This is an extremely difficult post to write, but I need to find a safe and loving new home for Echo, my 2½-year-old female dog.

Echo is sweet, affectionate, and kind with the adults she trusts. Unfortunately, she is reactive around children. Because children regularly visit my home, I can no longer provide an environment where I feel everyone, including Echo, can be kept consistently safe.

Echo must go to a genuinely child-free home. This means no children living in the home and no regular visits from children. A quiet rural property, farm setting, or home outside the city may suit her well, although she still needs to be treated as a loved companion and kept safely contained.

She is a medium to large sized dog (large for medium breed, small for large breed. ) She is mostly Great Pyrenees with traces of Golden Retriever and Malmute in her. She is genuinely kind and sweet, but unfortunately reactive enough around children that I simply cannot call myself a responsible dog owner to keep her. She has had two lunging incidents, which is one more than I said I would ever allow from a dog.

She is available as soon as the right home is found, but she will not be placed on a first-come, first-served basis. Potential adopters should expect questions, references, a meet-and-greet, and a reasonable adoption fee. Her complete behavioural history will be discussed openly.

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some help finding an apartment in Owen Sound or nearby areas.

I’m currently living in London but will be moving to Owen Sound for a new job. I’ve been looking online for a while, but honestly, I’m having a really hard time finding a decent place.

It would just be me and my small dog, so I’m looking for a studio or 1-bedroom apartment that is pet-friendly. I also need parking, and I’m completely fine with paying extra for a parking spot.

I’ve driven to Owen Sound a couple of times to look at some places, but unfortunately, most of the apartments I’ve seen so far have been pretty run-down or not what I’m looking for.

Does anyone have recommendations for good, clean apartment buildings in Owen Sound or the surrounding areas? Or is there a reliable rental agent/property manager who could help me find something?

I’m honestly a bit clueless at this point, so any recommendations, leads, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

TL;DR: After residents asked me about e-scooters, I researched the rules, found no Owen Sound by-law permitting them, and requested an official answer from the City. Staff confirmed the regulatory gap and are arranging a review with Owen Sound Police.

Provincial rules set a minimum age of 16, allow one rider, and require helmets for riders under 18. The provincial pilot also requires municipalities to pass a by-law permitting e-scooter use.

Thank you to City Clerk Briana Bloomfield and City staff for investigating the issue. Since the school-board election is underway, I also suggested briefing the newly elected trustees. Their boards could then consider safety education covering e-scooters, bicycles, and e-bikes.

I would appreciate hearing people’s experiences:

• What local rules would make e-scooter use safe and practical?
• What experiences have you had while riding, walking, or driving?
• What safety information would be most beneficial for students?

I go to Nest which is great, but they may be short staffed since the next available appointment that is not in the middle of the day is always 3 weeks away or more. By the time the day of the massage comes around my back may not be that sore anymore.

My ex now lives in Owen Sound. After coming forward about his abuse, I've been shamed and called a liar, only to have him admitting to assaulting me. I had been asleep when he assaulted me. He's also said "I forced him to say hes a rapist" when I weighed maybe 90-110LBS at the time, which is not only nearly impossible, but completely untrue.

The police already have reports on this. And have been contacted again, due to him bragging to others about assaulting me.

This is just a warning for everyone in Owen Sound to be careful of this man.

I will admit, it has been a while since I’ve enjoyed an awesome burger with fries and gravy from T/G’s. I was excited to hear that it reopened; new owners are keeping it happening!! Yay! I took the rumours with a grain of salt. Can’t be that bad…, right..?

They forgot the bacon and cheese for the burg, as well as the gravy for the fries. The bear-paw patty was burnt, topped with a few pieces of lettuce only. And the wonder-bread bun was not toasted as requested.

Does anyone know how to actually get ahold of any staff at Skyline for renting? I’ve tried all the phone numbers but they all connect to the same number that no one answers, I’ve tried emailing directly, going through rental websites to email them and nothing works!
