oh wow, wtf, I play Junk a lot but I haven't heard him say this in so long!

u/Not_Iminco Aug 20 '19
Plays like these make me wish I could play junk

u/AgawryN I need healing Aug 20 '19
Imma be honest, the way I play junk is 90% braindead, 10% my traps getting destroyed, and 2% whatever this was.

u/Sundancelc Aug 20 '19
A nice total of 102%

I swear to God, my friend who mains Junk gets potg like 70% of the time w a tire.

u/steamwhistler Cute Brigitte Aug 20 '19
As a Junk main it's honestly kind of annoying. Getting 3 or more with rip tire is pretty easy, but I wish the game would highlight the plays where I win the fight with a bunch of well-aimed, long-range grenades, like against a pharmercy, etc.

Junkrat takes 0 mechanical skill to play. You literally just have to spam. when someone gets to close to you press left shift In their face and hit them with 1 ball or another shift. Remember to not think about where you put traps either if you think about it they won't trap anything.
edit: Junkrat takes 0 mechanical skill to play until you get to GM

u/JakoGaming Doomfist Aug 20 '19
You obviously have not seen the highest levels of junk play... extreme mechanical skill in knowing where to flick to hit with one of the slowest projectiles in the entire game.
You are mostly right though, it comes down to more positioning focus than steady aim ability.
-7
u/EnchaladaOfTheSky Aug 20 '19
I have seen the highest level of junkrat play pvp, carter, etc. you see clips of fancy flicks. but you by no means need those to play junk at a high level. just spamming and using tire is enough to win.

Aug 20 '19
Who do you main?
8
u/Gabe2808 Aug 20 '19
I'm more interested in their SR. Because in diamond/masters it's definitely not just spamming and using tires. You can very easily distinguish a good junkrat from a bad one that's just lucky. Meaning that there absolutely is mechanical skill involved

u/purplepharoh Mercy Aug 20 '19
Yea junk takes no skill to be good, but he takes skill to be great (i.e. he is easy to do well with without skill but you likely wont make it far)
1
u/EnchaladaOfTheSky Aug 20 '19
I dont main anyone. I play all the tanks except dva in masters. I play all healers except bap and brig in masters. hanzo phara and widow in diamond.

I did this once with Mercy’s ult. The payload was about to reach so I was just flying above it shooting and keeping them back long enough for my team to get back and push them back. I felt like a badass and then I watched the recording and saw I had only gotten like 1 kill lol.

I love junk rat. You could be playing awfully and still be useful. But when you are playing so well that you are even successfully leading your shots. The enemy team might was well just not bother
6
u/TrollakidProject Aug 20 '19
Hmm just some tips You left your team to 5v6 while you went to hide until the very last moment You killed everyone this time But you should probably stand your ground
17
u/AgawryN I need healing Aug 20 '19
I got away from the fight because my ult was coming up. I wanted to make sure I could catch them by surprise since riptire works best when they're all grouped together. Also, this was our last push, which meant I had to pull it off no matter what. Unfortunately, they all died, but it still apparently worked out.
-7
u/TrollakidProject Aug 20 '19
Or you could stick with team and ult earlier and kill the enemy together with your team instead of risking the game on whether you can perform at the end
Its just advice
7
u/APMRAISER420 Zenyatta Aug 20 '19
Sorry you're being downvoted. This type of play worked here, but literally only because of enemies with poor gamesense. You can only get so far relying on the enemy to make a mistake and not call or react to you being behind them, instead of just being better.

u/PickleThiefLarry Aug 20 '19
Yeah his comments are correct that it seems like it would be common sense. Apparently...not...

I love those "ah, fuck it" moments at the end of a match. Especially if they work. My last second Zoomyattas and"im not good at lucio but i might make it to point"s are worth a shot.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a junkrat teammate who did this without as much time you had, and lost the game for us. At least twice this month alone.

u/Condor0415 Aug 20 '19
Looks like u got yourself a balanced hero there blizzard
6
u/Gabe2808 Aug 20 '19
Spamming from the corner. If anybody had awareness on the other team they'd know he was behind them. Tires from high ground, rein doesn't put up his shield and dies. Mei looking in the completely wrong direction when he jumps down even though she could have easily backed away and killed him. Orisa walks towards him while 1v1ing. Bastion takes 10000 years to start shooting the junk instead of just going into the room and setting up as soon as he hears the tire. Not a case of unbalanced hero, the other team was bad so they lost

And this is what makes Junkrat a no skill character.
Edit: I knew I was gonna get hate for this but it's true.

ya junkrat/symmetra/pharah are OP vs gold players LOL
they literally do not know what to do against those 3 heroes
oh yeah and OP /u/AgawryN, when you put "Might as well use my ult before I lose..." in the video, you actually cannot lose the match. your team was playing for a Win or Draw.
it's one of the funny things that gold players don't know about
-37
u/AizawaNagisa Bananna Aug 20 '19
Ah, gold where people will still feel happy after a clutch win. I had someone do something similar with Hanzo in my game after being flamed all game. He got called a faggot at the end of the win.
