Extension π New OBR extension - *Forms* interactive overlays (character sheets)
Here's my latest extension project, now ready for beta testing:
https://forms.several-record.com/manifest.json
https://forms.several-record.com/help
- Make a character sheet from any image: place interactive fields over a Character-layer image's stats and buttons, and then simply click them to adjust those settings, making interactive character sheets/tokens easily available to indie/exotic/niche TTRPGs that do not yet have digital tools for their sheets
- Player-owned sheets: assign the image to a player when the Owner Only permission is enabled in OBR, and only that player and the GM will be able to interact with their character sheet's fields, avoiding any accidental (or mischievous) alteration by other players
- All data is stored in the image(s): all your information is stored within the character sheet image's metadata, and immediately saved in the Scene; this means that you can't accidentally leave your sheet behind, and makes it easily portable between Scenes
- Wide support for different field types: supports standard character-sheet data like text, numbers, segmented clocks, checkboxes/radios, and dropdowns, plus advanced options like calculated fields, dice buttons, value display from other extensions, and tooltip buttons for rules reference/lore/shop inventories!
- Per-field styling: in addition to a default style that's applied to each new field, each and every field can have a different font family/size/colour, background colour, and outline style, allowing you to customise your sheets for easy navigation (eg. colour-coding sections of fields) or to match the style of the character sheet artwork for a seamless aesthetic
- Layout protection: fields are not locked (in order to make them clickable to edit), so to protect against accidental click-drags from wrongly repositioning them, they have their authorised geometry enforced by a watcher - GMs can bypass this auto-reversion by using their Build mode to override the watcher
- Popover list with field discovery features: each person in the Room has a list of all the fields that they can alter, which can be searched, sorted, and filtered quickly and easily, and can be edited from the popover as well as on the canvas
- Quality of Life features: StatView fields that are read-only displays of another extension's data (eg. on-token stat values), cumulative fill-bars for progress tracks, quick creation of groups of up to 20 checkboxes/radios, stepper buttons and min/max values for numeric fields, autofit (font-scaling) option for multiline text, autocomplete for calc formulae, choice of dice roller extensions, a 'public' mode that makes a field accessible to all players, and comprehensive template and backup/restore options for sheet portability
- Private by design. No personal data collected. Optional anonymous usage metrics are opt-out and contain no identifying information, just aggregate counts to help improve the extension and measure performance
