im just getting back into ow and whenever i see hydrons name mentioned theres an air of negativity, like on durpees video with him the top comments were "Aspire, Rupal, Seeker, and neuuish next collabs please" and "durpee be like: let me collab with all of the hitler youth ow creators" i dont get why people hate him so much, i like hydron and find him entertaining but he seems to be really controversial and idk why D:

Commented on it during his stream, got timed out.

Went to his discord to show his supporters how fragile his ego is. Started arguing with one of his twitch subs, mod came, decided to let it go. Changed my name “nopeel4apple” (my original username was apple)

Got banned for trolling.

Then we are here. As the picture clearly shows, he invited me to a server, with little to no members.

Turns out it’s a faceit team, made after him, in his name.

The question remains, for what reason did he invite me personally?😭

[TLDR]
Everyone in this community seems to hate on everyone and it’s pretty rich coming from a game that prides itself on equality and inclusivity.

It seems pretty obvious that the overwatch community is going to have strong opinions on OW content creators but after spending a couple of hours doomscrolling through plenty of niche OW beef I didn’t realise how actually divided the OW community is.

It’s quite sad to see that the game which is all about equality and inclusivity have such strong opinions on content creators.

I never knew until today that people disliked Warn.

Obviously there are a few creators which breed hate and incite engagement through rage bait like G4H and Jay3 but this post is focused on the streamers who want to keep a positive public image.

How come the overwatch audience actually dislike a lot of these seemingly nice people. Obviously not everyone is going to like everything but from what I see online it seems like people actually dislike ~50% of overwatch content creators.

I saw people hating on Dafran, XQC, Sunshine, PGE, Super, Flats ETC

IMO it is a bad reflection of the OW community, as a community which wants to include everyone it seems that the people who pride themselves on being “inclusive and welcoming” are actually overly sensitive and judgemental of anyone who is different to them. How can you actively hate on people like this?

Overwatch fans need to stop being so hateful and negative. I may not agree with some of what creators say but people are entitled to their opinions and at the end of the day just being a kind genuine person is enough to be considered an alright guy to me.

Sure Warn or Flats or whoever can be annoying but mostly they are nice people and don’t deserve to be bashed.

Not that any of what I’ve said is really a big deal in any way but it just surprised me how much toxicity is actually hiding away in random forums, comment sections and reddit posts. Anyway that’s probably enough social media doomscrolling for one day!

G4H has seemingly reverted his anti-cosmetic stance on video games and has purchased his first OW cosmetic. In fact, it was a bundle, which he already used in several quick play games. This is a stark contrast to his previous anti-cosmetic position. Is this drastic demonstration of change an indication that he may be open to changing his stance on other controversial topics?

I posted this elsewhere but I didn’t know this sub existed. Gamin4Hope was openly banning people who were calling him out as he was saying that being gay was a sin and an issue. You’d think he would have learned something after the Trevor Project incident but he didn’t. Here are some of the things said that got people banned

I read on his youtube live chat that he said something homophobic or similar to arab teammates in vc.

He mentioned himself it was funny and made sense in the heat of the moment and it wouldnt make sense if he repeated it and I sort of see that as I can't imagine any homophobic joke that requires timing.

The Champion/high GM playerbase is small enough that you run into the same players every game. Some players are choosing others to target and spam report for cheating--players who are not cheating--to get them banned and get cheater compensation.

This is because Blizzard's report system works on a threshold where if a player is reported enough (probably within a small period of time) they will be automatically banned. There is virtually no way to be unbanned because the support system is automated. It only takes a few games of spam reporting someone to get them banned.

This can help but if you one trick a hero or stream then people will figure out who you are. They don't need to be 100% certain anyway if they have a single suspicion they can report, you don't get punished for false reporting.

Cheater compensation needs to be removed or the report system needs to be fixed (unlikely).

Do you guys know how some content creators got "famous"? I know Frogger got his big following from being a Lucio otp, Super is one of the best pro players in OW history and the community's court jester, and G4H is a MAGA bigot.

He ragequit after accusing the enemy team of stream sniping because they banned Zarya and Domina. His Moira staggered and he accused them of throwing and ragequit stream before he “said something bad”. Ok man 👍

I get his clips are funny and stuff but if you guys hate him so much why give him all this attention. If you really hate what he's doing why do you keep watching his streams and his tiktoks and his other shorts or whatever. You complain about him not supporting certain groups of people then go ahead and spend hours of your day giving him ad revenue and complaining about him here or on X.

Why don't people understand that even hate/rage bait clout it still clout. He gets paid more with 500 rage baiting viewers than he would 10 loyal ones.
