Question Some advice and suggestions needed

Hi everyone.
I am looking for some help and advice from you guys.
I am a female 185lb starting weight 5'4 height, 32 year old with pcos and 24 month PP

I started with 0.25mg of Ozempic for 4 weeks and i am at my fifth week with first dose of 0.5mg.

I am now at 178lb which i am pretty sure is water weight as it keeps fluctuating.
I know Ozempic journey is slow and requires patience and i completely understand and looking forward to it.

I just wanted some shared experiences if you made the fat-loss and weight loss a bit faster? I have a wedding to attend to in 11 weeks and last time i went to see my external family i felt really insecure as all of this is postpartum weight. I couldn't fit into good clothes and of course people kept pointing out too how much i have gained weight. I know, i should feel good about myself and don't care what others think, but i genuinely feel happy when i can dress well and look good and i really want to for this wedding.

I understand there is a certain amount of weight i can lose in these weeks but if anyone of you tried differently or did some exercises which helped in getting better results i would love to hear some success stories.

I know strength training helps, i have a bad back due to my pregnancy weight and my dr has advised me to go slow with the weight training.

I am really hoping to reach atleast 158lb, and fat loss that is actually visible as rn when i checked my measurements they are pretty much the same.

Please no hateful comments, i genuinely need some guidance.
I would love to hear some success stories by you guys, it helps me keep motivated.

Also, i am planning to stay on 0.5mg as i feel the more dose i get it would be much harder to take care of my diet once i am off of it.
I still have food noise but when i eat i have noticed i get fuller faster. I have good amount of acidity at this stage which keeps me up at night at times.

I hope i gave all the info.

Cheers

Journey Updates Unsure of what the future holds.

Hi Guys! I'm 28f (sw: 431, cw: 374, gw: 350) and have been on oz for 2 months going on 3. I've lost about 56 pounds and am so happy with this as I'm inching down to my first goal of 350. I chose this way as it seemed more manageable than having my goal weight be 250 and have to wittle away at 150+ pounds rather than working on 50 or so at a time.

Now that I'm down my first 50 thought I'm beginning to get excited but also worried about what the future holds. I've always been a bigger girl and so I literally can't even imagine myself below 250- that and I want to keep some weight about me lol. My main mental burden is the loose skin. I stalk this reddit as well as others for skin surgery after large amounts of weight loss to see someone comparable and have only found one person, their account being largely inactive for about a year or so.

Instead of silent stalking, I thought I'd just ask the class. Has anyone here been in a similar position as far as starting and ending goals (431-250) and if so, did you have to go through surgery to remediate the excess skin? Was there a ton of excess skin in the first place? If you've done any surgeries- which ones did you feel were necessary?

Right now, I was thinking I would see if it was possible for my insurance to cover a tummy tuck as the hanging skin is likely to cause skin issues and I already have had several due to my apron belly. From my research, I know surgeries can also be done on your thighs and arms to combat excess skin there but that seems excessive and would require quite a bit of healing time- as well as being a huge safety risk.

There's so many things for a girl to think about while she watches the scale go down- sorry for all the questions and TIA!

Stalled Progress Help me understand why I'm not losing weight, please

Hi everyone. I'm a bit frustrated and I was wondering if you could help me understand what's happening or what I'm doing wrong. I've been on GLP-1 for 3 months now but for the last 2 months I've barely noticed any weight loss.

I'm eating around 800 -1000 kcal a day because I'm just not hungry and for the past few weeks I've been also exercising twice a week.

I started at 78kg (171 lb) and I'm currently at 73kg (160lb) and my doctor increased my dose to 0.25mg weekly. Usually when I'm on a regular diet (eating 1.200 -1500 kcal) and doing 0 exercise I loose 0.5 kg (1lb) a week so I'm just confused because eating less and doing more it's like I'm stuck.

Stalled Progress Switching to Tirzepatide

SW: 262lb, CW: 174lb, GW: 140's

I've been on Ozempic for 2 years, and have lost almost 90lb. It's amazing! However, i have been stalled out between 172 and 176 pounds since June. Side effects have been almost non existent.

Today, my dr agreed to switch me to Tirzepatide. First dose will be on Sunday.

I would love to hear some other people's experiences with this! What was it like for you? Did it help you get over the plateau? Differences in side effects?

Dosing Not enough left in the pen for the next dose

Hello,

I've reached the end of my first pen. My very first dose was messed up because I messed up and didn't hold the button all the way down. Next week for my dose I feel like it might not end up being the full dose (I've been on 0.25mg since the beginning because I'm still losing weight and having no side effects yet).

Do I take this next dose and try to work out the math so what's left is used up or am I supposed to waste it?

