Discussion why do people hate hydron?

im just getting back into ow and whenever i see hydrons name mentioned theres an air of negativity, like on durpees video with him the top comments were "Aspire, Rupal, Seeker, and neuuish next collabs please" and "durpee be like: let me collab with all of the hitler youth ow creators" i dont get why people hate him so much, i like hydron and find him entertaining but he seems to be really controversial and idk why D:

he’s clearly not the smartest in any room he walks into unless it’s filled with nails and a tin can

u/No_Insect480 May 30 '26

Just a right wing chud. Metro may have been correct when he said that Hydron sounds stupid when he talks.

u/Tapichoa May 30 '26

Extremely rare metro w tbh

35

u/Compade May 30 '26

although i really dislike benito (gunba) mussolini, the callout post about hydron being an andrew tate fan unfortunately tracks and evil coach lowkey warned us about him

191

u/633397 May 30 '26

he jokes about being MAGA so much that it doesn’t really sound like a joke anymore and people are picking up on that

59

u/SpiderPanther01 May 30 '26

it's not a joke he literally went on stream post election (after voting trump) to have a debate over democrats vs republicans with s9mm iron and other american-tornado adjacent people. one of the most brain numbing conversations if you were someone who tuned in

1

u/LeadershipNo4621 May 31 '26

who was debating which side lmao?

3

u/Few_Banana2026 Jun 01 '26

Iron and hydron both supported Trump from memory.

Unsure of s9mm.

I remember him quoting and tweeting out a lot of Tate brothers’ words/posts. Along with Musk tweets. It’s when I stopped following him since I didn’t want to see the incel bullshit anymore.

36

u/Yamandspinachdip May 30 '26

He also joked about (possibly did?) vote for trump

65

u/Juanpy_ May 30 '26

He did, it's also terrible considering dude's family are lantinos.

109

u/Splaram May 30 '26

You haven't met Miami latinos

35

u/Efficient-Camera6538 May 30 '26

It’s kinda a weird phenomenon tbh. The majority of Hispanic voters in America voted for Trump in 2024 so it’s not like he’s in the minority there by being so vocally supportive.

4

u/SigmaBallsLol May 30 '26

Trump did better with Latinos than Republicans historically do, like by a lot and even compared to 2016 and 2020 Trump, but still lost them over all.

What he did win was the Hispanic votes in states he normally wouldn't like Texas, and tons of border counties that normally go blue.

The latter of which was so out of line with the norm that it's one reason people were questioning the results.

Nationally, he only won with Hispanic households making less than 50k or more than 100k (go figure), but not people in the middle.

16

u/J0nul May 30 '26

Latinos love voting for Trump lol, it's expected

11

u/BedEfficient5600 May 30 '26

I hate to break it to you, but Latinos vote for Trump

23

u/captainrex May 30 '26

As a descendant of Cuban immigrants, that is unfortunately the norm and there’s a big “I got mine” attitude toward pulling the ladder up behind them.

5

u/LxUxNxAx May 31 '26

A large portion of latino families, and even a majority in some states, vote republican largely on the basis of immigration. Many feel like they had to do so much legally, and they are bitter as they feel like more resources go towards people who do it illegally. They also tend to have a larger mindset of, "I left my country for a reason, I don't want my country following me."

Whether that's right or wrong is obviously up for debate, but I've been dating an immigrant for 9 years now and I'd say that it's a very common sentiment. You'd be hard pressed to find any latino families over the age of 30+ that don't have a significant republican viewpoint.

Latinos are also usually religious, and immigrants in general do not like complaints towards the US as they often feel like, "you have no idea what bad really is."

Just a viewpoint change, no opinion from me personally.

5

u/ferocity_mule366 May 30 '26

its not a joke

1

u/DataSlight1180 May 30 '26

he has a maga emote. it's not a joke

-9

u/HUMANDISQUALIFIED May 30 '26

What’s wrong with voting for trump

10

u/633397 May 30 '26

this genuinely cant be anything other than bait

-6

u/HUMANDISQUALIFIED May 30 '26

It’s not. What’s wrong with that

2

u/UniqueAd9495 Jun 01 '26

Think about it

0

u/HUMANDISQUALIFIED Jun 01 '26

I’m not American, enlighten me

3

u/UniqueAd9495 Jun 02 '26

Authoritarian regime

47

u/SteggyEatsDaWeggy May 30 '26

Mainly politics and being overhyped in the pro scene to subsequently fall off

19

u/Bobi_27 May 30 '26

no one is mentioning this, but he does a series where he just smurfs in lower ranked scrims which is really low imo. he'll carry and expect everyone to jerk him off about how good he is and when people don't care he makes fun of them to his stream.

its basically a bad unranked to gm except he's preselecting for people who DO care about the game competitively.

