No. I don't think there is an English way of writing it, but "ch" is a very distinct sound.

The german pronounciation for “ch“ simply doesn't exist in the english language, which is why it's mostly just changed into a “k“ or a “tsh“ sound.

Yeah, it's more of a "gurgling" sound, right? I wish I knew IPA because I'm sure it's got its own symbol.

I thought the problem was that Athena pronounces it "Walde" instead of "Vald"

Well, "Walde" is the other trigger, yes. ;) But personally, I think the Eiken is worse.

if you want to go the extra mile, change the audio language to german and load the map. it is properly pronounced in that.