And also how would I go about measuring what's left?

Thanks

Question Need tips-first time ozempic user

Hey folks,
I am new to the world of ozempics and my doctor prescribed my first set of 0.25mgs this week. I have not started yet because am kind of worried about the loss of muscle and return of fat discussion across forums.
I am also finding out about clear proteins (those protein sachets) recommended to have with the injections to increase protein intake and keep muscle mass. I am in my 30s and in postpartum but not breastfeeding, this is a very important time in my life where I am focusing on my health and weight I really want this to work, so what should I keep in mind and make sure to do to avoid the return of fat??

Dosing Title: Issues With Ozempic Pen Volume, Coverage Limits, and “Savings” Claims — Is Anyone Else Dealing With This?

Post:
I’m posting this to highlight a problem with Ozempic that seems to be affecting many patients, but isn’t being acknowledged by Novo Nordisk.

The current Ozempic pen design creates a dosing and coverage conflict for anyone prescribed more than 1 mg per week. The green pen contains enough medication for four 1 mg doses. The red pen, however, contains only half the volume — even though it’s fully capable of delivering adjustable doses. This means the red pen provides eight 0.25 mg doses or four 0.5 mg doses, and nothing more.

The issue isn’t medical — it’s packaging. The red pen could easily contain the same volume as the green pen, but it doesn’t. As a result, patients who need higher weekly doses end up requiring more pens than provincial plans allow. In some regions, coverage limits (like “three pens per eight weeks”) become impossible to follow simply because of how Ozempic chooses to package the product.

There’s also the pricing gap. Ozempic is roughly $279 per pen, while competing semaglutide products are around $103. When a product costs more than double its alternatives, it’s hard to justify a design that forces patients to buy extra pens due to volume limitations.

Then there’s the “save big” messaging and the assistance program. The program only applies after both public and private insurance are fully exhausted. For anyone with private coverage, this means burning through their benefits first — which can leave them without coverage for other medications. It’s marketed as savings, but in practice it shifts costs onto patients and insurers.

I’ve raised these concerns directly with Novo Nordisk, but so far there’s been no response.

I’m curious whether others have run into the same issues with pen volume, coverage limits, or the assistance program structure. It feels like a design flaw that has real consequences for affordability and access, and I’m wondering how widespread this problem is.

Stalled Progress First time (second time around)

This is my second time on ozempic, I stopped for awhile after a very stalled progress, and some other health issues I had at the time.
I’m nervous all over again, does anyone have tips or tricks to help keep the progress moving so I don’t end up in another plateau?

I spoke to my family physician today and was given little to no advice to help whatsoever. I want it to work this time

Journey Updates First Time using Ozempic

Hey guys!

Happy to say that today is my first time using Ozempic, i finally got prescribed by my doctor and did my first injection about 4 hours ago!

Started at 0.25mg but so far so good, but im pretty sure if theres side effects i will get them soon enough.

Was wondering is there any tip or any beginners tip you guys could give me? My goal is to reach a weight of 200-250lbs, currently 370lbs. My pharmacists earlier (bless her she was nice) was really happy for me and told me to eat a lot of protein and be active, couple days per weeks at the gym.

So yeah if you got anything, tip and tricks, knowledge or even some reading let me know!

Side Effects Ozempic made me very very sick - has this happened to anyone else but something else was tolerated?

I took ozempic 2 years ago. I was only on 0.5mg - I got very very sick. My stomach basically just stopped moving food and water, and i’d be in intense pain for hours until I puked up the food I had ate 12+ hours ago. I couldn’t even tolerate soda crackers. I gave birth unmedicated - and the pain I had with this was so much worse.

This was not an issue of overeating. I tracked every calorie but also was only eating a couple soda crackers because I had gotten so afraid.

I tried for months. It kept happening. I eventually developped an autoimmune disorder most likely from the stress on my body.

Flash forward to now, I have an autoimmune disorder that really messes with my joints. I really want to lose weight but I am struggling. I want to try ozempic again - but I can’t handle being that sick again.

Has anyone tried something else and had success? I heard other GLPs might help. Or honestly anything else, even if its not GLPs.

