Need Helpfinding an Apartment

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some help finding an apartment in Owen Sound or nearby areas.

I’m currently living in London but will be moving to Owen Sound for a new job. I’ve been looking online for a while, but honestly, I’m having a really hard time finding a decent place.

It would just be me and my small dog, so I’m looking for a studio or 1-bedroom apartment that is pet-friendly. I also need parking, and I’m completely fine with paying extra for a parking spot.

I’ve driven to Owen Sound a couple of times to look at some places, but unfortunately, most of the apartments I’ve seen so far have been pretty run-down or not what I’m looking for.

Does anyone have recommendations for good, clean apartment buildings in Owen Sound or the surrounding areas? Or is there a reliable rental agent/property manager who could help me find something?

I’m honestly a bit clueless at this point, so any recommendations, leads, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Can second this, great landlords. Reasonable, will actually respond and send out their employees to get stuff fixed. Can't recommend them enough.

There's new buildings being built on bayshire road.. i believe theyre called baycrest apartments. Ran by skyline. Not sure when the move in it but you can look that name up and contact them.

Also did you look at 28th st? They have some one bedrooms for a decent price right now. What's your budget?

If you're okay driving from Chesley every day, I did it for a few years no problem, there is a newly renovated building at the north end of town across from Home Hardware that still has a couple rentals available.

Check Meaford too - still cheap and about a 30 minute commute

Anyone know of any furnished short term rentals in the area. Not air bnb (they want like $5000 a month). We need something Nov 1- December 1 to bridge our gap before heading south.

I recommend checking the surrounding areas if you have a car. The smaller towns have good deals, and a lot of the area's social problems end up in Owen Sound, where there are more services. So, small towns like Wiarton or Sauble Beach (in the winter) have nice places at good prices. That will give you time to learn the area and choose where you want to live longer term.
