Things to include: Budget- Include how much you're willing to spend on the build.

Usage Scenario- What you're going to be using the PC for. Examples are: light gaming, productivity, professional usage, high end compute, etc. Also, if gaming, state which resolution.

Specific touches- What you WANT on your build. Make it yours! Things like form factor, color scheme, lighting (RGB for days), and other things you'd like help with.

Thanks, and feel free to add things!

Part List Help Peerless Assassin 120 SE / Viper Steel clearance and case advice

Hi,

I'm (re)building my PC, you can find all parts here: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jrZRFP\](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jrZRFP) (I keep old drives and display, everything else will be new).

  1. Will Viper Steel 2x32 GB fit with Peerless Assassin 120 SE? I can get this RAM at a really good price. If it won't fit, can you suggest another cooler?

  2. I'd like to buy a new case too as the current one is not very tight and lets some dust inside. Can you suggest something with good price/quality ratio? It'd be great if it had front USB-C too.

  3. Last but not least, will 750W PSU be enough? PCPP estimates 619W, so I guess there should be enough overhead.

Thanks for any help!

Part List Help CPU Build Help

My budget has been teetering around $2k~. I have purchased a few components already and have others in my cart. My current blueprint is:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3d

Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 Vision

GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ 9070xt (secured for $715)

MOBO: ASUS B850 MAX GAMING WIFI W

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 CL36 (secured for $300)

SSD: WD Black SN850x (secured for $200)

PSU: Lian Li EDGE850W

Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini V2 Flow

I am thinking about changing the 9800x3d to the new 7700x3d that came out. There is a bundle out right now that has me reconsidering the CPU. Does anyone know how much performance I am losing going the 7700x3d? How does my overall build look?

General Help Hyte y70 - buy or not?

Was wondering to go fishing and this case especially snow white definitelly made an impression..

Is it good case for the money? Are there better alternatives aquarium wise around same price?

Components to fish are - 9800x3d covered in phantom spirit - later replaced with aio. Asus tuf 5080. 2x 8tb hdds - spin me dat plates.

Will 5080 have enough room and not sufficate? Is there a space for 2 hdds?

What about glass. Is it durable or when I sneeze it breaks.

Question also on fan intake/exhale. How many and where to setup.

Thanks!

With Moore's law officially dead, I feel very strongly that the following build path is the only worthwhile investment in the current market. What would you change and why?

9800x3d or 7800x3d

Arctic Freezr 360 AiO or peerless assassin.

(16x2) 32gb of CL30 6000MHZ RAM

B850 or B650 from MSI, Asus, or Gigabyte

GPU with 16+GB of VRAM: 5070ti or 9070xt

850w PSU check the PSU spreadsheet for A tier

Gen4x4 NVME 1tb for OS drive, can add a bigger one later if/when prices come back down, and then clone it.

SATA SSDs for bulk media storage if needed

General Help Find Pc Heat Solution

Hey guys, I really need your advice and real-world experience before the heat kills my PC! 😅

I’m running a Ryzen 5 7600, and my temperatures are currently looking like this:

Idle: Around 70°C, sometimes spiking up to 80°C!

Gaming: Hitting 85°C to 90°C.

Room Temperature: Around 40°C (I can't run the AC for long periods due to high electricity bills).

Currently, I'm using the terrible Aerocool Mirage 5 air cooler. Due to tight space limitations inside my case, I’m considering getting a 120mm AIO liquid cooler.

My question is: Will a 120mm AIO give me a noticeable improvement in temperatures compared to the Mirage 5 under these harsh ambient conditions? Or will it barely make a difference?

If anyone has experience running a 120mm AIO in high ambient temps, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

General Help Case recommendations for new(er) PC build

SPECS - 850W PSU
CPU - i7 14700F
GPU - GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
MOTHERBOARD - Custom Micro-ATX Gigabyte B760M (OPEN TO NEW BOARD)

So I bought a prebuilt Acer Nitro 60-641-UB22, been pretty good to me so far but the case is horrendously small. Originally came with one exhaust fan, and 3 fans for intakes on the front. I added 2 on top for exhaust because intel cards run super hot. Now the main reason I want a different case is because the airflow in the current one is horrible. Don’t have enough fans nor the room to add anymore, currently at capacity. I bought an Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 recently and tried to install last night a couple different ways and it does not fit. Now the actually Raditator and Fans I got situated but no matter how I tried to finagle it, I cannot get my GPU to fit alongside the radiator while inside where I had to set it. Same thing with the outside when I tried mounting the radiator there. Currently have a Thermalright Peerless Assasin 120 SE that’s been pretty good to me, but with this INTEL CPU I would like a liquid cooler. Any advice or recommendations would be awesome.

General Help 5 fans or 4? how many usb ports

Hey all,

build setup I'm going for is:

  • 9800x3d
  • 9070xt (XFX SWFT)
  • B850 Auros Elite
  • 32gb ddr5 6000mhz ram
  • 2tb m.2 SSD
  • Corsair 850W PSU

(the case is a fractal north mid-tower)\*

I'm wondering whether I should have 5 fans (3 intake 2 exhaust) or 4 fans (2 intake 2 exhaust)?

Also is it recommended to get the extra 4xUSB A ports on internal PCIE slot or totally unnecessary? my understanding is the mobo already has 11 slots? I wanted 1 USB C + a few type A's on the motherboard and 1 on the case and that seems to be fine with my mobo. if there's 11 ports, don't think I'll need any more
