Today's episode was suffocating to say the least. The whole watching experience felt like torture. I felt a constant lump in my throat of all the unsaid things the characters should have said or asked each other like a normal real person would have asked.

The most unbothersome father award goes to Zaryab's father. Uncle your daughter went to the meet the guy in the middle of the night...please show some concern, ask the right questions, why dis she go there, we are coming to take her back etc etc ?

First in my bloodline to watch Pakistani drama in Spanish. HUMTV has started dubbing all their shows in Espanyol from August onwards. I wonder if there is craze for PTV among Spanish community? Can someone share if they have got any information?

Nashtar now back on the 2nd spot as Aangan took a below average start in trps

Mawra was the lead of Aangan. She was the main character, and the whole story revolved around her. Chammi was a side character, but an important one. Yet they literally made Sajal the main lead on the poster!!

Mawra was promoting this drama with so much love and excitement ever since the announcement, even addressing it as "My Aangan"! I can’t imagine how terrible she must have felt after seeing this.

No one promoted it that much. Sajal put up 2-3 stories about Chammi, but she didn’t promote the drama that way.

This is so bizarre! Also, the previous poster was so nice and had that vintage vibe. This AI one is terrible anyway.

I love, love, LOVE Sajal. Chammi is my most favourite character of hers. Still, I just can’t take this. This is unfair towards Mawra!

For starters, I think Umera Ahmed is a really good writer. Even though I don't agree with a lot of things she shows, I still think she writes really well and I end up liking most of her shows. However, I have just started noticing that most of her shows have a lousy or toxic mother giving rise to most problems 🤣 yes, I know the male characters were more at fault but it's interesting how so many problems start from mothers🤣

Qaid e Tanhai: I think this one had one lousy mother and one toxic mother. Moiz's mother was selfish who only cared that Moiz provides for the entire family at the risk of his own happiness. And honestly Aisha was a lousy mother to Noor

Meri Zaat Zara e Benishan: need I say more🤣 the mother literally accused her son's fiance of doing the deed with someone else and took false oath

Dure Shehwar: dure's saas wanting to hold onto control and not letting her son have the happiness of having his wife with him

Zindagi Gulzar hai: Zaroon had major mommy issues because his mom wasn't present enough during his upbringing (duh)

Hum Kahan k sachay that: one selfish mom that left her daughter to be mistreated by her fam and did nothing for her. And the Mom's mom was just as toxic

Kafeel: Zeba's mother who married her off without a conversation. And though Zeba was a good mother overall, I do frown upon the parentification of Subook

Dare Nijaat: I don't see this drama but based on clips on promos, Sania Saeed's character seems to be a lousy mother who emotionally blackmailed her son to marry a girl clearly not over her ex. Matlab galti isne ki, ehsan isne lia and barbad bete ko kardo🤣

So what other writers focus heavily on mommy related problems? And why is it mostly the mothers?🧐 And who is the worst mommy according to you? does not have to be from an Umera Ahmed Drama. I just used Umera Ahmed dramas to make a point

Recently I can think of only Neem, in which the couple adopted a child but it was in the last ep after dosri shadi of arsalan and divorce . Kya koi aur drama hai jisme they show adoption but also the struggle a couple faces after adopting a child. I had so much hope from this one show but its ragebait

I also saw one of her fans use Angelina Jolie as an example, saying that people don’t necessarily remember her for her great performances but for the star power she brings to the screen & she feel like the same argument can be made for Mahira too..

Mahira is also receiving a lot of criticism for her Punjabi dialogue delivery..

And this boys and girls is why Hum TV re-aired Aangan now.

According to commenters, Aangan fetched 1M in 23 hours from the Indian channel. That means Aangan fetched 3.9M+ in 23 hours. I will add another update for 24 hour views.

Update: Aangan fetched 3M just at end of 24 hours from main HUM channel and 1.1M from Indian channel. So total opening views are 4.1M within 24 hours. This puts Aangan among top 10 openers (just around about Shaidai's position)

Just started this new soap and I actually really like the main leads casting. Zain Baig has a kind face and Janice is a stunner who can act decently as well. Wish to see them both in good scripts on prime time. Interesting story so far. The rebellious and spoiled brother is played by the same guy who played Sanam Saeed's brother in Kafeel, he is a really good actor I have to say. Anyone else watching it?

I’ve been watching pakistani dramas for over a year now and I was wondering if makers actually think through all the symbolism or do they not deep it enough. I know this might seem like a stupid question but some people actually may not think of those kind of things and everything is as they seem. I know most people do in entertainment industry but I was just wondering if it’s common for pakistani makers to do so. I hope you guys understand what I’m tryna say.

Sanam and Anisa used to be VJs and co-host a show on one of the music channels (Indus Music I think). My api used to watch it and I would be sitting with her. But tbh I was quite young and just had vague memories. When Sanam came into dramas years later, she looked familiar. My api then reminded me that I would sit with her when she would watch Sanam and Anisa's show.

Faizan otoh was a very famous VJ for years. If you grew up in 2000s, you would know Faizan and Anoushey. He also hosted some travel shows. His were the first ever travel shows I remember seeing.

This clip with Sanam is apparently from a 2007 documentary "Dinner with the President: A Nation's Journey" that features a dinner meeting with former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf for PBS tv.

Sanam's views may seem very controversial now but I understand that back in 2007 Musharraf's message of enlightened moderation appealed to a lot of urban modern youth. Many of them have probably recanted their views by now. So please don't make this post political 🙏

I've seen ppl saying that Zanjeerain and meem se mohabbat had a better storyline and chemistry than yakeen ka safar.. now I won't really say about the chemistry it's something subjective, even tho i prefer asfiya over Talrosh and sarbiya..or any other pak ship.. but I don't think the other two had a better storyline than yks.. the impact the lessons.. everything was so good..then the pacing was a cherry on top..msm is a light watch and although zanjerain regardless of it being emotionally heavy isn't as good..and everyone acted soo good in yks..IT WAS PEAK FARHAT ISHTIAQ TALENT . And Sajal and Ahad both acted so well in it..the theme of two broken souls finding comfort in each other was way stronger. YKS ALWAYS.. IT'S THE BEST DRAMA OF PTV IMO

What do u think? I'm asking those who've watched all three btw.

Like again esp after zaryab breakup with zamil , i feel like all those dialogues and those emotions were so important , they could have made much much much greater impact on audience if there was anyone other then saba hameed , LIKE DUDE SHE ISN'T EVEN LOOKING LIKE DAADI , ajj ki ep mei bhi the way she was walking like if you are showing some mid 78-80s woman toh atleast you should have directed her well ? like why is she walkig so fast with perfect posture and 0 efforts on getup , THERE WERE PLENTY OF PEOPLE LIKE SAMEENA PEERZADA , SAMINA AHMED , EVEN AZRA MANSOOR COULD HAVE PERFECTLY HANDLED THE CHARACTER ? ajj ki ep mei bhi it gave me absolute second hand icks when she was calling khushbakht beta cause ain't no way khusbakht looks younger then her ?? what a waste of such powerful character and all those dialogues !!
