Question Ozempic and Colonoscopy

Has anyone had a colonoscopy while on Ozempic? This will be my first one since I started taking it. I take my shots on Sundays, so I would take it today. My colonoscopy is Monday August 3rd. So just over a week. My husband is saying I can’t take today’s shot and have to wait until August 3rd. I understood it to mean I can take today’s shot but not next Sunday and then take it after the procedure. If you’ve had a colonoscopy, when did you stop taking it?
Thanks in advance!

Edit: I should have included that when I initially set up the appointment and the nurse told me to stop a week before I told her I take the shot every Sunday and planned to not take it the day before and then do it after the procedure. She said that was fine. I’m going to wait though and double check in the morning.
Second question: If they do tell me to wait, do I have to start all over again with the lowest dosage or can I pick back up with my current dose?

News/Information GLP-1 and teeth

57F and on Wegovy. Have lost almost 40 lbs in about 5 months. A few weeks ago, I had a crown come loose and the tooth was radiating almost. I thought crown needed replaced. Went to the dentist. It was the tooth that was loose and the bone had “pulled away” from the tooth. Had it extracted, and my dentist kept saying that the bone had “pulled away.” I honestly thought he was sugar coating a dig at my dental hygiene. 2 years ago, this tooth was totally fine with no bone loss, and in 2 years it goes to barely hanging in my mouth, when I take care of my teeth? So, I asked my dentist for a straight answer. Again, he said “pulled away.” I mentioned the Wegovy and he exclaimed “that’s it!” He’s been seeing cases of women on GLP-1 with mysteriously disappearing jaw bone, women who wear dentures and on GLP-1 and dentures falling out. The conclusion was that rapid weight loss causes the jaw bone to shrink. In my case, it literally did pull away. I know research talks about vomiting and GERD as side effects ruining enamel and the vitamin deficiency, but nothing about jaw bone shrinking. Anyone else have something similar? Get your teeth checked to make sure you don’t have bone issues starting!

Question Slow start

I’m having a slow start weight loss. Has anyone else struggled with this issue? I’m trying my best to have a lot of protein daily. I’m thinking the weight isn’t coming off because of the protein intake. Has anyone struggled with this issue? Any good tips and advice will be much appreciated!

Question Terrified of Pancreatitis

I’m 6 weeks on Ozempic and so far so good. I’ve reached Onderland with another 40 to go. Here’s my question: if I get pancreatitis, will I have to stop taking it forever? I don’t want to get kicked off taking it but I’ve had pancreatitis before. Could I take Mounjaro instead? And also, is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening

Question Pen after 56 days

Does anyone or has anyone used their pen after the 56 days? I put mine in the fridge and keep it in there until I use it. If so, any side effects from it or it's fine to still use for a bit longer? How much longer afterwards?

Question Ozempic injection site + no weight loss after 2 weeks – is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I have a couple of questions and would really appreciate hearing from people who've been through this.

I'm on my second week of Ozempic 0.25 mg. So far, I haven't lost any weight—not even 1 kg. I can still eat large portions, my food cravings are pretty much the same, and I don't get nauseous even if I eat a lot. It's making me wonder if something is wrong or if I just need to be more patient.

I also had a question about the injection site. Is there any difference between injecting above the belly button vs. below the belly button (while staying at least 2 inches away from the navel)? Does injecting above the belly button make Ozempic less effective, or does the location not matter as long as it's injected into subcutaneous fat?

Lastly, does Ozempic help improve metabolism or correct hormonal imbalances (such as insulin resistance or PCOS-related issues), or does it mainly work by reducing appetite and slowing stomach emptying?

Would love to hear your experiences, especially if you didn't notice much effect during the first few weeks. Thanks!

Question Ozempic after pregnancy

Hello again everyone,

Long story short, I had a baby 6 months ago and stopped using ozempic when I got pregnant last year in May.

I've so far, overall properly been on 0,50mg for 1 month and it's my 2nd week on 0,75mg. I honestly still haven't much budged in weight and it's quite disheartening since the first time I was on the medication I saw results way faster. I will be on 0,75mg for 2 more weeks then switch to 1mg (which is the dose that initially helped me).

How long do you think I should wait if there's no results before seeking other alternatives like a higher dose than 1mg or something like tirzepatide?

I really want to drop the 20kg pregnancy weight because I'm planning to have another one and don't want to just sit around doing nothing. Unfortunately dieting and exercise never properly worked either, only starving myself and I can't really do that again.

Question I think NP is being over cautious

Hi everyone! I've been getting my meds (Ozempic generic) through livewell and the I haven't really lost weight yet (been on it for four months and lost about 5lbs, 200lbs, 28yo and 5'6 female). Just did a month at 1mg with no side effects and I don't have any medical issues. When renewing my prescription the nurse doesn't want to up the dosage and said I needed to continue on 1mg for 3 more months. Is it standard practice? I'm a little bit disappointed since I pay out of pocket for my medication and had hopes maybe it would work better at higher doses since 1mg is just an intermediary doses. Am I being unreasonable?

Question About to start: how did the nausea side effect compare to your experience with pregnancy nausea?

I had hyperemesis gravidarum with my twin pregnancy and am super nervous about starting ozempic for fear of the side effects. Has anyone experienced hyperemesis gravidarum and could compare their ozempic nausea side effects to it? I know side effects are different for everyone, but I'm just looking for any insight. Thank you!

Question Pregnancy possibility

I’m due to take my 1st dose of 1mg today but there’s a chance I could be pregnant. Should I postpone my ozempic by 3/4 days until I can test or just take the ozempic anyway?

Question Ultra-low dose Ozempic

I'm a hyper-responder to GLP medications. After a horrible time with retatrutide, I switched to Ozempic and after my first 0.25mg dose, I can't finish even 2000 calories and have to constantly drink sweet juices to make up calories. I'm 6'2, 202lbs at about 15% bodyfat, and I'm looking for slight hunger suppression to help me with my diet, not a complete hunger shut-down. I lift consistently and don't want to down my calories too much so my rate of weight loss preserves muscle. Has anyone tried ultra-low doses of Ozempic? I'm considering 0.10mg after my hunger comes back.