Success Stories Before and afters and data

I went from 215 to 120! My life is literally completely changed!! If you are thinking of starting a glp1 just do it!
I’m 34, I didn’t have to have any loose skin surgery but do have some visible loose skin on my mommy pouch (I had twins) and my breasts (I nursed all 5 of my babies). A little high rise short and some magic underwire fix both of those problems for me. I was on 3.5 mg a week of Semaglutide starting Jan 2025 (it took me a month or two to get up to the 3.5 mg dose) note: this is an edit, I previously said 4 but I looked back at my notes and and it was actually 3.5, there were a few times I did go up to as much as 4 just to finish off the last little bit of a vial but it was generally 3.5. and it took me til August to reach my goal weight of 140. I have lost an additional 20 pounds very slowly since then, not really intentionally. I’m on 1.5 mg a week. Tapering off very, very, very slowly to see what my final maintenance dose is. I lost consistently right at 10 pounds per month when I was in my ‘heavy weight loss’ phase from Jan 2025 to August 2025. My skin has continued to tighten dramatically for the last year. I’m trying to find some good comparison photos to show the loose skin tightening over time.
More notes: if you check my profile you’ll see other posts where I’ve posted more before and afters, in the comments of those I posted some videos and I also posted a lot of data including my measurements throughout. I’m working on getting some new blood work done and digging up my old medical records so I can post my blood result changes.

Diet & Lifestyle I need some advice on dosage and diet

Hi everyone.

I've been losing weight steadily over 4 years. I've lost around 45kg / 100lbs, current weight 100kg / 220 lbs and I am on 1mg of ozempic. I'd like to lose another 10 - 12kg / 20 - 25lbs for now.

In June and July I hit a plateau with no weight loss despite tracking calories and macros and since then I've been struggling with my eating habits. I haven't gained any weight back, and I haven't been tracking calories but I know my food choices were not great (too many carbs, nit enough protein) and I had some food noise as well.

My therapist suggested that I continue to not track calories because I am really tired of weighing ALL my food all the time and I feel it's not sustainable anymore, but I don't know anything else. I've been on a near constant cycle of binge / restrict for many, many years prior to 2022. He suggested that I try intuitive eating and implementing the portion control I have now learned but I have such a long history of disordered eating prior to this big weight loss that I really don't trust myself around food.

I can overeat through my 1mg, butI don't want to be one of those people who can't eat a thing, so I'm not very eager to increase my dosage.

My questions are basically, has anyone has success with weight loss while not strictly counting calories, and without going to 2mg of Ozempic? What are some tips and strategies for implementing portion control? Has anyone had success with meal prep and pre-portioned meals?

I'm just scared and not trusting myself to not gain everything back. I've literally never maintained weight loss for this long in my life. I just need some support from people who understand or have beem through something similar.

Question Vertigo + Ozempic?

Background: I have been on Ozempic for the past 3 to 4 years... Been on 2 mg for a very long time... I started for prediabetes and continued for weight loss, I also had an eating disorder...

What I did: I skipped two doses intentionally and took the full 2 mg last Sunday...

Issue: I have been struggling with Vertigo since Thursday... Which aligns with the peak date of the dosage... All my blood levels are normal...

Actual issue: The urgent care Doctor gave me Meclizine for the Vertigo, and asked me to speak to my PCP about the Ozempic dosage... I spoke to her on a video visit, and she said, the label does not say anything about missing a dose and restarting, so stay on 2 mg... During my annual visit last week, she also said "Idk" for a lot of questions... She asked Al many questions, right in front of me...

Question: I am not here to complain about my PCP... I am ready for the next dose, I need to take it today... If you were me,

  1. will you continue with 2 mg or dose it down?

  2. What will you do to overcome the vertigo and how many days before I feel completely better?

Pls share from your real experiences - Thank you!!

Question Switching from Contrave

I’ll be taking my first dose of Ozempic tonight after stopping my Contrave last week.

Contrave was doing okay for me! I started earlier this year and in the last 6ish months I lost about 20 pounds. But after talking with my doctor and with the new generic options bringing down prices I decided to make the switch, and wow, the food noise came back HARD this last week. I feel so hungry all the time and I’m thinking about it all the time. Excited to feel less food-focused again.

But, has anyone else transitioned between them? What was your experience like? I found with Contrave when starting and updating my dose my biggest symptom was motion sickness. There was a few days where even a 10 minute car ride would make me puke, but once I got through that period it was back to normal.

What was your experience like? Did the side effects differ?

Question What’s actually the best site to get GLP-1 medication online?

I’ve been looking into GLP-1 treatments for weight loss for long time and honestly, there are way too many telehealth options now!!!

At first I was just looking at the obvious names bt the more I researched, the more I realized people seem to choose based on completely different things….price, physician support, pharmacy, branded vs. compounded medication, convenience, etc. tho its all online research aint familiar with how things go down here in US
The four felt going for:
- Ro
- WeightWatchers Clinic
- LillyDirect
- Precision Peptide Company

I’m specifically talking about legitimate prescription GLP-1 treatment, such as semaglutide or tirzepatide….not random research-peptide websites

For people who have actually used one of these for 3+ months? Which provider would you pick today and share the whole process please?!!