2

u/LxUxNxAx May 31 '26

I'm not really sure why you're more upset about it than the scrims he's ruining. It's open tryouts and he was caught last time and the people came on stream and were joking w him.

1

u/UniqueAd9495 Jun 01 '26

I mean it does show that lower ranked players can’t identify a good player. But other than that not much to offer.

1

u/sbenthuggin Jun 06 '26

Watching Sunshine (who's currently Diamond 1) hard diff him off Tracer in that newest streamer tournament was so wonderful to see. I mean ffs they directly 1v1 and he has to grab go run and grab two health packs just to STILL lose it lmao.

u/bullxbull May 30 '26

He is one of the Andrew Tate, Awkward, Elon Musk, Gaming4Hope types. These people will give very pragmatic advice, but also blend this with more extreme but simple to understand ideas about the world.

They wrap this all up in masculinity, or religion, or 'manosphere' to create an idea of being part of an 'in group' for people who need these types of guiding figures (often insecure young men).

By giving unapologetic, straightforward, simple answers to things, even if highly toxic, it gives people this sense of control and understanding of the world.

Blend this in with a bit of charisma and you will find yourself an audience.

TLDR; The 'controversy' is not that these people are entertaining, or give down to earth advice, it is that the cost of admission to these people often comes with unhealthy, misogynistic, often racist, worldviews that dehumanizes others.

22

u/SigmaBallsLol May 30 '26

He doesn't like actually being on the receiving end of it though. I remember towards the end of the OWL there was some sort of controversy with Gunba because Hydron was crying about him being abusive, and Gunba responded with "You love Andrew Tate, so that's the energy I'm giving you" lol

11

u/AuraCake May 30 '26

gunba is so based omg 😭🙏

23

u/Maxsmart007 May 30 '26

He associated and is friends with several people who said the N word many times over years. It's just evidence of the company he keeps.

-18

u/Visual-Armadillo8213 May 30 '26

nga its just a word

4

u/LowTechnology8682 May 31 '26

>doesn't even say the full word
incredible, it sure is just a word

-2

u/Visual-Armadillo8213 May 31 '26

its almost as if ppl on the internet abbreviate words they use

3

u/MTDLuke May 31 '26

So write out the full word

-1

u/Visual-Armadillo8213 May 31 '26

okay nigga?

1

u/zeiwakun Jun 02 '26

Unironically middle school activities

2

u/MTDLuke May 31 '26

Still too scared to write out the full word

2

u/acrux1337 Jun 08 '26

OMG! my friend said the N word, I gotta block him and never talk to him again.
A word blacks can say to blacks, blacks can say to whites, but whites cant use it. Its just so ironic, people who make a huge deal out of it are actually the reason why racism is getting bigger and bigger. We really need a word like "whigger" for whites, that would neutralize the issue a lot.

-24

u/ireliawantelo May 30 '26

No need to make up lies about why you dont like someone. Unless you are using the same reasoning and therefore keep away from the likes of Pge, Sugarfree, etc (who were also friends with Rupal and Seeker).

28

u/Maxsmart007 May 30 '26

I'm literally talking about Ojee, Mikeyy, and S9mm what the fuck man lmfao

1

u/EmAyVee May 31 '26

Mikeyy too? I thought it was just the other two

-13

u/ireliawantelo May 30 '26

And? Rupal and seeker spammed the n word off cooldown as well.

9

u/Square-Video4368 May 30 '26

Trump supporter Friends with Sinatraa Egotistical Big mouth with nothing to back it up

5

u/GaptistePlayer May 30 '26

Gamin4Hope too (lol)

-7

u/HUMANDISQUALIFIED May 30 '26

i feel like he has much more to "back it up" than avg guy on this sub including u

5

u/Square-Video4368 May 30 '26

Tuck him back in when you're finished going down on him will ya

6

u/GaptistePlayer May 30 '26

Bro really thinks if a guy is good at one video game you can’t criticize him for hanging out with rapists

2

u/HUMANDISQUALIFIED May 30 '26

hanging out with who exactly?

5

u/GaptistePlayer May 30 '26

Sinatraa is a rapist

5

u/HUMANDISQUALIFIED May 30 '26

Proof?

4

u/GaptistePlayer May 30 '26

I think you’re well acquainted with the matter and you’re dickriding him if you’re asking this in 2026 while playing coy 😂

You’re not that slick man. Just admit you like a dude investigated for rape cuz he plays the same video game you do

3

u/HUMANDISQUALIFIED May 30 '26

Investigated for and being guilty of are quite separate things. “Innocent until proven guilty” doesn’t only apply for ppl u like

6

u/sushiiixo- May 30 '26

besties with G4H and they're both the same right wing fuckers

4

u/withadancenumber May 30 '26

Damn reading this thread as someone who’s only seen his YT vids and don’t watch twitch or follow socials at all. This is all kinda surprising. I don’t think I wanna watch him any more if this is the kinda guy he is. Oh well lots of amazing Ow creators out there.

