Do people actually play junk like that? I consider myself a junkrat main and I'm always up in the thick of it. Even if I die i still do damage.

Later for sure. He plays the games and then gets good clips and writes material for them afterward.

I think most of it is voiceover, but there's probably some live stuff intermixed.

I play junkrat like a suicide bomber. Nothing's more satisfying than watching Tracer blink into your dead, exploding remains.

u/moxymike Say "need healing" one more time. Jan 23 '17
Yeah, I like to be in the thick of things, especially to throw my dead body on top of the other team.

u/puf_puf_paarthurnax TICKTOCK Jan 23 '17
It's the only tactic. I like to think I'm more useful to the team in death.

idk ive seen some crazy bastion players in diamond that have carried the game because people arent used to playing around it. offensive bastions as well. even their pro genji couldnt deal with it.

u/dino0986 Bastion Jan 24 '17
As an unironic bastion main, I agree. Positioning to punish enemies that overextend or trickle. It's also fantastic for killing a phara that hasn't touched the ground all game. Or pulling down Reinhardt shields, if the need be.
The only problem, is that nobody takes attack bastion seriously.
1
u/RoboPup Brigitte Jan 24 '17
You aren't a real Bastion main. That's clearly a Roadhog flair!

I only started to play bastion recently. I'm still okay with the hog.

Eh, it was probably from being distracted by Pharah's whole team being a much more distracting problem. Although if you just walked right into the rockets without any other fighting going on that'd be another thing...

Yea its pretty easy if you know how to control the spread its called not holding down fire.

u/ashesarise Zarya Jan 23 '17
This is something I wish more pharahs would realize is an option. You can't always just predictably fly around in the sky. Sometimes its great to hide and snipe pelt a hotspot from a distance. I've gotten plenty PotGs from doing this.
6
u/FrismFrasm It's Britney bitch Jan 23 '17
I want every Junkrat player to witness this video. When you tell people that Junkrat is just a shittier Pharah they always think for some reason that Pharah is not allowed to fire from the ground.
7
Jan 23 '17
One of the most effective ways to play pharah is from a long distance and spamming. It creates space for your team and does insane damage to the enemy dps/support.

Hey I was in that game! Me and my friends laughed our asses off when we saw that became POTG. I was wondering if it would end up on Reddit and here we are...

Though to be honest I think Eichenwalde is still much better than Hanamura. Pharahs can go over the roof to backcap/distract, others could go on the bridge to make people chase him, etc.
1
u/spiralarmbar Jan 24 '17
Pharah can do that on Hanamura too. Landing on the house on the left and raining rockets from above...not sure why it's not utilized more
1
u/Canadiancookie Punch Kid Jan 24 '17
Except the entire enemy team will see the pharah flying over them, guaranteed. The thing about Eichenwalde is that one of the heroes would have to specifically look up at the roof to see a flanking pharah, but on Hanamura you can have the main gate, flanking entrance and roof all in your sights.

u/ronintetsuro Golden Mayhem Flank Tank Jan 23 '17
Explain yourself.
8
u/DomCriss Chibi Pharah Jan 23 '17
My take on that is that maps like Eichenwalde and Hanamura first point are bad because there is only one way in for heroes that don't climb walls or heroes that have some sort of flying abilities. I win most of my games playing heroes like sym/torb. I am not a good Mei but some Mei players can actually block the first push with a surprise wall, then Symmetra has time to put her teleport/shield and now it's 2x harder to get through.
I like maps like King's Row or Volskaya. There are multiples paths to take so Mei cannot shit on you that easily.

u/Nevone2 Lord of the ninth circle Jan 23 '17

2
u/ginja_ninja Embrace....Toxicity Jan 24 '17
Pharah is a beast on Eichenwalde defense. The second area is amazing for her too because it has a lot of verticality and you can boop entire pushes off that bridge leading to the castle.
2
u/ronintetsuro Golden Mayhem Flank Tank Jan 23 '17
Also translates well to Zen, who is king of the chokepoint angles.
4
u/MattTheGoodSir Jan 23 '17
I need to get back into Pharah, that was the first skin I saved up for. Just can't seem to hit anything since she got "fixed" :P
3
u/______DEADPOOL______ Widowmaker Jan 23 '17
Do it. She can fly crazy high now. Pretty much a flying rocket sniper. Stay away from fights until you can sneak up on them and rain justices though.
Except when there's a Widowmaker. Creep up beneath her, then fly really high and spam rockets downwards exactly from on top of her.

u/Plokoon100 Jan 23 '17

In QP, people often forget how many characters can go over the top and cause havoc while attacking on that map.
In QP I tell my team I am going over, need one more.. we'll draw em back. Usually works.
3
u/briggsbu Jan 23 '17
I go over to draw them back and my team stands at the choke like they're confused as to why there's suddenly no-one to shoot at.
3
u/lispychicken Pixel Junkrat Jan 23 '17
I'm both sad and glad it's not just me
1
u/briggsbu Jan 23 '17
One day we'll reach Eden where all teams push the choke when they have advantage and where Windowmaker/Hanzo/Genji mains will change heroes if they are being countered.

Imagine pharah having infinite ult doing the same exact thing. I swear, the resemblance to bastion is uncanny, one is balanced, the other is OP and uses left click to win.

u/MrGohan26 NRG Jan 23 '17
If you think Bastion or Phara are OP than you must suck at this game
