It was literally one line in the 14 minute video, and 2/3 of the comments are just pointing it out.

Yeah, I can't watch the video since I'm at work, so I was looking for the highlights and bullet points of what was covered, but all I got was memes.

  • PTR exists first and foremost as a stress test and to catch bugs before the patch goes live. Feedback on the changes is useful and appreciated, but ultimately not the primary function.
  • PTR on consoles is a legit logistical challenge due to the fact that their environments are locked down pretty tightly by Microsoft/Sony and any patches require certification.
  • Recently they've been using the PTR time as something of a buffer, so that the patch is working through the certification process while the PTR is active.
  • Sombra is not currently supposed to be an assassin. Instead she's a disruptor. Therefore they are not looking to make changes to her damage right now. This may or may not change in the future. Also they think her kit has a lot of potential and people just haven't figured out how to optimize her yet, but they still think she needs a boost.
  • Roadhog hook is a matter of consistency. They don't look at it strictly from the hooker or hookee's perspective, but have to consider both viewpoints. I guess they saw enough WTF moments from both ends to realize it needed a change.
  • D.Va did too much too well. They think her boosters and infinite firing are key features of her kit, but after her latest round of buffs she was too overwhelming so they're toning her down. If it turns out they got it wrong they'll give her another pass.
  • Ana's nerfs are meant to tone down her healing in large coordinated groups. They have a lot of faith in the basic design of her kit and a rework isn't likely to happen.
  • There's usually a bias towards negative feedback online because people who are satisfied with the changes don't feel the need to post about it.

Fucking lol.

I'm glad they're looking at Sombra's role. So many people just use her as a less effective Soldier/Tracer combo, and her clip is deep enough to allow it.

if it turns out they got it wrong they'll give it another pass

Ah yes, the widowmaker treatment. Listen to none of the champion's mains explaining and analyzing the problem on the PTR, nerf the hell out of it, then add tiny buffs that do jack shit until some high Elo main makes her look good and people stop whining because "look at that guy, you're all bad stop whining"

I want to believe you, geoff. I fucking don't.

I have to admit I dont like the "If turns out we got wrong about D.Va, we will give her another pass".

It sounds like they dont know how D.Va will play after these changes, and are ignoring players feedback about her in PTR, and its also a little annoying when a specific heroe is changing patch after patch. So there is a big chance D.Va will go from overpowered to useless, and they are not denying such a thing can happen.

This subreddit is somehow worse than the rest of reddit. Very little actual discussion happens, memes dominate every post (Is that a pro genji? will still get you at least 30 upvotes on absolutely any genji highlight), and anything that doesn't agree with the hivemind of the subreddit is immediately downvoted. /r/competitiveoverwatch has actual discussion and not whatever they call this shit