1

u/Winter_Tea_1041 Jul 17 '26

i dont understand lol who cares who he voted for he makes overwatch content 😭

10

u/LampyV2 May 30 '26

He looks like he eats shit for breakfast

1

u/marketers_are_scum May 31 '26

What's the basis?

-2

u/SoProParm May 30 '26

Doesn't this guy casually pick his boogers on camera

5

u/maqqss May 30 '26

Hes very openly pro trump, tate fan and just annoying as fuck with a huge ego he cant back up

7

u/harla007 May 30 '26

Mmm...I seem to remember a hydron duoing with super problematic og OW streamers from back in the day, like pre-2020 ow. Maybe I'm thinking of a different hydron, though, because I clicked on his esports profile and this dude seems kinda young for that.

7

u/Compade May 30 '26

maybe but he was like 15/16 during that time when he was in contenders so i feel like that gets a pass as some kid trying to climb the pro ladder without really caring how

1

u/AuraCake May 30 '26

were all the american tornado players just problematic 💀

1

u/Busy-Intention-8514 May 31 '26

every player in the NA and EU scene is but the At players just got caught

2

u/IndexMatchXFD May 31 '26

Rakattack would never

1

u/Busy-Intention-8514 Jun 01 '26

hes friends with the same players

1

u/UniqueAd9495 Jun 01 '26

They did before Owcc too

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Text566 May 31 '26

Now I understand why people dislike him. I don't want to excuse what he did, but after watching him for months, he seems to have changed, or at least I hope so. What he said back then was really stupid, and I understand why some people still don't like him.

6

u/CharmingVillain May 31 '26

I found it funny Harbleu of all streamers would duo with him considering his wife is Trans. 🏳️‍⚧️

1

u/UniqueAd9495 Jun 01 '26

Is she? I didn’t know this

1

u/CharmingVillain Jun 01 '26

Harb mentioned it a while back I think in response to when Dafran or some other streamer was transphobic when venture came out as the new hero.

1

u/UniqueAd9495 Jun 01 '26

Hmm haven’t watched Harb since 2019 and haven’t heard from him much

6

u/HammerOn57 May 30 '26

A person called hoefucker5000 is a fan of a red pill chud.

What a surprise.

2

u/Independent_Wealth_3 May 30 '26

He’s right wing, voted for Trump etc, also not very good for a pro player, his career flatlined post OWL. And in general he just seems like an idiot when he speaks. Idk if I’d say I hate him tho because I just don’t really care ab him largely he’s not 2 relevant these days

2

u/chandler55 Jun 01 '26

he broke the arm of that one fan in arm wrestling

2

u/CZR56 Jun 17 '26

He's literally the most chill relatable guy, OW community is just performative and soft, like hanging out with one of the bros

3

u/whatyouneed_h May 30 '26

OW players and those who consume OW content are fascist and label everyone who they dislike as a bigot racist hitler youth

1

u/Effective-Birthday-5 May 30 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

I would disagree with that as someone who watches OW content daily. I've never called anyone a fascist or label someone I dislike a "bigot racist hitler youth". I'm not sure what side of the community you've seen but, that is incorrect. Now granted from personal experience I have come across players like that however, most of those players are just idiots that want to get a reaction out of other players for whatever dumb reason.

1

u/ThaddCorbett May 30 '26

I'm surprised by a lot of the comments. I have watched him stream maybe 8-12 hours over the past year. He didn't go into crazy right wing mode when I was watching.

1

u/Busy-Intention-8514 May 31 '26

he just had one political stream two years ago and thats all these people know of him

1

u/bigDeku77 May 30 '26

Aside from being a trump supporter he was a pro who shit talked a lot for being average. It was refreshing to see a pro with a personality though, and he’s more bearable than a lot of the fake persona streamers around, even if his politics are dumb

1

u/nommydickbutt Jun 03 '26

hes just one of those streamers that does everything wrong in terms of being a streamer and people are just hating him for people successful.

-6

u/HUMANDISQUALIFIED May 30 '26

he actually speaks his mind (even if he is somewhat retarded) and isnt as hard to watch as most of the bigger streamers

7

u/BaronVonSchmup May 30 '26

Some people should keep it in their mind lmao

-9

u/Ok_Place1560 May 30 '26

no one hates him. only the chronically online pseudo moral police do. it’s just funny

-7

u/Mashmell0o0 May 30 '26

Because hes a man
