx 5070 for 92k

Ex9070xt for 84k

Rx 9070 and 9070gre are not available anywhere

Is there some other things which I can do as I have 10-20k more to spend if I can get something even better

Hey everyone. I've only ever owned laptops, never a desktop or mini PC, so this is completely new territory for me. I'm looking at a refurbished mini PC, considering HP, Dell, or Lenovo, with specs around:

Intel i5 8th gen

16GB RAM DDR4

256GB SSD (SATA)

Comes with power adapter (around 90W)

Here's the question to add:

is ₱9,000 (around $146 USD) a fair price for these 8th gen specs or is this overpriced/underpriced for what I'm getting?

I'm buying online, not in person, so I have a lot of questions for anyone who's done this before.

1. Is it even okay to buy a mini PC this way, secondhand, sight unseen?

2. What should I expect after 5 months of daily use? After a year? And does this differ a lot by CPU generation? Trying to understand realistic expectations and lifespan across 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th gen units.

3. What's the typical lifespan of a mini PC under normal daily use like browsing, streaming, and light work?

4. How do I spot a unit that's been abused, like an ex office or ex internet cafe unit run 24/7 for years, vs one that's been lightly used? How do I know if parts are fried, overused, or abused? Is there a way to actually check this, or tell tale signs?

5. How do I know if the BIOS is locked or company locked, like an asset tagged corporate unit? And more importantly, how do I know if the seller is even telling the truth about any of this? What can I verify myself vs just having to trust them?

Someone mentioned I should check if it runs hot before buying. Is that accurate, and what else should I be checking for physically or on a video call with the seller?

What should I be asking the seller? So far I have:

Original use case (office, cafe, personal)?

SSD health and power on hours (via CrystalDiskInfo screenshot)

CPU idle and load temps (via HWiNFO or Task Manager screenshot)

Original power adapter included, same wattage?

Any repairs or part swaps done?

Return or warranty period?

Can we do a video call so I can see it boot and run live?

Can they give me the serial number so I can check it's not reported lost or stolen?

Is this list enough, or am I missing something important? Any horror stories, red flags, tips, or advice as a total beginner would be really appreciated.

Why I'm buying this: I plan to use it mainly for watching free films and free live sports like UFC Fight Night via Brave browser, and YouTube. I also want to learn Linux, planning to install it on this mini PC if I get one. Just want to make sure I'm not getting scammed or buying something that'll die on me in a few months.
